{"id":325253,"date":"2025-01-27T08:49:08","date_gmt":"2025-01-27T14:49:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.liveaction.org\/news\/?p=325253"},"modified":"2025-01-27T15:33:49","modified_gmt":"2025-01-27T21:33:49","slug":"pro-lifers-celebrate-following-trump-pardon","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/pro-lifers-celebrate-following-trump-pardon\/","title":{"rendered":"Pro-lifers celebrate their freedom following President Trump&#8217;s pardon"},"content":{"rendered":"<div style=\"margin-top: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px;\" class=\"sharethis-inline-share-buttons\" ><\/div><p>Shortly after President Trump <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/president-trump-pardons-pro-lifers-face-act-biden\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">pardoned<\/a> 23 pro-life activists on Thursday, images and videos began to circulate on social media celebrating their releases.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Bevelyn Beatty Williams<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Bevelyn Beatty Williams was <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/retribution-unjust-prosecution-bevelyn-williams\/\">sentenced<\/a> to 41 months in a federal prison in Alabama on charges of violating the Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances Act (FACE Act) during a two-day protest outside a New York City Planned Parenthood in June of 2020. She was put in prison more than four years later even though she was <em>not<\/em> arrested at the time of the protest (despite police officers being on the scene), and no investigation was opened for <i>more than two years<\/i>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">\u00a0<iframe loading=\"lazy\" style=\"border: none; overflow: hidden;\" src=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/plugins\/video.php?height=476&amp;href=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.facebook.com%2Fmrsbevelynwilliams%2Fvideos%2F1137267491112212%2F&amp;show_text=true&amp;width=268&amp;t=0\" width=\"268\" height=\"591\" frameborder=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>A wife and mother of a young daughter, Williams was ecstatic and grateful to be reunited with them after three long months. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/mrsbevelynwilliams\/videos\/1137267491112212\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Video<\/a> shared on Facebook shows the emotional moment that Bevelyn was reunited with her family. She hugged and kissed her husband and daughter and the three had huge smiles on their faces.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I&#8217;m home. I&#8217;m free!&#8221; she said. &#8220;I&#8217;m free, ya&#8217;ll. I&#8217;m free. I&#8217;m really free!&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Thank you, Jesus. The Lord is Good!&#8221; said her husband Ricky.<\/p>\n<p>Williams is now home, spending time with her family, and has <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/mrsbevelynwilliams\/posts\/pfbid02jZyZZnWXHxLpKKw9y86eHqwqW3FsYCwYy7hqxvBj6dBt1FaDL59dR2AGGHKBnKEAl\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">asked<\/a> for everyone&#8217;s patience as she is &#8220;spiritually and emotionally exhausted.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Herb Geraghty<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>On October 14, 2022, Herb Geraghty was\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.justice.gov\/opa\/pr\/pennsylvania-man-indicted-freedom-access-clinic-entrances-act-and-conspiracy-against-rights\">indicted<\/a>\u00a0on federal\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/atheist-pro-lifer-indicted-face-act-doj\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">charges<\/a> under the FACE Act stemming from a pro-life <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/nine-pro-life-activists-arrested-fbi-dc\/\">rescue<\/a> that had taken place at the Washington Surgi-Clinic abortion facility in Washington, D.C., on October 22, 2020. Geraghty was sentenced to 27 months in prison. Since she began her rescue work, she has been arrested more than 200 times and has spent more than six years combined in prison as a result, including a combined two and a half years in solitary confinement.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">Joan Bell has been pardoned and released from federal custody. Like her fellow activists, Bell was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.justice.gov\/opa\/pr\/nine-defendants-indicted-federal-civil-rights-conspiracy-and-freedom-access-clinic-entrances\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">charged<\/a> with conspiracy against rights and a FACE Act offense. For that activism, Bell was sentenced to 27 months in prison with credit for time served.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">\u00a0<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"YouTube video player\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/RiTd0lIa6l8?si=-R28i6eYCvwRvGra\" width=\"640\" height=\"355\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><span data-mce-type=\"bookmark\" style=\"display: inline-block; width: 0px; overflow: hidden; line-height: 0;\" class=\"mce_SELRES_start\">\ufeff<\/span><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Upon her release in the early morning hours on Friday, Bell made her way to the 52nd annual March for Life in Washington D.C. to march for the right to life of preborn babies. During the march, she told LifeSiteNews, &#8220;Just being released on the day of the March for Life, it&#8217;s so incredible. Yesterday, I didn&#8217;t know I was gonna be getting out. I had no idea or anything like that. Thought it was probably not gonna happen and then all of a sudden, I hear we&#8217;re being released. It was just amazing. Just so amazing. And to get released on this day, the day of the March for Life. It&#8217;s just incredible.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">\u00a0<iframe loading=\"lazy\" style=\"border: none; overflow: hidden;\" src=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/plugins\/post.php?href=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.facebook.com%2Fchristopher.bell.754365%2Fposts%2Fpfbid0brYTggG3CEpW5iw3QsqxwqFSHrSckseX35W7cCBSxTYDK9JwENFkoeNsZDWbb98pl&amp;show_text=true&amp;width=500\" width=\"500\" height=\"646\" frameborder=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Her husband, Chris, wrote on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/christopher.bell.754365\/posts\/pfbid0brYTggG3CEpW5iw3QsqxwqFSHrSckseX35W7cCBSxTYDK9JwENFkoeNsZDWbb98pl\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Facebook<\/a>, &#8220;President Trump kept another promise and freed my wife along with other prolifers unjustly persecuted by the Biden Department for Justice for peacefully trying to help mothers have their babies and not be scared [sic] for life after a late-term abortion.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Lauren Handy<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Lauren Handy received the longest sentence of the pro-life activists, being sentenced to 57 months \u2014 nearly five years \u2014 in prison for her part in the pro-life rescue work at Washington Surgi-Center.
