Idaho was one of 20 states total considering similar legislation this legislative session, despite pushback from pro-abortion groups such as SIECUS and Planned Parenthood \u2014 with the latter claiming that prenatal development education for teens could &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/sex-ed-leader-prenatal-development-stigmatize-abortion\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">stigmatize<\/a>&#8221; abortion.<\/p>\n<p>According to the <a href=\"https:\/\/legislature.idaho.gov\/wp-content\/uploads\/sessioninfo\/2025\/legislation\/S1046.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">law<\/a> \u2014 Human Growth and Development Instruction in Public Schools \u2014 the curriculum will &#8220;include instruction on human growth and development&#8221; to students in grades five through 12, including &#8220;showing the development of the brain, heart, sex organs, and other vital organs in early fetal development&#8221; using &#8220;scientifically accurate materials, such as ultrasound videos and animations.&#8221; These videos <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/idaho-house-prenatal-education-bill-governor\/\">may include<\/a> Live Action&#8217;s &#8220;Baby Olivia&#8221; or other similar animations.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">Live Action founder <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/LilaGraceRose?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@LilaGraceRose<\/a> discusses Idaho <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/GovernorLittle?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@GovernorLittle<\/a>\u2019s latest bill requiring public schools in the state to learn about prenatal development on &#8216;<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/foxandfriends?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@foxandfriends<\/a> Weekend.&#8217; <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/PBxUkD2GQF\">pic.twitter.com\/PBxUkD2GQF<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Fox News (@FoxNews) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/FoxNews\/status\/1906370091073048728?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">March 30, 2025<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><br \/>\nThe curriculum will be implemented for the 2025-2026 school year and must include either a &#8220;high-definition ultrasound video,&#8221; <em>and<\/em> a &#8220;high-quality, computer-generated rending or animation&#8221; such as &#8220;Baby Olivia.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"YouTube video player\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/S-lQOooYAs8?si=vcnOjH3rikDaZ37U\" width=\"640\" height=\"355\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><span data-mce-type=\"bookmark\" style=\"display: inline-block; width: 0px; overflow: hidden; line-height: 0;\" class=\"mce_SELRES_start\">\ufeff<\/span><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>\u201cBaby Olivia\u201d is a state-of-the-art animation depicting medically accurate information about the life and development of preborn children, showcasing their growth and development milestones from the moment of fertilization through birth. <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/baby-olivia-medically-accurate-fetal-development-media\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">A panel of several doctors<\/a> approved the groundbreaking video, which was created based on information provided by the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ehd.org\/about-us.php\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Endowment for Human Development<\/a> (EHD), a \u201cnonprofit organization dedicated to improving health science education and public health&#8221; whose videos have been distributed by National Geographic.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Senator Tammy Nichols, lead sponsor of the bill, said:<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><em><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The signing of Senate Bill 1046 is a vital victory for life, ensuring that Idaho students are educated about the sanctity of life from conception. By teaching students about fetal development and the biological processes that begin at fertilization, this legislation helps instill a profound respect for life, encourages future generations to recognize the value of the unborn, and lays the groundwork for creating a cultural shift that values and protects life at all stages.<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p>Sponsor of the bill, state Rep.
