Two of the people who participated are Dr. Anthony Levatino, a former abortionist who estimates he committed nearly 1,200 abortions, and Melissa Ohden, who survived an attempted saline abortion at 31 weeks gestation.<\/p>\n<p>In the video, Levatino discusses how this exact situation is even more likely to occur with the most common abortion method used today.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I&#8217;m listening to your abortion story about your mom, who was projected to be what \u2014 18 or 19 weeks pregnant? And she was actually 31,&#8221; Levatino said to Ohden. &#8220;This is a medical term that is not complimentary. What kind of barber doesn&#8217;t know the difference between a 19-week and a 31-week pregnancy? We did ultrasounds on every single one of our abortion patients. That was part of our evaluation to make sure we never got in that situation.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>However, Levatino is concerned this could happen more often today.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I hear now about medical abortion or chemical abortion being done with internet websites where your contact with the patient is limited to either a video chat or text,&#8221; he continued. &#8220;You cannot adequately determine gestational age on video chat. You cannot tell if a patient may be carrying an ectopic pregnancy on a video chat. This is dangerous and this is being promoted.&#8221;<\/p>\n<div class=\"video-container\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Ex-Abortion Provider Admits Dangerous Practices Happening In Abortion Industry\" width=\"1000\" height=\"563\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/KLJW7f15bmo?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Levatino is correct; the abortion industry has been increasingly promoting the DIY, at-home, <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/no-test-contact-abortion-covid-works-time\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">no-test protocol<\/a> for chemical abortions, despite the potential risks.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/lozierinstitute.org\/chemical-abortion-fda-ignores-inconvenient-science-and-data-confirming-public-health-threat\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Peer-reviewed studies<\/a> have found risks of <a href=\"https:\/\/s27319.pcdn.co\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/Deaths-and-Severe-Adverse-Events-after-the-use-of-Mifepristone-as-an-Abortifacient-from-September-2000-to-February-2019-copy5.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">severe side effects<\/a> after chemical abortions, including hemorrhage, sepsis, and death. The abortion pill regimen is reportedly <a href=\"https:\/\/pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/19888037\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">four times more dangerous<\/a> than first-trimester surgical abortions, and the FDA\u2019s 2023 mifepristone <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/emergency-room-visits-abortion-pill-tens-thouands\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">label<\/a> showed that a range of 2.9 to 4.6 percent of women report to the ER for complications after taking the abortion pill regimen. Another <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/telabortion-abortion-pill-study-increased-complications-er\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">study<\/a> showed that 6% of women who participated had abortion pill complications severe enough to visit either an urgent care center or a hospital emergency room.<\/p>\n<p>Furthermore, mifepristone \u2014 the first drug in the two-drug abortion pill regimen \u2014 has a <a href=\"https:\/\/health.clevelandclinic.org\/what-does-it-mean-if-my-medication-has-a-black-box-warning\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">black box warning<\/a> about various potential side effects, including sepsis.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"YouTube video player\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/gnEHZiud8dg?si=58GMlxb0bjPdMxfP\" width=\"640\" height=\"355\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><span data-mce-type=\"bookmark\" style=\"display: inline-block; width: 0px; overflow: hidden; line-height: 0;\" class=\"mce_SELRES_start\">\ufeff<\/span><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>And, as Levatino pointed out, prescribers cannot rule out contraindications like ectopic pregnancy or advanced gestation without an ultrasound. Ectopic pregnancy is a life-threatening complication.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to these safety issues, prescribing the abortion pill without any in-person visit puts women at <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/mail-order-abortion-profiteers-coercion-myth\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">higher risk for coercion<\/a>.
