Wade<\/em> with the <em>Dobbs v. Jackson Women&#8217;s Health Organization<\/em> decision in 2022, multiple states led by pro-abortion lawmakers have begun to pass laws intended to protect abortion providers from prosecution by states that have enacted pro-life protections. Other states that have\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/dsc250\/status\/1647710396457910279?s=20\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">proposed or passed<\/a>\u00a0these protections include,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnn.com\/2022\/06\/29\/politics\/delaware-governor-signs-abortion-access-law\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Delaware<\/a>,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.the-journal.com\/articles\/new-mexico-governor-signs-bill-to-shield-abortion-providers\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">New Mexico<\/a>,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/apnews.com\/article\/nevada-abortion-republican-governor-joe-lombardo-83032873a48a8916b7d030191d095bc4\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Nevada<\/a>, as well as the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.attitude.co.uk\/news\/world\/washington-dc-mayor-signs-comprehensive-trans-and-abortion-sanctuary-bill-419677\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">District of Columbia<\/a>\u00a0(D.C.).<\/p>\n<p>Shield laws, however, do not <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/shielding-abortion-providers-consequences-women-risk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">protect women<\/a>, and have been credited for the abortion pill being shipped to 40,000 women in the last half of 2023, according to a <a href=\"https:\/\/societyfp.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/05\/WeCountRelease_5_14_2024.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">#WeCount report<\/a> from May 14, 2024. These Foundations <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/bad-actors-money-trail-abortion-pill-corruption\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">financed<\/a> abortion pill manufacturer Danco Laboratories in its early days.<\/p>\n<p>#WeCount\u2019s\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/societyfp.org\/research\/wecount\/contributors\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">contributors<\/a> include so-called \u201cexperts\u201d from multiple universities, Planned Parenthood and its former \u201cspecial affiliate\u201d the Guttmacher Institute, and Ibis Reproductive Health \u2014 an organization previously <a href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20200130190128\/https:\/\/ibisreproductivehealth.org\/funders\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">funded<\/a>\u00a0by abortion pill manufacturer\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/secrecy-abortion-pill-maker-investors\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Danco<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ibisreproductivehealth.org\/funders\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">currently funded<\/a>\u00a0by both SFP and the Packard Foundation.<\/p>\n<p><strong>#WeCount\u2019s Claims<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>#WeCount research is estimated, and the group is heavily biased toward abortion.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn the 15 states with total or six-week abortion bans, #WeCount estimates that more than 180,000 abortions would have likely been obtained via providers in these states since Dobbs, had abortion not been banned,&#8221; #WeCount\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/societyfp.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/05\/WeCountRelease_5_14_2024.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">wrote<\/a> in its release. &#8220;The states with the greatest cumulative declines in abortion volume over 18 months include Texas, Georgia, Tennessee, Louisiana, and Alabama.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The report claimed that in 2023, five states had some form of shield law for some period of time: Massachusetts, Colorado, Washington, New York, and Vermont.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTelehealth abortions by providers operating under shield law protections averaged 8,000 per month from October to December 2023, making up nearly half of all telehealth abortions counted in #WeCount,&#8221; the report claimed. &#8220;From July-December 2023, over 40,000 people in states with total or 6-week bans, and states with telehealth restrictions have accessed medication abortion provided under shield laws\u2014reinforcing that abortion bans do not eliminate the need for abortion care.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>#WeCount\u2019s report attempts to dismiss the effectiveness of state pro-life protections, putting forth the idea that abortion providers will sell abortion regardless of its legality.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Shielding Abortionists<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>#WeCount\u2019s report found that \u201cby December 2023, providers in states with the protections were prescribing pills to about 6,000 women a month in states where abortion was banned at all stages of pregnancy or once cardiac activity can be detected \u2014 about six weeks, often before women realize they\u2019re pregnant. The prescriptions also were going to about 2,000 women a month in states where the local laws limit abortion pill prescriptions by telemedicine,\u201d ABC News\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/abcnews.go.com\/US\/wireStory\/survey-finds-8000-women-month-abortion-pills-despite-110211418\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">reported<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf a Colorado provider provides telehealth care to a patient who\u2019s in Texas, Colorado will not participate in any Texas criminal action or civil lawsuit,\u201d Drexel University law professor David Cohen told ABC News. \u201cColorado says: \u2018The care that was provided in our state was legal. It follows our laws because the provider was in our state.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Cohen has\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2021\/12\/30\/opinion\/abortion-pills-biden.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">boasted<\/a>\u00a0on\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/dsc250\/status\/1616090496463405057\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Twitter\/X<\/a> that he, Greer Donley (assistant professor of law at the University of Pittsburgh Law School), and Rachel Rebouch\u00e9 (interim dean of Temple University\u2019s Beasley School of Law), were the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2022\/03\/13\/opinion\/missouri-abortion-roe-v-wade.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">visionaries<\/a>\u00a0behind the shield law concept.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Shield Laws Credited for Increased Abortion Totals\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn all, the survey counted about 90,000 monthly surgical or medication abortions offered by medical providers in 2023, higher than the previous year,\u201d\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/abcnews.go.com\/US\/wireStory\/survey-finds-8000-women-month-abortion-pills-despite-110211418\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">ABC News<\/a> noted about #WeCount. The <a href=\"https:\/\/societyfp.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/05\/WeCount-report-6-May-2024-Dec-2023-data_Final.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">report<\/a> attributes a partial increase in 2023 to \u201cabortions being provided under shield laws, starting in July 2023, and #WeCount\u2019s subsequent inclusion of these abortions.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>In\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/abortions-are-skyrocketing-with-a-whopping-63-done-by-abortion-pill-heres-why\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">2023<\/a>, according to the Guttmacher Institute, abortion pill use climbed to 63% of the \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.guttmacher.org\/2024\/03\/despite-bans-number-abortions-united-states-increased-2023\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">estimated<\/a> 1,026,690 abortions [which] occurred in the formal health care system in 2023,\u201d making up\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/overwhelming-majority-planned-parenthood-abortions-pill\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">nearly 70%<\/a> of the abortions Planned Parenthood now reportedly commits.<\/p>\n<p>Guttmacher\u2019s 2023 total reflects\u00a0a 10.38% percent increase over the course of three years \u2014 from 930,160 reported in 2020 to 1,026,690 reported in 2023.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt is important to note that\u00a0<strong>these annual estimates are almost certainly an undercount, as they include only those abortions obtained within the formal US health care system<\/strong>: at brick-and-mortar health facilities, such as clinics or doctor\u2019s offices, and via telehealth and virtual providers,\u201d Guttmacher also wrote (emphasis added).<\/p>\n<p>This means that #WeCount estimated abortion numbers could be higher than what Guttmacher has reported.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Telehealth and Virtual Abortion<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u201cTelehealth abortions are especially on the rise. By December 2023, they accounted for 19% of all abortions nationwide,\u201d\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/world\/article\/2024\/may\/14\/abortion-bans-shield-laws-telehealth-pills\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">wrote<\/a> The Guardian. According to #WeCount, 17,000 telehealth abortions took place each month from October to December 2023. This count included &#8220;brick-and-mortar clinics, virtual-only clinics, and under shield law protections into states with bans on abortion or telehealth.&#8221; The national average for brick-and-mortar telehealth abortions for those same months was 930.<\/p>\n<p>#WeCount defines a telehealth abortion as \u201cmedication abortion offered by a clinician through a remote consultation with the patient (via video, phone, or messaging) that results in medications dispensed via mail,&#8221; and says, &#8220;All telehealth abortions are counted according to the state to which the medications are mailed.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>In that same time period, \u201cthere was an average of 5,800 monthly telehealth abortions provided under shield laws to people in states with total abortion bans or 6-week abortion bans, and nearly 2,000 monthly telehealth abortions provided under shield laws to people in states with restrictions on telehealth abortion,\u201d the report claimed.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_312353\" style=\"width: 851px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-312353\" decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-full wp-image-312353\" src=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/05\/WeCount-telehealth-abortions-last-quarter-2023-Graph-WeCount.jpg\" alt=\"#WeCount telehealth abortions last quarter 2023 (Graph: #WeCount May 14, 2014 report)\" width=\"841\" height=\"499\" srcset=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/05\/WeCount-telehealth-abortions-last-quarter-2023-Graph-WeCount.jpg 841w, https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/05\/WeCount-telehealth-abortions-last-quarter-2023-Graph-WeCount-300x178.jpg 300w, https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/05\/WeCount-telehealth-abortions-last-quarter-2023-Graph-WeCount-700x415.jpg 700w, https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/05\/WeCount-telehealth-abortions-last-quarter-2023-Graph-WeCount-768x456.jpg 768w, https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/05\/WeCount-telehealth-abortions-last-quarter-2023-Graph-WeCount-500x297.jpg 500w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 841px) 100vw, 841px\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-312353\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">#WeCount telehealth abortions last quarter 2023 (Graph: #WeCount May 14, 2014 report)<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Alison Norris, an epidemiologist at Ohio State University and a lead researcher on the #WeCount report, <a href=\"https:\/\/abcnews.go.com\/US\/wireStory\/survey-finds-8000-women-month-abortion-pills-despite-110211418\">told ABC News<\/a> that \u201cthe group is not breaking down how many pills were shipped to each state with a ban \u2018to maintain the highest level of protection for individuals receiving that care and providers providing that care.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>Shield Law Coalitions<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In 2022, the group Abortion Coalition for Telemedicine (ACT) was established. Its\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.theactgroup.org\/who-we-are\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">mission,<\/a>\u00a0according to their website, is to \u201cprovide clinicians who are licensed in states where telemedicine abortion practitioners are shielded under the law with the technical assistance and consulting services needed to operate an interstate practice that serves patients who would otherwise be denied access to quality care because of where they live or their circumstances.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The ACT website states:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><em>After the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade in 2022, we got to work advocating for and passing state-level legislation that shields clinicians licensed in states where abortion remains legal from criminal or civil liability. With laws on the books in states like NY, WA, CO, VT, MA, and CA, we established a playbook for shielded clinicians to provide safe, timely, and affordable medication abortion via telemedicine to patients in states where abortion is banned or restricted. <\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><em>We\u2019re now focused on working directly with clinicians to launch shielded practices so more patients can legally receive interstate telemedicine abortion care.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>ACT was\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.theactgroup.org\/who-we-are\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">co-founded<\/a> by abortionists Linda Prine and Maggie Carpenter. Prine is an Aid Access abortionist and co-founder of the Miscarriage and Abortion Hotline, who recently\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.timesunion.com\/opinion\/article\/commentary-need-shield-laws-abortion-pill-17810508.php\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">wrote<\/a> an opinion piece advocating shield laws. Carpenter is a past Planned Parenthood volunteer who has <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theactgroup.org\/our-team\">reportedly<\/a> \u201cprovided medical and surgical abortions since 1999\u201d and who also \u201cstarted working with Aid Access in 2020 and helped launch Hey Jane [a virtual abortion pill dispensary] in December 2020 and continues to work with both organizations.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>A third co-founder of ACT is Julie F. Kay, \u201cthe lead attorney who designed and litigated the landmark abortion rights case ABC v. Ireland before the European Court of Human Rights which helped lay the groundwork for legalization of abortion in Ireland,\u201d her profile stated.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-full wp-image-312338\" src=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/05\/Abortion-Coalition-for-Telemedicine-ACT-founder-Linda-Prine-Maggie-Carpenter-and-Julie-F.-Kay.jpg\" alt=\"Abortion Coalition for Telemedicine ACT founder Linda Prine, Maggie Carpenter and Julie F. A telemedicine shield law is needed to substantially protect clinicians, staff, and pharmacists practicing in New York state from actions taken by politically motivated officials in other states to protect our licenses and our malpractice coverage, and to protect us from criminal or civil lawsuits, from extradition, and from subpoenas of medical records,\u201d abortionist Linda Prine <a href=\"https:\/\/www.timesunion.com\/opinion\/article\/commentary-need-shield-laws-abortion-pill-17810508.php\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">wrote<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>In addition, abortion pill funding organizations have also emerged, <a href=\"https:\/\/msmagazine.com\/2024\/02\/22\/pay-abortion-pills-telemedicine-abortion-ban-states-shield-law\/\">notes<\/a> Ms. Magazine: \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/healthcareacrossborders.org\/about\/\">Healthcare Across Borders<\/a>\u00a0(HCAB) has launched a new\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/healthcareacrossborders.org\/about\/abortion-pill-sustainability-fund\/\">Abortion Pill Sustainability Fund<\/a> to support shield-state clinicians serving patients in states banning abortion.\u201d That organization was <a href=\"https:\/\/healthcareacrossborders.org\/about\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">founded<\/a> by Jodi L. Jacobson, the founder and editor in chief of Rewire.News. Jacobson <a href=\"https:\/\/healthcareacrossborders.org\/donate\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">claimed<\/a>\u00a0to have \u201cworked with medical professionals and diverse organizations across the country to pass shield laws in several states, including California, Colorado, New York, Vermont, and Washington, helping spur a dramatic expansion in access to care throughout the country, irrespective of zip code.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cCumulatively, the 16 providers now offering telemedicine abortion to banned states are providing nearly well over 12,000 abortions per month, with demand increasing weekly,\u201d the group&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/secure.actblue.com\/donate\/abpillsustainabilityfund\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">donation page<\/a>\u00a0stated.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Self-Managed Abortion Potentially Harms Women<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Today, \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/abortion-industry-pushing-home-abortions\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">self-managed<\/a>\u201d abortion essentially involves <em>no<\/em> medical professional being available in person, and by definition leaves women alone to \u201cmanage\u201d whether their abortions are complete (without retained tissue), whether they are bleeding too much (hemorrhage), or whether they are experiencing a potential emergency.<\/p>\n<p>Published percentages for ER visits on the abortion drug\u2019s\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.accessdata.fda.gov\/drugsatfda_docs\/label\/2023\/020687Orig1s026lbl.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">2023 label<\/a> states that 2.9 to 4.6 percent of women who take abortion drugs end up in the emergency room, <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/emergency-room-visits-abortion-pill-tens-thouands\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">indicating<\/a>\u00a0that abortion pill ER visits could be in the tens of thousands every year.<\/p>\n<p>In\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/emergency-room-visits-abortion-pill-tens-thouands\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">addition<\/a>, the FDA\u2019s\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.earlyoptionpill.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/DANCO_MedGuide_ENG_Web.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">medication guide<\/a> acknowledges that as many as seven percent (7%) of women will need surgery after taking mifepristone &#8220;to stop bleeding&#8221; or to complete the abortion.<\/p>\n<p>The \u201cself-managed abortion\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/self-managed-abortion-brainchild-abortion-industry\/\">scheme<\/a> was planned and implemented by the abortion industry years before the fall of <em>Roe v. Wade<\/em>. Even in the early days of the abortion pill\u2019s approval, the industry acknowledged that emergency rooms would be a <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/media-blame-pro-life-abortion-pill-er\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">necessary link<\/a> in the \u201cself-managed\u201d abortion chain, despite the claim that the drug is \u201csafe.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The abortion industry shifted responsibility for abortion pill clients from abortion providers to often overcrowded emergency rooms. Today, bad actors inside the industry even tell abortion clients not to call them, but to instead present to emergency rooms for abortion pill aftercare. Some have even <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/bad-actors-conceal-abortion-pill-complications\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">suggested that clients lie<\/a>\u00a0about abortion pill complications and claim they are experiencing a\u00a0<em>natural miscarriage<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>Why does this matter? Because it falsifies the true dangers of the abortion pill for women, instead blaming those dangers on natural pregnancy complications.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Manipulating the Vulnerable to \u201cShield\u201d Abortionists<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Prine recently spoke to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/politics\/interactive\/2024\/abortion-pill-experience-stories\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Washington Post<\/a> about advice she gave a 15-year-old who ordered abortion pills \u201cin a state with an abortion ban.\u201d According to the media outlet, the teen \u201chad taken pills and passed a fetus larger than she\u2019d expected.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cUnable to flush the fetus down the toilet, the girl asked about throwing it away,\u201d Washington Post claimed.<\/p>\n<p>Prine\u2019s biggest concern was that the girl should not \u201ctell anybody.\u201d She also told the teen, \u201cYou are doing what\u2019s right for you and your future family,\u201d and \u201cThis way you can be a good mom when you\u2019re ready to be a good mom.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Why would abortionist Prine tell a scared teenager to not tell anyone, when she is not at risk of prosecution under pro-life laws?<\/p>\n<p><em>To protect abortion providers.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Separately, after a woman took abortion pills and called Prine\u2019s hotline with \u201creports of unexpectedly heavy bleeding,\u201d Prine, who did not see the client in person, irresponsibly told her over the phone, \u201cYour uterus knows what to do,\u201d adding, \u201cIt\u2019s going to take care of itself.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Prine and her colleagues admitted to <em>not<\/em> sending another woman to the ER to be checked out. According to the Washington Post article:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><em>When the Miscarriage and Abortion Hotline received its first call from a woman who was unable to pass her placenta \u2014 at least five weeks further into her pregnancy than the FDA\u2019s 10-week limit \u2014 a group of hotline doctors started messaging one another, trying to decide what to say to her, Prine said.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><em>One doctor in the group insisted that the woman had to go straight to the ER, but Prine and others disagreed. Worried the woman could face prosecution or mistreatment if she went to the hospital, Prine said, they walked her through her abortion at home, instructing her to take more abortion pills and gently massage her stomach until the placenta came free \u2014 the same advice Briana said she received.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><em>\u201cWe didn\u2019t feel like it was a medical emergency. She wasn\u2019t bleeding heavily and she wasn\u2019t lightheaded,\u201d said Prine, adding that they would have recommended the woman go the ER if a hospital visit was medically necessary.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>To reiterate, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/politics\/interactive\/2024\/abortion-pill-experience-stories\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Washington Post<\/a> article was clear that \u201cAbortion bans do not allow people seeking abortions to be prosecuted, targeting only doctors and others involved in facilitating the abortion,\u201d while at the same time, \u201cshield laws\u201d protect the abortionist. So why the alleged worry about prosecution of the woman?<\/p>\n<p><strong>Shield Laws Do Not Protect Women<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Historically, Big Abortion has\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/shielding-abortion-providers-consequences-women-risk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">failed to protect women<\/a>, and now with \u201cshield laws\u201d allegedly guaranteeing no prosecutions where abortion is restricted, abortion profiteers can hide inside pro-abortion states while they violate the law and profit off the backs of women and the deaths of babies anywhere they choose.<\/p>\n<p>The media is doing its part to protect lawbreakers by manipulating the public into believing that <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/decades-old-media-expose-lack-curiosity\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Big Abortion<\/a>\u00a0is merely an extension of the American health care sector. But nothing could be further from the truth.<\/p>\n<p>Big Abortion\u2019s\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/media-doesnt-tell-abortion-industry-darker\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">dirty little secrets<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/journalists-abortion-profiteers-business-selling-abortions\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">industry\u2019s<\/a>\u00a0blatant\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/womens-deaths-demonstrate-legal-doesnt-mean-safe\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">disregard<\/a>\u00a0for the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/shielding-abortion-providers-consequences-women-risk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">health and safety<\/a>\u00a0of women are numerous. It was not long ago when abortionist\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/employees-claimed-abortionist-microwaved-aborted-babies\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Krishna Rajanna<\/a>,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/decade-gosnell-house-horrors-brutal-realities-abortion\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Kermit Gosnell<\/a>, and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/slate.com\/news-and-politics\/2011\/02\/the-kermit-gosnell-of-florida-ignoring-unsafe-abortions-and-death-at-the-dadeland-family-planning-center.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">many others<\/a> made headlines for the horrific way they operated so-called \u201csafe and legal\u201d abortion businesses. These were not anomalies.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"YouTube video player\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/rhjlvpesvtE?si=sbda6I55thVFceX1\" width=\"640\" height=\"355\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><span data-mce-type=\"bookmark\" style=\"display: inline-block; width: 0px; overflow: hidden; line-height: 0;\" class=\"mce_SELRES_start\">\ufeff<\/span><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>And, while abortionists are shielded from scrutiny, the names of <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/womens-deaths-demonstrate-legal-doesnt-mean-safe\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">women who have died<\/a> in Big Abortion\u2019s wake are forgotten, leaving <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/families-haunted-memories-loved-killed-legal-abortion\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">their families<\/a>\u00a0to pick up the pieces.<\/p>\n<p>Remember, Big Abortion has never been about safety \u2013 only <em>access<\/em>, because <em>access<\/em> lines their pockets financially \u2014 and &#8220;shield laws&#8221; guarantee this.
