{"id":321766,"date":"2024-11-18T10:50:21","date_gmt":"2024-11-18T16:50:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.liveaction.org\/news\/?p=321766"},"modified":"2024-11-18T20:57:03","modified_gmt":"2024-11-19T02:57:03","slug":"utter-exhilaration-late-term-abortionist-describes-work","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/utter-exhilaration-late-term-abortionist-describes-work\/","title":{"rendered":"&#8216;Utter exhilaration&#8217;: An infamous late-term abortionist describes his &#8216;work&#8217;"},"content":{"rendered":"<div style=\"margin-top: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px;\" class=\"sharethis-inline-share-buttons\" ><\/div><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Retired abortionist Curtis Boyd, who committed as many as <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/curtis-boyd-memoirs-death-ended-career\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">250,000<\/span><\/a> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">abortions, including abortions on viable third-trimester babies, gave <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=dp6zg1uGC0o\">a talk<\/a> in Washington, D.C., last month at a bookstore with his wife, retired psychologist Glenna Halvorson-Boyd, who \u2018counseled\u2019 her husband\u2019s patients. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The two discussed their recently published <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/curtis-boyd-memoirs-death-ended-career\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">memoirs<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, &#8220;<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">We Choose To,<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">&#8221; during the talk, and made several shocking statements about their experiences and feelings about abortion \u2014 including admitting to feeling \u201cutter exhilaration\u201d and \u201clove\u201d for abortion work.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"YouTube video player\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/dp6zg1uGC0o?si=Q-Et_NR8adk1Id38\" width=\"640\" height=\"355\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><span data-mce-type=\"bookmark\" style=\"display: inline-block; width: 0px; overflow: hidden; line-height: 0;\" class=\"mce_SELRES_start\">\ufeff<\/span><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><strong>Killing babies was &#8220;euphoric&#8221; and &#8220;utter exhilaration&#8221;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Boyd compared the happiness he experienced in killing preborn babies to the joy of delivering live babies and giving babies to their families.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cIt was utter exhilaration,&#8221; he said, describing committing abortions. &#8220;I never had that feeling other than delivering babies,\u201d Boyd said. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Boyd further described the exhilaration he felt when fulfilling women\u2019s desires to kill their children, emphasizing his initial comparison of abortion to childbirth.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201c[During birth], the child comes out. It\u2019s alive and healthy\u2026 it\u2019s very exhilarating. This [abortion] was like that for me\u2026 It was exhilarating for the families and the women. This euphoric feeling, so liberating for them \u2013 the power it gave them\u2026 controlling their own life\u2026 just to kind of guide their destiny.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Halvorson-Boyd similarly voiced her enthusiasm for abortion work, talking about the couple\u2019s stubborn persistence in committing late-term abortions at their facilities \u2013 Southwestern Women\u2019s Options in Albuquerque and Southwestern Women\u2019s Surgery Center in Dallas \u2013 for decades, even after an arson attack and patient deaths.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cOnce I started doing the work, I fell in <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">love<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> with the work,\u201d Halvorson-Boyd said.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cWhen the awful things started happening, that stubborn little girl in me [said]\u2026 \u2018You will not win\u2026 I will not be intimidated. I will not be denied, neither will our patients and we will see to that,\u2019\u201d Halvorson-Boyd said. She described her attitude as a symptom of \u201cpissy\u201d feminism.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Both Boyd and his wife discussed how they used \u201clove\u201d to keep their abortion businesses running. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cWe tried to develop this culture of love,\u201d Boyd said.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Boyd claimed compassion as his motivating force. \u201cYou [an abortion worker] have to care about helping people\u2026 you have to have compassion\u2026 that was what drove me,\u201d Boyd claimed during the recent talk.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>A long career based on false compassion<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0This bookstore talk was not the first time Boyd used his idea of compassion to justify his actions. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">He also appealed to his own warped idea of &#8220;compassion&#8221; during his <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/late-term-abortionist-curtis-boyd-age-limit-kill\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">deposition<\/span><\/a> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">for the lawsuit that shut down his business, and in an <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/curtis-boyd-memoirs-death-ended-career\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">interview<\/span><\/a>\u00a0<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">during which he admitted he was \u201ckilling,\u201d but that he always prayed that the spirits of the babies he aborted \u201cwould be returned to God with love, with understanding.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Boyd may have tried to use \u201clove\u201d and \u201cunderstanding\u201d when committing abortions, but the fact is, he intentionally killed<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> hundreds of thousands<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> of fully formed preborn infants, who were capable of surviving outside the womb. Not only that \u2013 he <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/abortionist-killing-babies-harvests-organs\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">harvested these babies\u2019 organs<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and donated them to the University of New Mexico for research and experimentation. Eventually, Boyd and the University of New Mexico came under <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/fbi-investigate-fetal-tissue-new-mexico\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">investigation<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> after the gruesome baby parts trafficking business was <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/newspaper-editorial-board-hammers-university-new-mexico-fetal-tissue-research-ethics\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">revealed <\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">to the public. The University of New Mexico was forced to end its commerce with Southwestern Women\u2019s Options.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Attorney Mike Seibel also brought two lawsuits against Boyd: <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/woman-sues-new-mexico-abortion-facility-for-violating-informed-consent\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">one<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> on behalf of Jessica Duran, a mother whose aborted child\u2019s remains were donated by Southwestern Women\u2019s Options to the University of New Mexico without her informed consent, and <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/lawsuit-abortionists-unm-abortion-death\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">another<\/span><\/a> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">on behalf of Tina Atkins and Nicole Atkins, mother and sister of 23-year-old Keisha Atkins, who <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/amber-thurman-pro-abortion-state-keisha-atkins\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">died<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> after a late abortion (at around six months pregnant) she received at Southwestern Women\u2019s Options.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Seibel was profoundly moved by the evil he perceived in Boyd and what the self-proclaimed former Baptist minister was doing, and has dedicated his life to fighting this evil.\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">As previously <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/infamous-new-mexico-abortion-third-trimester\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">reported<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> by Live Action News, Seibel first heard about Boyd\u2019s late-term abortion empire in 2015,\u00a0 when Boyd <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=bfWB7tcAdhw\">claimed<\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> he was sending the \u201cspirit\u201d of the babies he killed \u201cto God with love and understanding.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cI was so mad \u2014 it was so blasphemous, I knew I had to do something,\u201d Seibel said. As a result, \u201cFor seven and a half years I have fought Boyd because I find it despicable that a doctor would do any abortion, but more despicable that he would perform a third trimester abortion on a viable, healthy baby.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Seibel went on to win a <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/abortion-facility-responsible-keisha-atkins-death-settlement\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">lawsuit<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> against Boyd and his abortionist employees over Keisha Atkins\u2019 death as a result of the actions of Southwestern Women\u2019s Options. Seibel\u2019s actions eventually helped bring about the<\/span> <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/notorious-later-abortion-business-new-ownership\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">toppling<\/span><\/a> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">of Boyd\u2019s late-term abortion empire, eventually leading to the closure of Boyd&#8217;s business in Dallas and the sale of his business in New Mexico.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In his <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/curtis-boyd-memoirs-death-ended-career\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">memoirs<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, Boyd describes the Atkins lawsuit as an \u201cemotional toll on our doctors and staff\u2026 greater than I can calculate.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is astounding to watch Boyd and his wife applauding their own careers in killing viable preborn children at a D.C. bookstore like beloved, admired celebrities.
