The facility will also offer training for primary care providers.<\/p>\n<p><center><iframe loading=\"lazy\" style=\"border: none; overflow: hidden;\" src=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/plugins\/post.php?href=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.facebook.com%2Fncchildrenshospital%2Fposts%2F1080898454066621&amp;show_text=true&amp;width=500\" width=\"500\" height=\"753\" frameborder=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/center>According to a <a href=\"https:\/\/news.unchealthcare.org\/2025\/03\/unc-childrens-announces-grand-opening-of-down-syndrome-clinic\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">press release<\/a>, the clinic was founded by Dr. Kate Westmoreland, a pediatrician who herself is raising a child with Down syndrome.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI have experienced first-hand the immense love and joy that comes with raising a child with Down syndrome, as well as the unique challenges that families navigate,\u201d Dr. Westmoreland said. \u201cOur goal is to create a welcoming, supportive space where individuals with Down syndrome can receive comprehensive, compassionate medical care tailored just for them.
