At the same time, the corporation&#8217;s own reports reveal many of its actual health care services have been in decline, even as taxpayer funding to the abortion organization has skyrocketed to the highest amounts on record.<\/p>\n<p>In a recent op-ed <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wsj.com\/opinion\/musk-and-ramaswamy-the-doge-plan-to-reform-government-supreme-court-guidance-end-executive-power-grab-fa51c020?mod=hp_opin_pos_0\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">published<\/a> by the Wall Street Journal (WSJ), Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/musk-ramaswamy-defunding-planned-parenthood-trump\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">indicated<\/a> that defunding Planned Parenthood might be on their radar of the newly created Department of Government Efficiency, or DOGE.\u00a0A <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/top-myths-debunked-planned-parenthood\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">previous<\/a> Live Action News analysis found that Planned Parenthood\u2019s female clientele represented <strong>just\u00a0<\/strong><em><strong>2 percent<\/strong>\u00a0of the U.S. female population<\/em> of reproductive age \u2014 indicating that if Planned Parenthood were completely defunded it would not have the devastating impact the eugenics founded organization&#8217;s political and media allies have claimed.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Planned Parenthood&#8217;s funding and services over the past decade\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In the past decade (from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.plannedparenthood.org\/files\/7413\/9620\/1089\/AR-FY13_111213_vF_rev3_ISSUU.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">2012-2013<\/a> to <a href=\"https:\/\/cdn.plannedparenthood.org\/uploads\/filer_public\/ec\/f4\/ecf43d92-fcd2-4d11-b299-e67b5c3ac394\/2024-ppfa-annualreport-c3-digital.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">2022-2023<\/a>), as taxpayer funding to Planned Parenthood rose over 29%, from $540.6 million to nearly $700 million, Planned Parenthood abortions also increased over 20%, from 327,166 to 392,715 \u2014 the highest number of abortions reported by the corporation.<\/p>\n<p>In addition, over the past 10 years, excess revenue over spending (profit) at the abortion corporation ballooned from $58.2 million to $178.6 million \u2014 an increase of nearly <strong><em>207%<\/em><\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Healthcare services at Planned Parenthood also decreased over the past decade:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Total services decreased over 16%<\/strong>, from 10.9 million to 9.1 million.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Clients decreased by 30%<\/strong>,\u00a0from 3 million to 2.1 million.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Facilities decreased by 25%<\/strong>, from 800 to 600.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Donors decreased nearly 14%<\/strong>, from 669,000 to 576,000.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Prenatal care decreased a whopping 68%<\/strong>, from 19,506 prenatal services to just 6,316.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Contraceptive services decreased nearly 40%<\/strong>, from 3.7 million to 2.2 million.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Cancer screenings<\/strong> and prevention services<strong> plummeted nearly 59%<\/strong>, from 1.1 million to just over 464,000.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Breast care<\/strong> (not including mammograms, which Planned Parenthood does not perform) <strong>dropped nearly 62%<\/strong>, from 549,804 to 212,655.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Pap tests decreased nearly 60%<\/strong>, from 492,365 to 197,617.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Adoption referrals decreased nearly 22%<\/strong>, from 2,197 to 1,721.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Most starkly, in just the past decade, Planned Parenthood has committed about 3.8 million abortions while receiving over $6.5 billion in taxpayer funding.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_322817\" style=\"width: 416px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img report\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In its most recent annual report for <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/record-breaking-planned-parenthood-annual-abortions-400k\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">2022-23<\/a>, Planned Parenthood <a href=\"https:\/\/cdn.plannedparenthood.org\/uploads\/filer_public\/ec\/f4\/ecf43d92-fcd2-4d11-b299-e67b5c3ac394\/2024-ppfa-annualreport-c3-digital.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">boasted<\/a> a \u201cyear of moving mountains,\u201d with abortions climbing to a record high (392,715 abortions), while <em>clients decreased<\/em>\u00a0\u2014 and taxpayer funding hit nearly $700 million.<\/p>\n<p>Planned Parenthood currently holds 40% of the U.S. abortion market share; <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/overwhelming-majority-planned-parenthood-abortions-pill\/\">70% of the abortions it commits<\/a> are done by <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/abortion-data-2800-daily\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">abortion pill<\/a> (nearly 275,000 sales estimated yearly).<\/p>\n<p>Planned Parenthood abortions now average <strong>1,076 every day, nearly 45 every hour, and one every 80 seconds<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>As of <a href=\"https:\/\/cdn.plannedparenthood.org\/uploads\/filer_public\/ec\/f4\/ecf43d92-fcd2-4d11-b299-e67b5c3ac394\/2024-ppfa-annualreport-c3-digital.pdf\">June 30, 2023<\/a>, Planned Parenthood had accumulated over $2 billion in total revenue, up from $1.9 billion in revenue reported as of <a href=\"https:\/\/cdn.plannedparenthood.org\/uploads\/filer_public\/25\/ed\/25ed2675-fbbc-453b-8b35-f8ddaa025b57\/281222-ppfa-annualreport-c3-digital.pdf\">June 30, 2022<\/a>. Expenses as of the end of June 2023 tallied over $1.8 billion.\u00a0To date, Planned Parenthood\u2019s total balance sheet (ending on June 30, 2023) shows that the organization\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/cdn.plannedparenthood.org\/uploads\/filer_public\/ec\/f4\/ecf43d92-fcd2-4d11-b299-e67b5c3ac394\/2024-ppfa-annualreport-c3-digital.pdf\">net assets and liabilities<\/a> have risen to over <i><strong>$2.9 billion<\/strong> \u2014<\/i>\u00a0the highest recorded in recent years.<\/p>\n<p>Planned Parenthood currently receives over <b>$1.9 million dollars from U.S. taxpayers daily<\/b>, while serving fewer clients and decreasing legitimate health services (according to its 2022-23 report).<\/p>\n<p><strong>In nearly 25 years, Planned Parenthood has nearly doubled its abortions<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Planned Parenthood abortions have increased nearly 100%, from 197,070 (<a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/record-breaking-planned-parenthood-annual-abortions-400k\/\">2000-01<\/a>) to 392,715 (<a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/record-breaking-planned-parenthood-annual-abortions-400k\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">2022-23<\/a>).<\/li>\n<li>Taxpayer funding to the abortion behemoth has increased by 245%, from $202.7 million received in 2000 to nearly $700 million in its most recent report.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Tragically, Planned Parenthood has committed over 7.1 million abortions since 2000, all while receiving\u00a0nearly <b><i>$10.7 billion<\/i><\/b> in federal taxpayer dollars.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_322815\" style=\"width: 481px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-322815\" decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\" wp-image-322815\" src=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/12\/Planned-Parenthood-Abortions-since-2000-2000-2001-through-2022-2023.jpg\" alt=\"Planned Parenthood Abortions since 2000 (2000-2001 through 2022-2023)\" width=\"471\" height=\"744\" srcset=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/12\/Planned-Parenthood-Abortions-since-2000-2000-2001-through-2022-2023.jpg 655w, https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/12\/Planned-Parenthood-Abortions-since-2000-2000-2001-through-2022-2023-190x300.jpg 190w, https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/12\/Planned-Parenthood-Abortions-since-2000-2000-2001-through-2022-2023-443x700.jpg 443w, https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/12\/Planned-Parenthood-Abortions-since-2000-2000-2001-through-2022-2023-500x790.jpg 500w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 471px) 100vw, 471px\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-322815\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Planned Parenthood Abortions since 2000 (2000-2001 through 2022-2023)<\/p><\/div>\n<p><strong>Planned Parenthood&#8217;s highs and lows<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Over the years, while Planned Parenthood&#8217;s abortions and government funding increased, healthcare services at Planned Parenthood <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/record-breaking-planned-parenthood-annual-abortions-400k\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">decreased<\/a>. Below is a list of how much each of these Planned Parenthood services has dropped since its peak year:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Prenatal care<\/strong>: <strong><em>D<\/em><i>own<\/i> <em>80%<\/em><\/strong> since 2010.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Adoption referrals<\/strong>: <strong><em>Down nearly 65%<\/em><\/strong> since <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/04\/2007-2008-Planned-Parenthood-Annual-Report.pdf\">2007<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li><strong>STI testing and treatment<\/strong>: <strong><em>Down 15%<\/em><\/strong> since 2019.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Client numbers<\/strong>: <em><strong>Down 34%<\/strong><\/em> since 2006.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Donors<\/strong>: <em><strong>Down 21%<\/strong><\/em> since last year.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Contraceptive services<\/strong>: <em><strong>Down 44%<\/strong><\/em> since 2009.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Breast screenings (manual breast exams)<\/strong>: <em><strong>Down over 80%<\/strong><\/em> since <a href=\"https:\/\/www.centerformedicalprogress.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/2000_-_2001.pdf\">2000<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Pap tests<\/strong>: <em><strong>Down over 83%<\/strong><\/em> since <a href=\"https:\/\/www.liveaction.org\/research\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/06\/2005-2006-Planned-Parenthood-Annual-Report.pdf\">2004<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Total cancer screenings<\/strong> (Pap and Breast exams): <em><strong>Down nearly 79%<\/strong><\/em> since <a href=\"https:\/\/www.liveaction.org\/research\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/06\/2005-2006-Planned-Parenthood-Annual-Report.pdf\">2004<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Planned Parenthood now commits over 228 abortions for every <i>one<\/i> adoption referral, and 62 abortions for every <i>one<\/i> prenatal care service they provide.<\/p>\n<p><b>Government Accountability Office reveals billions to Planned Parenthood<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Government Accountability Office (GAO) reports published in the past few years have revealed that from <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/three-abortion-groups-whopping-2-billion-taxpayers\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">2016-2018<\/a>, Planned Parenthood Federation of America (PPFA) received $1.6 billion in federal taxpayer dollars from HHS, averaging $533 million per year ($304 million through grants or cooperative agreements and $1.3 billion from Medicare, Medicaid, and CHIP).<\/p>\n<p>Then, from <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/abortion-groups-2b-taxpayer-funding-3-years\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">2019-2021<\/a>, the GOA reported that PPFA received $1.78 billion in federal taxpayer funding in just those three years, while Planned Parenthood abortions totaled $1.1 million within those same three years.<\/p>\n<p>Members of Congress <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/congress-gao-report-federal-funding-abortion-providers\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">recently requested<\/a> for the GAO to provide them with updated numbers for the years 2022-2024.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Planned Parenthood&#8217;s abuses<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Accusations of multiple <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/planned-parenthoods-abuses-piling-up\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">abuses, fraud<\/a>, and reports of <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/look-2020-racism-white-supremacy-abortion-industry\/\">racism<\/a> from current and former employees of Planned Parenthood continue to mount; still the abortion corporation continues to receive millions in federal taxpayer funding. These abuses include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Being founded as a <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/planned-parenthoods-connections-to-eugenics\/\">eugenics-promoting organization<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/7-ways-planned-parenthood-deceptive-marketing\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Misleading<\/a> women with false and deceptive marketing<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/report-planned-parenthood-found-engaging-in-medicaid-fraud\/\">Being<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/audits-show-planned-parenthood-non-compliant-with-federal-discount-drug-program\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" fraud<\/a>, and for\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/private-information-planned-parenthood\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?hl=en&amp;q=https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/private-information-planned-parenthood\/&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1535650683098000&amp;usg=AFQjCNHr_PYWw7SgSUik6Z2MSKEgG3ANOw\">violating<\/a> patient privacy<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=ekgiScr364Y\">Lying about the services it provides<\/a>, including prenatal care<\/li>\n<li>Claiming to provide mammograms, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=tu_0-iD-rPk\">when it does not<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=Byb6ibQb4Nc\">Misinforming women<\/a>\u00a0about the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=Byb6ibQb4Nc\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?hl=en&amp;q=https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v%3DByb6ibQb4Nc&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1535650683098000&amp;usg=AFQjCNGNMLnIb8zKsKj8R1gPzz-oGA7rEA\">development<\/a> of their preborn babies<\/li>\n<li>Offering a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.liveaction.org\/abortioncorporation\/\">poor standard of care<\/a> for clients, with former managers accusing them of \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=0PUFJwiHlJM\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" sexual abuse<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Myths about Planned Parenthood<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In addition to Planned Parenthood&#8217;s abuses, there are a number of misleading myths about Planned Parenthood that persist. Live Action News previously detailed many of those <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/top-myths-debunked-planned-parenthood\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">here<\/a>, including:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Myth #1: \u201cPlanned Parenthood is about health care. Abortion is only a tiny fraction of what they do.\u201d<\/li>\n<li>Myth #2: \u201cPlanned Parenthood is one of the main places women go for prenatal care.\u201d<\/li>\n<li>Myth #3: \u201cPlanned Parenthood offers mammograms.\u201d<\/li>\n<li>Myth #4: \u201cA large percentage of women rely on Planned Parenthood for their health care.\u201d<\/li>\n<li>Myth #5: \u201cIf Planned Parenthood is defunded, women will have nowhere else to go.\u201d<\/li>\n<li>Myth #6: \u201cPlanned Parenthood\u2019s founder was just a product of her times. The organization isn\u2019t racist.\u201d<\/li>\n<li>Myth #7: \u201cPlanned Parenthood is not political.\u201d<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Abortion increases, multiple abuses and allegations, and an array of decreasing services at Planned Parenthood should not translate into more taxpayer dollars to the organization.
