This happened at an <a href=\"https:\/\/webtv.un.org\/en\/asset\/k1l\/k1lcsrdj9g\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">event<\/a>\u00a0in conjunction with the just-concluded UN Commission on Population and Development.<\/p>\n<p>Pro-life advocate Josie Luetke of Campaign Life Coalition said, \u201cIf our goal is peace, how can we be perpetuating violence against preborn human beings through abortion, which sometimes involves the dismemberment of human beings in the womb?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Natalia Kanem, Executive Director of UNFPA, denounced her comment as \u201ca very dangerous thing to say,\u201d adding that she had \u201cnever heard or seen [dismemberment abortion] happening\u201d and that it would be \u201cthe opposite of what my noble profession tries to do, which is to uphold the sanctity of life.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Kanem added that this was \u201cmisinformation and disinformation, which has led to deaths from measles in some of the most advanced health economies of the world.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Pascale Allotey of the World Health Organization sat alongside the head of UNFPA, and she knows well that dismemberment abortions occur. Her interagency Human Reproduction Program published a 2023 clinical abortion\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/iris.who.int\/bitstream\/handle\/10665\/369488\/9789240075207-eng.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">guideline<\/a>\u00a0that discusses using \u201cforceps to complete the evacuation of fetal parts\u201d in surgical abortions after 14 weeks of gestation, with further guidance if not all parts can be located.
