Laura Dern, the acclaimed actress known for her roles in films like \u201cJurassic Park\u201d and \u201cMarriage Story,\u201d recently announced that she has teamed up with Vestiaire Collective for a closet sale specifically designed to funnel money to Planned Parenthood.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

According to the <\/span>Hollywood Reporter<\/span><\/a>, the online company recently discussed Dern’s sale: \u201cA longtime champion of circular fashion and of Planned Parenthood, Dern has curated pieces from her wardrobe for this special sale, which she hopes will bring attention to reducing the stigma around sexual and reproductive health care, including abortion.\u201d <\/span><\/p>\n

As noted on social media and <\/span>the company\u2019s <\/span>website<\/span><\/a>, <\/span>Vestiaire has been offering “pre-LOVED” designer attire for 15 years. The company offers <\/span>second-hand, premium, and luxury pieces at reduced prices.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Laura Dern\u2019s closet sale<\/span><\/a>, which features a selection of items from brands like Gucci, Stella McCartney, and Oscar de la Renta, aims to raise funds to directly benefit Planned Parenthood, the largest single abortion provider in the United States.<\/span><\/p>\n

Items in the closet sale that have already sold include a Stella McCartney Jersey Tee, Derek Lam Dresses, Missoni Tank Tops, Roger Vivier Heels in animal print and chic, and a red Calvin Klein Double-Breasted Blazer. Other pieces for sale included a Vampire\u2019s Wife Glitter Maxi Dress for $918, and a pair of Sacai Straight Pants for $183.75.<\/span><\/p>\n

Dern announced the closet sale on Monday by <\/span>writing on Instagram<\/span><\/a>, \u201c<\/span>To help support reproductive freedom, I\u2019ve donated a few pieces from my closet to <\/span>@vestiaireco<\/span><\/a> to help raise money for <\/span>@plannedparenthood<\/span><\/a>. <\/span>Vestiaire Collective is also donating to <\/span>@plannedparenthood<\/span><\/a> as well.<\/span> Everyone deserves healthcare that\u2019s free of shame, stigma, or judgment. <\/span>#BansOffOurBodies<\/span><\/a>.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

But “reproductive freedom,” as Live Action News previously noted<\/a>, “denotes the freedom to reproduce\u2026 or not<\/em> reproduce. Not to kill. Once fertilization has occurred, reproduction has already happened<\/em>. Therefore, abortion cannot reasonably be considered ‘reproductive freedom’ or a ‘reproductive right.'”<\/p>\n
