As Planned Parenthood has expanded its so-called \u201cgender-affirming care\u201d over the past decade, detransitioners who obtained hormones from the corporation have publicly repudiated Planned Parenthood\u2019s dangerous transgender practices.<\/span><\/p>\n

Planned Parenthood <\/span>disproportionately targets young people<\/span><\/a> aged 18-22 with its so-called “gender-affirming care.” As can be observed by reading stories of detransitioners, most describe having been vulnerable and even struggling with mental illness when they sought \u201ctreatment\u201d for gender dysphoria from Planned Parenthood. The cross-sex hormones left some of them with permanent issues.<\/span><\/p>\n

Though the number of people negatively affected by Planned Parenthood\u2019s \u201cgender-affirming care\u201d will never be known, some detransitioners who are not <\/em><\/span>public figures<\/span><\/a> like <\/span>Cat Cattinson<\/span><\/a>, <\/span>Elle Palmer<\/span><\/a>, and <\/span>Helena Kerschner<\/span><\/a> have shared parts of their stories on online platforms. <\/span>The following Reddit posts, viewed and collected by Live Action in April 2025, detail the regret of alleged anonymous detransitioners who claim to have visited Planned Parenthood for cross-sex hormones \u2014\u00a0specifically, testosterone.<\/span><\/p>\n

A Reddit user asked if others had obtained hormones through Planned Parenthood and felt \u201cthey were not truly warned about the negative effects of transitioning”:\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

“A horrible experience”<\/strong><\/p>\n

Had one appointment where we discussed a bit of my background (disclosed that I was depressed, had a couple suicide attempts, childhood sexual abuse, saw therapists on & off throughout my life), which was completely glossed over & no further questioning about my state of mind at present time.<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

I was still a perfect candidate for HRT apparently. Gave me an info packet then sent to get bloodwork. A week later I went back, was shown how to do the shot & that was it. <\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

Was highly encouraged by clinic to hurry up & start getting ready for top surgery, which I\u2019m thankful I didn\u2019t go through with now. But ironically when I brought up detransitioning, they didn\u2019t respond to my messages or calls so I had to stop T cold turkey. Overall a horrible experience.<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

Eligible despite “lack of mental stability”<\/strong><\/p>\n

I was prescribed T from a Planned Parenthood for all six months of my time on hormones\u2026 I didn\u2019t have any bloodwork yet completed at the time of my prescription. They also never demonstrated a shot or any related care\u2026<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

I did my own first shot at home, same as every one after. Apparently I was doing my shots wrong for the first 2-3 months to the point that for two weeks after a specific dosage I had a huge (like a baby\u2019s fist sized) stone-hard lump under the skin of my leg because I\u2019d pulled out the needle too quickly or something, which was not something mentioned at the clinic or anywhere else and hurt like hell\u2026<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

Anyways the biggest beef for me was their painfully lacking \u2018psych eval\u2019 type few questions less than an hour before slapping the prescription into my hands. Questions that I definitely answered the \u2018wrong\u2019 aka of greater concern answers to like: do you have a history of mental illness? Suicidal thoughts\/actions? Family abuse? Drug or alcohol abuse? <\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

(These questions are not verbatim obviously but my answers were all major yes\u2019s) so I just don\u2019t understand how my demonstration of a complete lack of mental stability kept me an eligible candidate. <\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

Oh and last but not least, I had disclosed to my doctor\/PA\/nurse\/?? that I\u2019d had unprotected sex less than two weeks prior to this appointment where I was at the time still not sure if I was pregnant or not. There was no required pregnancy test or required form of clarification first<\/span><\/i>.<\/span><\/p>\n

Planned Parenthood is committing abortions and selling hormones on a large scale across the United States. As previously noted<\/a> by Live Action News, the corporation<\/span>\u2019s “latest annual report from 2022-23 <\/span>reveals<\/a> record-breaking abortions \u2014 <\/span>392,715 in a single year, <\/b>while it received nearly <\/span>$700 million<\/b> taxpayer dollars.”<\/span><\/p>\n

Planned Parenthood looks to recruit life-long customers who remain dependent on Planned Parenthood\u2019s “services,” by promoting dangerous <\/span>sex education<\/span><\/a>, selling<\/span>\u00a0abortions<\/span><\/a>, and selling so-called <\/span>\u201c<\/span>gender-affirming care<\/span><\/a>.\u201d In preying on society’s most vulnerable, it <\/span>harms society as a whole \u2013 using taxpayer dollars.
