An abortion facility in Carbondale, Illinois, is raising eyebrows after staff placed a 911 call to request the completion of a patient’s abortion procedure.<\/p>\n

Operation Rescue reported<\/a> that the Alamo Women\u2019s Clinic called for an ambulance in September of 2024, and what actually happened that day is a mystery. The computer-aided dispatch (CAD) transcript was not available, so all there is to go on is the 911 audio.<\/p>\n

At the outset, the call seemed disturbingly cavalier; both the dispatcher and the abortion facility staffer sounded nearly half-asleep. After the dispatcher asked for the location of the emergency, the staffer replied flatly, “Hey. I’m at 2800 West Main.”<\/p>\n

The dispatcher nonchalantly asked, “What’s going on?”<\/p>\n

Though the abortion facility has since been identified as Alamo Women’s, in the actual 911 call, the staffer did not say the name of the facility. “I’m calling from a women’s clinic,” she said. “I have a patient who needs to be transported to the hospital to finish her abortion procedure.”<\/p>\n

Only once the staffer was connected to EMS did she disclose the name of the facility. But the rest of the audio was redacted, so there is little information about what caused the facility \u2014 which provides both chemical and surgical abortions<\/em> up to 18 weeks in Illinois \u2014 to call 911 over a supposedly incomplete<\/em> abortion.<\/p>\n
