Over one year after taking his 15-year-old girlfriend out of Idaho and into Oregon for an illegal abortion<\/a>, Kaidyn Swainston \u2014 18 at the time of the incident \u2014 had his sentence reduced to probation only<\/a>, after originally being sentenced to five years in prison.<\/p>\n

In November of 2023, Swainston and his mother, Rachael, took a 15-year-old girl known as K.B. to Oregon for an abortion. At the time, Swainston was 18, and he was charged with second-degree kidnapping, rape, and three counts of producing child sexually exploitative material. Rachael, meanwhile, was charged with trafficking methamphetamine, two counts of possession of a controlled substance (one for fentanyl and one for psychedelic mushrooms), and one count of harboring a wanted felon. Neither were charged under Idaho’s abortion trafficking law, despite claims from abortion advocates.<\/p>\n
