New parents frequently struggle with a lack of support, and feeling required to go back to work almost immediately following giving birth. A new bill is aiming to help make at least a small difference for new parents by ensuring they have more options, without having to fear being penalized.<\/p>\n

The Daily Wire reported<\/a> that West Virginia Congressman Riley Moore and Utah Senator Mike Lee introduced the Fairness for Stay-at-Home-Parents Act, which would close a loophole in the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) if new parents choose to stay home with their children after childbirth. A previous version<\/a> of the bill was introduced in 2023 by then-Senator J.D. Vance (R-Ohio).<\/p>\n

\u201cBeing pro-life means being pro-family. That means ensuring families aren\u2019t penalized for deciding to have a parent stay home with their new baby,\u201d Moore told The Daily Wire. \u201cOur bill ensures families won\u2019t face a huge bill for insurance premiums simply for choosing what\u2019s best for their family.\u201d<\/p>\n
