The infamous abortion facility Southwestern Women’s Options (SWO), located in Alburquerque, New Mexico, is known primarily for providing abortions very late in gestation. Now, the facility appears to have been temporarily closed while it prepares to reopen under new management.<\/p>\n

Since 1985<\/a>, SWO has been owned and operated by abortionist Curtis Wayne Boyd, who once admitted<\/a> to WFAA News that he knows “I am killing.”<\/p>\n

Boyd had long\u00a0maintained<\/a> that he committed the \u201cfull range\u201d of abortions in \u201cfirst, second, third trimester,\u201d and the staff has been caught on camera agreeing to commit an abortion on a 30-week baby simply because the mother felt \u201cstressed.\u201d Boyd previously operated a similar facility in Texas until it was shuttered<\/a> in March of last year.<\/p>\n

SWO’s website is now completely changed, according to New Mexico-based pro-life medical malpractice attorney Mike Seibel. The newly redone website<\/a> claims the abortion facility will commit abortions “up to 24 weeks.”<\/p>\n

Seibel previously won a wrongful death lawsuit against SWO, proving that Boyd and the facility were responsible<\/a> for the abortion-related death of Keisha Marie Atkins, a 23-year-old woman who underwent an abortion at SWO at 23 weeks pregnant in 2017.<\/p>\n

In 2022, according to the Alburquerque Journal<\/a>, Southwestern Women’s Options settled<\/a> with Atkins\u2019 estate to the sum of $900,000 and the University of Mexico also settled in her family\u2019s lawsuit regarding her death, paying $365,000 of the total amount awarded, which was $1.26 million.<\/p>\n

After Seibel’s lawsuit, Boyd ended<\/a> his ghoulish third trimester abortion practices and was only advertising abortions through 23 weeks and six days.<\/p>\n

Seibel told Live Action News that there are still active lawsuits against the old corporation<\/a>, which is listed under the name Curtis W. Boyd MD, PC, which is still shown as active and in good standing with the state. While Boyd’s New Mexico medical license still shows as current and active, the Texas Medical Board shows that his license in that state has been “cancelled by request” as of March 19, 2024.<\/p>\n

Southwestern Women’s Options (SWO) owned by Alamo Women’s Center<\/strong><\/p>\n

Seibel notified Live Action News that pro-lifers in the area have reported that Southwestern Women’s Options<\/a> was closed for “renovations.” The facility has been referring abortion clients to Alamo Women’s Center on Montgomery Blvd.<\/p>\n

“Curtis Wayne Boyd is the Godfather of abortion in this country and has been a mainstay in New Mexico since 1972 and it appears he has sold the name Southwestern Women\u2019s Options to Alamo Women\u2019s Health,” Seibel claimed.<\/p>\n

In 2022<\/a>, Alamo relocated from Texas and has been operating facilities in both Illinois and New Mexico. Live Action News has confirmed that the SWO facility was indeed closed for two weeks for renovations and was referring abortion clients to Alamo Women’s Center, referred to on a phone call as their “sister clinic.”<\/p>\n

When asked if SWO and Alamo were separate businesses, Live Action News was told that they were operated by the “same owner.” That owner<\/a> happens to be abortionist Alan Braid<\/a>, according to state records.<\/p>\n

Records on file at the New Mexico Secretary of State<\/a> show a new corporate listing for Southwestern Women’s Options, LLC, was opened on March 27, 2024. The new filing<\/a> lists Alamo Women’s Clinic of Albuquerque, LLC, which is owned by abortionist Alan Braid, as the registered agent. Southwestern Women’s Options’ “place of business address” is now listed as 10151 Montgomery Blvd, Albuquerque, NM, 87111.<\/p>\n

Archived pages of SWO’s website<\/a> indicate that changes to the website were implemented sometime in March of 2024.<\/p>\n

“It appears as though Braid has bought just the name, as the corporation has an open lawsuit and claims against it,” said Seibel. Seibel noted that by setting up a separate corporation from the one Boyd operated under, Braid appears to be purchasing just Southwestern Women’s Options’ assets and not its liabilities.<\/p>\n

Seibel was unclear as to what prompted the change, but speculated that the combination of lawsuits and Boyd’s advanced age could have prompted him to flee the abortion industry. Boyd once admitted to Seibel in a deposition that he had committed over 10,000 illegal abortions prior to Roe<\/em>.<\/p>\n

“Fifty years later, Boyd had performed some 250,000 abortions,” wrote Joshua Prager in his book<\/a>, “The Family Roe.”<\/p>\n

“It appears,” stated Seibel, that “Boyd is no longer terrorizing America’s preborn children. It’s a good day.”<\/p>\n
