This fraud has been <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/planned-parenthoods-abuses-piling-up\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">documented<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> multiple times in official government reports, and <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/former-planned-parenthood-staffers-explain-medicaid-fraud-committed\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">former employees<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> have <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/planned-parenthoods-medicaid-patients-are-like-cash-cows-that-we-milked-for-all-we-could\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">publicly testified<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> to their knowledge of the corporation&#8217;s fraud as well.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Profit over people<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The report goes on to provide support for the idea that Planned Parenthood&#8217;s top priority is <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">not<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> the health and <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/planned-parenthood-employee-reviews-care-clients-staff\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">wellbeing<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> of individuals; instead, it <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/planned-parenthood-federation-america-cut-staff\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">protects<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> its <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/6-facts-nyt-planned-parenthood-crisis\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">own financial interests<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> above all else.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Within this realm of discussion, the report 1) gives an overview of investigations into Planned Parenthood&#8217;s involvement in the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/defund-planned-parenthood-dehumanizing-preborn-harvesting-parts\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">trafficking<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> of tissues obtained from aborted human beings, 2) notes how the corporation has &#8220;<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/reject-planned-parenthood-failed-victims-sexual-abuse\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">repeatedly failed<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> to abide by mandatory reporting laws regarding child sexual abuse,&#8221; 3) specifies ways in which Planned Parenthood has provided substandard &#8220;care&#8221; to the patients it purports to help (revealing <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/?s=911%2C+planned+parenthood\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">911 calls<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/missouri-ag-planned-parenthood-pack-bags\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">health code violations<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/woman-sues-planned-parenthood-botched-abortion\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">lawsuits<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, and <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/womens-deaths-demonstrate-legal-doesnt-mean-safe\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">client deaths<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">), and 4) describes cases in which Planned Parenthood has been accused of <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/reject-planned-parenthood-discrimination-funded-taxpayers\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">discriminatory<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and exploitative <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/report-planned-parenthood-discriminated-pregnant\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">employment practices<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">&#8220;Fetal tissue trafficking, aiding abusers, substandard care, and exploitative employment practices are diverse expressions of a single core attribute: Planned Parenthood prioritizes profit at the expense of anyone and everyone,&#8221; a report summary asserts.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Targeting the vulnerable<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The report also clearly denotes how Planned Parenthood <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/planned-parenthood-goal-educate-sexualize-teens\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">targets minors<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> with <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/selling-sex-schools-whos-behind-ed-children\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">inappropriate sex education<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and &#8220;<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/reject-planned-parenthood-expand-gender-affirming-minors\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">gender-affirming care<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">,&#8221; which it states have been &#8220;designed to transform kids into long-term, even lifelong, Planned Parenthood customers.&#8221; It describes how transgender ideology is incorporated into Planned Parenthood-approved curricula and <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/planned-parenthood-promotes-benefits-transgender-ideology\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">videos<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> from the earliest ages, and points out how the corporation has even expressed interest in &#8220;<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/reject-planned-parenthood-expand-gender-affirming-minors\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">expanding<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">&#8221; its &#8220;gender-affirming care&#8221; services for <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/abortion-facilities-transgender-planned-parenthood-younger\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">minors<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">But it isn&#8217;t just minors who are targeted when at their most vulnerable; a number of older teens and <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/defund-planned-parenthood-teen-serious-danger-hormones\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">young adults<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> have stated that when they sought cross-sex hormones from Planned Parenthood, the facilities <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/word-street-teens-planned-parenthood-hormone-access\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">didn&#8217;t require<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> any sort of assessment, and they (to their own detriment) received hormones the same day \u2014 some with <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/30-minutes-planned-parenthood-changed-forever-suing\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">little more<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> than a single, <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/planned-parenthood-transgender-surgery-without-meeting\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">30-minute appointment<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. Planned Parenthood openly admits that this is how its &#8220;<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/hhs-report-planned-parenthood-leading-provider-hormones\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">informed consent<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">&#8221; model operates.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"YouTube video player\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/GfoZCtbvdhM?si=saE_847kzLh2cH5z\" width=\"640\" height=\"355\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><span data-mce-type=\"bookmark\" style=\"display: inline-block; width: 0px; overflow: hidden; line-height: 0;\" class=\"mce_SELRES_start\">\ufeff<\/span><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">When it comes to sex ed, Planned Parenthood has been very effective at <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/virginia-city-inappropriate-planned-parenthood-sex-ed\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">infiltrating schools<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. As the report notes:<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Planned Parenthood <\/span><\/i><a href=\"https:\/\/www.plannedparenthoodaction.org\/issues\/sex-education\/how-planned-parenthood-teaches-sex-education\"><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">claims<\/span><\/i><\/a><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> to be \u201cthe single largest provider of sex education in the United States,\u201d and its influence over sex education extends far beyond its own brand by means of offshoot and affiliated organizations. When one adds to Planned Parenthood itself all of the <\/span><\/i><a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/abortion-business-provider-sex-education-children\/\"><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">associated organizations<\/span><\/i><\/a><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> that produce and distribute sex education materials, the massive scope of the abortion corporation\u2019s influence in our nation\u2019s classrooms begins to come into focus.<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The report describes how Planned Parenthood-approved curriculum <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/defund-planned-parenthood-extremist-coalition-sex-miseducators\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">sexualizes children<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, normalizes and <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/planned-parenthood-coalition-sexually-graphic-books-schools\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">promotes<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> risky and age-inappropriate sexual behavior, and <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=4WNsKJkru2A\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">undermines<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> parental authority.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Pathways to defunding<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">&#8220;The only way to ensure that Planned Parenthood is permanently defunded without relying on executive actions that can be undone by future administrations is for Congress to pass ironclad legislation that cuts off all federal funding, once and for all,&#8221; notes the report, which calls on Congress to &#8220;take decisive action to enact the permanent legislative defunding of Planned Parenthood, ensuring that no future administration can restore its taxpayer funding. This means eliminating all taxpayer subsidies through Medicaid, Title X, and federal grants, while also preventing Planned Parenthood from accessing funds through loopholes or indirect channels.&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The report suggests &#8220;multiple pathways&#8221; though which Congress may defund Planned Parenthood, including:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><i> <\/i><b><i>Title X Rule Enforcement<\/i><\/b><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: HHS can reinstate the Protect Life Rule and require Title X funding recipients to be financially and physically separate from abortion facilities&#8230;.<\/span><\/i><\/li>\n<li><i> <\/i><b><i>Medicaid Disqualification<\/i><\/b><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: HHS has the authority to disqualify Planned Parenthood as a Medicaid provider due to repeated violations of federal laws and regulations, including failure to report sexual abuse and Medicaid fraud&#8230;.<\/span><\/i><\/li>\n<li><i> <\/i><b><i>Executive Order on Federal Grants<\/i><\/b><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: The president can issue an executive order prohibiting federal agencies from awarding grants to organizations that provide or refer for abortions.<\/span><\/i><\/li>\n<li><i> <\/i><b><i>Enforcement of Child Protection Laws<\/i><\/b><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: HHS can audit all Title X recipients to ensure compliance with mandatory reporting laws for child sexual abuse&#8230;.<\/span><\/i><\/li>\n<li><i> <\/i><b><i>Fetal Tissue and Trafficking Investigations<\/i><\/b><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: The Department of Justice (DOJ) must reopen and expand investigations into Planned Parenthood\u2019s participation in illegal fetal tissue sales and abortion trafficking&#8230;.<\/span><\/i><\/li>\n<li><i> <\/i><b><i>Congressional Collaboration<\/i><\/b><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: The administration must work with Congress to push for a permanent legislative defunding of Planned Parenthood, ensuring that taxpayer dollars never again subsidize its exploitative practices.<\/span><\/i><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The majority of the report\u2019s research was originally published at Live Action News and was contributed by Live Action Research Fellow Carole Novielli and several other Live Action News authors.
