A 23-year-old pregnant Georgia woman is behind bars after police say<\/a> she killed her one-year-old son.<\/p>\n

Gloria Wright was arrested in Rochester, New York, after fleeing her home state. Authorities say on January 8, first responders were called to a home after Wright’s young son was found not breathing. Emergency personnel tried to resuscitate the boy, but he later died at the hospital. After the event, the child’s death was ruled a homicide, with investigators saying he died from blunt force trauma to the head.<\/p>\n

\u201cA telephone call with the medical examiner who assisted in the autopsy did conclude that the acute skull fractures were not the result of an accidental fall or drop,\u201d according to a warrant, reported<\/a> WSB-TV.<\/p>\n

Police interviewed Wright on the day of the incident, but did not arrest her at that time. Days later, after the medical examiner’s report, they learned she had disappeared. This set off a nearly two-week manhunt, in which a $5,000 reward was offered for information on her whereabouts. According to a January 18 statement from Rockdale County Sherriff’s Office, she was found in Rochester, New York, with the help of U.S. Marshals.<\/p>\n
