Consider the following exchange between a statesman and the representative from Planned Parenthood:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Florida Statesman:\u00a0 It\u2019s just really hard for me to ask you this question because I\u2019m almost in disbelief.\u00a0 If a baby is born on a table as a result of a blotched abortion, what would Planned Parenthood want to have happen to that child who is struggling for life?<\/p>\n<p>Planned Parenthood:\u00a0 We believe that any decision that\u2019s made should be left up to the woman, her family, and the physician.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>A few moments later, the question was repeated by another statesman, and the same answer was given:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Florida Statesman:\u00a0 You stated that a baby born on a table as a result of a blotched abortion \u2013 that that decision should be left to the doctor and the family.\u00a0 Is that what you are saying?<\/p>\n<p>Planned Parenthood:\u00a0 That decision should be between the patient and the healthcare provider.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>This is an incredibly significant statement for understanding the ideology which energizes Planned Parenthood.<\/p>\n<p>In discourse with the public, Planned Parenthood routinely offers the following justifications for the violence of abortion:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Abortion is necessary for the health of the mother. Making abortion illegal would be dangerous for women.<\/li>\n<li>Abortion laws violate a woman\u2019s bodily autonomy. The state should never tell a woman what to do with her body.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>We have all seen various forms of these two arguments plastered on bumper stickers, picket signs, and t-shirts. But this exchange in the Florida legislature reveals that for Planned Parenthood, these two arguments are truly insignificant. They are merely distractions intended to confuse the public, for when the baby is on the table, writhing and struggling, neither of these arguments is applicable.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Once the baby is outside the mother, no one can possibly claim that sticking scissors into the baby or tossing her into a trashcan will promote the health of the mother.<\/li>\n<li>Once the baby is outside the mother, no one can possibly claim that caring for the child will violate the mother\u2019s bodily autonomy.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>And yet Planned Parenthood maintains that, even when the baby is on the table, the mother should still have the option to kill her.<\/p>\n<p>The real motivation behind Planned Parenthood\u2019s fanatical insistence on the legalization of abortion before, during, and after birth is therefore neither the health nor the bodily autonomy of the mother. The real motivation goes much deeper. Planned Parenthood denies the notion of moral authority. The organization is utterly committed to the ideology of absolute personal freedom, particularly with regard to sex.<\/p>\n<p>The banner across the Facebook page of Florida\u2019s Planned Parenthood reads: \u201cWe Care. Deeply. With Respect. Without Judgment.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Without judgment.
