Even as government agencies clearly prohibit discrimination, it appears that one corporation regularly accused of racism continues to receive taxpayer funding. That corporation is Planned Parenthood, which was founded by eugenicists and which has in recent years also been accused of systemic racism toward clients and employees.<\/p>\n

In its latest annual report<\/a>, Planned Parenthood showed that it received nearly $700 million in taxpayer funding. As of June 30, 2023<\/a>, the organization\u2019s net assets (minus liabilities)<\/a> had risen to over $2.9 billion<\/strong>\u00a0\u2014<\/i> the highest recorded in recent years.<\/p>\n

Though Planned Parenthood \u2014\u00a0with the help of media elites awarded<\/a> by the organization \u2014\u00a0has tried to dismiss<\/a> its past, it cannot change the fact that for a century, it repeatedly defended<\/a> and honored<\/a> its founder Margaret Sanger, even putting her name on its flagship facility in Manhattan<\/a>. Eventually<\/a>, when the corporation could no longer deny its eugenicist and racist history, it succumbed to societal pressure to \u2014 at least externally \u2014 “cancel<\/a>” Sanger.<\/p>\n

But Sanger is just the tip of the iceberg of the discrimination uncovered at this organization.<\/p>\n

    Discriminatory from the beginning<\/strong><\/p>\n

    Founded<\/a> by avowed eugenicist<\/a> Margaret Sanger<\/a> as the American Birth Control League, Planned Parenthood as an organization<\/a> was embedded<\/a> from its foundations with fellow eugenicists who endorsed dangerous ideas that they believed would lead to a decrease in certain people groups \u2014 those to whom Sanger referred as “human weeds<\/a>.” The Eugenics Society was so directly<\/a> tied<\/a> to Planned Parenthood that at one point, it gave<\/a> Planned Parenthood office accommodations rent free<\/em>.<\/p>\n

    Abortion is a tool<\/a> of eugenics, and was introduced to Planned Parenthood<\/a> by the organization\u2019s then-president<\/a>,\u00a0Dr Alan F. Guttmacher<\/a>, (former<\/a> VP of the American Eugenics Society<\/a> and founder of the Guttmacher Institute)<\/a>. In 1966, Guttmacher<\/a> proposed a\u00a0blueprint<\/a> to force taxpayers<\/a> to pay for birth control access for the poor. Within a few short years, Guttmacher\u2019s \u201cblueprint<\/a>\u201d became a reality.<\/p>\n

    Planned Parenthood today is “steeped in white supremacy”<\/strong><\/p>\n

    In July 2020<\/a>, hundreds of past and current Planned Parenthood of Greater New York (PPGNY) employees published an open letter<\/a>,\u00a0alleging<\/a> that the abortion organization was \u201cfounded by a racist, white woman\u201d and also had a \u201cpresent steeped in white supremacy.\u201d Additional employees at other affiliates told BuzzFeed News they witnessed<\/a> \u201copen racism,\u201d endured \u201csegregated\u201d offices, and experienced overall unequal treatment of Black and minority employees at multiple PP centers across the country.<\/p>\n

    Multiple affiliates<\/a> later acknowledged<\/a> Planned Parenthood\u2019s present-day \u201csystemic racism<\/a>.\u201d Nineteen separate affiliates with operations in 33 states issued statements<\/a>\u00a0admitting<\/a>\u00a0to racism. An internal audit also\u00a0confirmed<\/a> that Planned Parenthood Federation of America (PPFA) has a racism problem.<\/p>\n

    Live Action previously uncovered<\/a> Planned Parenthood’s willingness to accept racially-discriminatory donations, and one former staffer claimed<\/a> the organization trained her to offer financial assistance to only Black women<\/em> seeking abortions \u2014 not<\/em> to women “who sounded white.” She recalled that she felt like a “slave trader.”<\/p>\n

    Years ago, former Planned Parenthood president Faye Wattleton<\/a> revealed how she was aware of supporters who contributed to Planned Parenthood to \u201ckeep the Black population down.\u201d Wattleton admitted in a debate on CNN with Congressman Bob Dornan, \u201c…[W]e have received contributions from people who want to support us because they want all welfare mothers and all Black women to stop having children.\u201d<\/p>\n
