Liam Payne, a pop star who was formerly a member of the mega-group One Direction, died last year after falling from a hotel balcony in Buenos Aires, with toxicology reports revealing he had cocaine, alcohol, and antidepressants in his system. Prior to his death, his life appeared to have been on a downward spiral for years; he battled addiction, distributed revenge porn against ex-girlfriends, and allegedly pressured at least one ex to have an abortion.<\/p>\n

A new Rolling Stone investigation<\/a> delved into Payne’s life, noting that Payne had become sober in 2018 upon meeting Maya Henry, a model. Within a year, they were engaged to be married.<\/p>\n

But Henry hinted last year in a book she wrote before Payne’s death, that she had an abortion<\/a>. In one scene, a character named Mallory was pressured by her boyfriend to have an abortion. A source close to Henry alleged to Rolling Stone that \u201cLiam struggled with his sexuality,\u201d and that \u201cDuring his relationship with Maya, he sexted men.\u201d<\/p>\n

During the COVID-19 lockdowns, Henry allegedly discovered that Payne was drinking and using drugs again \u2014 and she discovered she was pregnant.\u201cLiam sent Maya a long message saying it\u2019s either get an abortion and stay with him, or raise the kid alone and he will not acknowledge either of them,\u201d the anonymous source told Rolling Stone. \u201cThis was a surprise to Maya, because Liam wanted to have a family, and they were trying for a kid.\u201d<\/p>\n

In her book, Henry detailed what she presumably experienced during the abortion: complications and hemorrhaging so severe, she had to be hospitalized.<\/p>\n
