Connecticut’s Attorney General announced<\/a> the launch of a new abortion hotline on Friday on the premise that women in the state should be “scared” that they may no longer be able to kill their preborn children following the 2024 election.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve gotten a bunch of texts from people that they\u2019re scared,\u201d said Attorney General William Tong. \u201cI\u2019m scared too.\u201d<\/p>\n

Tong partnered with the pro-abortion group Reproductive Equity Now (REN) to create the “Connecticut Abortion Legal Hotline,” which offers women pro-bono legal advice and information on how to get an abortion in Connecticut and elsewhere in New England. The hotline, which is paid for by REN, is an expansion of a similar hotline currently operating in Massachusetts.<\/p>\n

\u201cAfter Tuesday’s presidential election, we know that there is a lot of confusion, fear, terror and grief,\u201d said Rebecca Hart Holder, President of REN. \u201cRight now, patients need our support, providers need our guidance. This movement demands bold innovative tenacious state based leadership.”<\/p>\n

Despite the fear-mongering, Connecticut remains a solidly pro-abortion state<\/a>, and officials have done much in the past few years to ensure that women will continue to be able to kill their preborn children with few restrictions.<\/p>\n

Pro-life groups in the state have already spoken out against the hotline’s creation, noting a similar attempt to set up a hotline following the overturn of Roe v. Wade<\/em> quickly failed.<\/p>\n

“Attorney General Tong\u2019s abortion hotline is ‘Exhibit A’ for why President Trump is returning to power. Voters are concerned about grocery bills and rising crime, not some nonexistent threat to abortion,\u201d said<\/a> the Family Institute of Connecticut.<\/p>\n

\u201cAttorney General Tong knows a similar hotline was set up by the legislature a year ago and was discontinued for lack of interest,” noted the Connecticut Catholic Conference. “Tong\u2019s actions here add to a culture of death in our state rather than seeking ways to preserve life from natural conception to natural end.\u201d<\/p>\n
