A micro-preemie born at 24 weeks and weighing less than two pounds was <\/span>cleared to go home<\/span><\/a> after 147 days<\/span> in the NICU at New York University Langone Hospital.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The miracle baby, Shyne Graham, was supposed to be born around Mother\u2019s Day but had to be delivered via emergency C-section on January 24<\/span>\u00a0w<\/span>hen her mother, <\/span>Phaebe Turner, began bleeding and experiencing contractions four months early. She was understandably scared, because she had previously experienced a miscarriage on Mother\u2019s Day in 2022. It has been established that a <\/span>previous miscarriage can <\/span>increase<\/span><\/a> the risk of premature birth<\/span> in future pregnancies, and that <\/span>premature births have been <\/span>increasing<\/span><\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n

When Turner arrived at the hospital on January 24<\/span>, everything happened quickly, and she was rushed off for an emergency c-section, not realizing her daughter had been delivered when she woke up. <\/span>Looking back, she <\/span>recalled<\/span><\/a>,\u00a0\u201cI remember waking up from surgery in a fog, and people were saying, \u2018Congratulations.\u2019 I said, \u2018For what?\u2019\u201d Turner recalled. \u201cI was shell shocked.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0
