{"id":327294,"date":"2025-03-07T10:43:04","date_gmt":"2025-03-07T16:43:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.liveaction.org\/news\/?p=327294"},"modified":"2025-03-06T21:15:17","modified_gmt":"2025-03-07T03:15:17","slug":"planned-parenthood-hurried-abortions-minor-bad-sample","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/planned-parenthood-hurried-abortions-minor-bad-sample\/","title":{"rendered":"Planned Parenthood staffer: &#8216;Hurried&#8217; abortion on minor could result in &#8216;bad sample\u2019 of fetal tissue"},"content":{"rendered":"<div style=\"margin-top: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px;\" class=\"sharethis-inline-share-buttons\" ><\/div><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Two videos previously released by undercover journalist David Daleiden and his team at<\/span> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.centerformedicalprogress.org\/cmp\/investigative-footage\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">the Center for Medical Progress<\/span><\/a> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">contain comments from Planned Parenthood abortionists and top-level executives about abortions committed on minors.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In one of the videos, Planned Parenthood staffers Tram Nguyen and Ann <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Schutt-Ain\u00e9,<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> who were working in leadership positions for Planned Parenthood Gulf Coast at the time the videos were recorded, discussed an abortion that was carried out on a minor, whom they agreed was &#8216;not cooperative.&#8217;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In<\/span> <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/abortionist-confiscated-planned-parenthood-pull-leg-illegal\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">one video<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, Nguyen recalled to <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Schutt-Ain\u00e9<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> an abortion carried out by a mutual colleague on a minor who was 16 weeks pregnant.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">\u00a0<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"YouTube video player\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/oIzXl0r1N20?si=x696EL98etq37aba\" width=\"640\" height=\"355\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><span data-mce-type=\"bookmark\" style=\"display: inline-block; width: 0px; overflow: hidden; line-height: 0;\" class=\"mce_SELRES_start\">\ufeff<\/span><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cIt was like a 16-weeker that Dr. [Anitra] B[easley] had did, but it was on a minor, and so it was one of those minors where Dr. B had to like hurry it up, and like\u2026\u201d Nguyen said. She then demonstrated what it would look like to \u201churry it up\u201d during an abortion by grimacing and making digging motions with her arms.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Daleiden interjected, \u201cWas it because the patient was not cooperative or\u2026?\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cYeah.\u201d Nguyen responded. \u201cIt was just, like, not the smoothest.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In another <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=s1WcII0F5-A\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">video<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, Nguyen discussed good versus bad \u201csamples\u201d while referring to the babies she killed. Nguyen recalled a case involving an abortion on a minor, which was so traumatic that the baby\u2019s body was too mangled to be handed over to research.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">\u00a0<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"YouTube video player\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/s1WcII0F5-A?si=f9jFOhvQ_EKt3fqi\" width=\"640\" height=\"355\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><span data-mce-type=\"bookmark\" style=\"display: inline-block; width: 0px; overflow: hidden; line-height: 0;\" class=\"mce_SELRES_start\">\ufeff<\/span><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cIt was like one bad sample. It was like a 16-year-old kid, so we just had to <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">hurry up<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, whereas like other days it\u2019s, like, more intact where it\u2019s, like, maybe only like an arm that\u2019s disarticulated.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In a couple of short sentences, Nguyen managed to dehumanize both preborn babies and their young mothers. For Nguyen, the second baby described wasn&#8217;t a person but a \u201cbad sample,\u201d and the baby\u2019s mother was just some \u201c16-year-old kid.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Nguyen\u2019s comments in both conversations about needing to \u201churry up\u201d minors\u2019 abortions raises questions about the mental and emotional state of teenage mothers who undergo abortions at Planned Parenthood Gulf Coast facilities and about the safety of the procedures being carried out.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Were the young mothers noncompliant because they were in extreme pain or even being forced to undergo the abortions? We don&#8217;t know.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The most commonly used second trimester abortion procedure is a D&amp;E, or dilation and evacuation abortion, also called a dismemberment abortion because the abortionist uses a Sopher clamp to tear the arms and legs off of the preborn child. When attempting to collect fetal body parts to sell to tissue procurement companies, the abortionist will not use digoxin (a feticide) to end the baby&#8217;s life before dismemberment because it will taint the &#8216;sample.&#8217;\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"YouTube video player\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/eR1Ut4BPbOw?si=6moDgXGGSqu70dur\" width=\"640\" height=\"355\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><span data-mce-type=\"bookmark\" style=\"display: inline-block; width: 0px; overflow: hidden; line-height: 0;\" class=\"mce_SELRES_start\">\ufeff<\/span><\/iframe>\n<\/p>\n<p>A D&amp;E is a <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/de-abortion-destructive-violent\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">violent<\/a> procedure, and research <a href=\"https:\/\/pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/articles\/PMC9148646\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">published<\/a> in 2022 revealed that &#8220;respondents seeking abortion care at later gestations in the second trimester were more likely to report pain during their abortions.&#8221; Two of the risks involved with the procedure are cervical injury and uterine perforation, and rushing through the procedure could increase the risks for such injuries, as well as increasing the potential for an incomplete abortion. If not all body parts are removed from the mother&#8217;s uterus, infection can set in, which can lead to sepsis and even death if left untreated.<\/p>\n<p>Nguyen later discusses how people would respond if they heard how she spoke to other abortionists. \u201cI\u2019m like, \u2018Yeah, I have like a leg for you!\u2019\u201d she says. \u201cI\u2019m like, oh sh**, if other people were to hear me, they\u2019d be like, you are f***ing evil.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>The traumatic abortion experiences of minors<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">What were rushed abortions like for the teenage girls undergoing the procedures that killed their preborn babies?<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Tammy Holly<\/span> <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/coerced-abortion-helps-others-mercy-forgiveness\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">told Live Action News<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> the story of her own abortion, which her parents and boyfriend coerced her into having at the age of 17 with the assistance of the abortionist.\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">On the day of the abortion, the abortionist asked Holly if she was consenting to the procedure.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">&#8220;I told him absolutely not,&#8221; Holly said. &#8220;He said that I\u2019d have to talk to my parents, which would have been fruitless. They were instrumental in me having the abortion. I was like a frightened animal that was backed into a corner.&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">She was 11 weeks, close to the 12-week limit when abortions could legally be committed, and her parents wanted it over quickly. She felt intense pressure to go through with the abortion.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Holly explained (emphasis added), &#8220;They told me the procedure was simple, but it was very painful. I was given a sedative but could hear the awful sound of the suction machine ripping my baby from my womb. <\/span><b>As my body convulsed, three nurses held me down and told me to be quiet as to not disturb others who were waiting for their abortions.&#8221;<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is unclear if Holly\u2019s abortion was committed at a Planned Parenthood facility, but her description of the procedure could fit with Nguyen\u2019s description of the difficulty with committing abortions on minors.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/google-reviews-womens-excruciating-abortion-experiences\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A Google Review<\/span><\/a> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">of Planned Parenthood West Hartford in Connecticut similarly described the nightmarish scene of a teenage girl\u2019s abortion.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cWhen I was 17, I came here for a surgical abortion. They lied to me. They said they\u2019d give me \u2018twilight sedation,\u2019 but they gave me NOTHING. I was completely LUCID during my procedure. I laid on the table while 4 nurses held me down and the &#8230; doctor performed the procedure as I screamed and squirmed. Instead of stopping to check on me, they held me down and held my legs open.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>Planned Parenthood and abortion coercion<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Live Action\u2019s <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.liveaction.org\/what-we-do\/investigations\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">undercover investigations<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> at Planned Parenthood facilities around the country <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/planned-parenthood-traffickers-guardians\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">revealed<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> that Planned Parenthood staff were willing to aid pimps in getting abortions and STD treatments for the minor girls they were trafficking.
