Harrison had warned that he would file legislation to defund the Texas Medical Board if Bredt was not removed from his position on the board.<\/p>\n<p><strong>1\/3\/25:<\/strong> On Monday, a <a href=\"https:\/\/texasscorecard.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/12\/bowden_mary_md_23-0155_tmb-m-for-leave-to-designate-exp-oot-and-expert-designation_dr.-bredt-1.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">document<\/a> from a legal filing <a href=\"https:\/\/texasscorecard.com\/state\/state-reps-call-on-texas-medical-board-to-terminate-director-who-works-for-planned-parenthood\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">revealed<\/a> that the medical director of the Texas Medical Board, Dr. Robert Bredt, is employed by America&#8217;s abortion giant, Planned Parenthood. State representatives are now calling for him to be removed from the board.<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Bredt has acted as medical director of the Texas Medical Board since 2012 and has been working for Planned Parenthood of South Texas Laboratory since 2011, overseeing the operation and administration of the lab. Induced abortion \u2014 the direct and intentional killing of preborn children \u2014 was legal in Texas through September 2021.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTexans expect the Texas Medical Board to uphold the highest standards of ethics and impartiality,\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/RepBriscoeCain\/status\/1873900972420063516\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"external noopener noreferrer\" data-wpel-link=\"external\">said State Rep. Briscoe Cain<\/a>. \u201cThe fact an individual responsible for regulating the practice of medicine in Texas also works for Planned Parenthood\u2014a criminal organization that profits from murdering babies\u2014stands in direct conflict with the laws of our nation and our state\u2019s pro-life values. This is unacceptable.
