Thanksgiving is an American holiday celebrated on the last Thursday of November each year. In 1863, President Abraham Lincoln declared it to be a national holiday to be celebrated annually, remembering how, as the Old Farmer’s Almanac puts it, “In the 1600s, settlers in Massachusetts and Virginia held feasts to express gratitude for survival, fertile fields, and their faith. The Pilgrims in Plymouth, Massachusetts, had their\u00a0Thanksgiving feast in 1621<\/a> with the Wampanoag Native\u00a0Americans.”<\/p>\n

Thanksgiving traditions today may not always include the history of that first celebratory feast, but it is a time when many express gratefulness for the blessings they have received from God’s hand, and for the people in their lives. But when a family has a precious baby in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) during the holidays, it can be a difficult time for them.<\/p>\n

To help bring some smiles and cheer, many NICU nurses choose to dress the babies in costumes \u2014 and you just can’t help but want to “gobble” up all this cuteness!<\/p>\n

Baylor Scott & White Health in Texas posted photos<\/a> of their NICU babies<\/a> to their “Tiniest Texans: Stuffed with Thanks! Edition” media page on November 25th, writing, “Thankful, blessed and mashed potato obsessed! These Texas families are stuffed with thanks as they welcome their newborns and cheer on the Dallas Cowboys! Our team at Baylor Scott & White wishes you an enjoyable feast and gameday this Thanksgiving holiday.”<\/p>\n
