{"id":308745,"date":"2024-03-15T10:43:40","date_gmt":"2024-03-15T15:43:40","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.liveaction.org\/news\/?p=308745"},"modified":"2024-03-15T11:26:43","modified_gmt":"2024-03-15T16:26:43","slug":"jill-biden-christina-aguilera-team-scare-abortion","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/jill-biden-christina-aguilera-team-scare-abortion\/","title":{"rendered":"Jill Biden and Christina Aguilera team up to scare women with pro-abortion propaganda"},"content":{"rendered":"<div style=\"margin-top: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px;\" class=\"sharethis-inline-share-buttons\" ><\/div><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">First lady Jill Biden has teamed up with singer Christina Aguilera to promote more abortion access across the United States.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In a joint message shared on social media, Biden and Aguilera used fear-mongering and inflammatory language to claim that laws protecting preborn children in the womb have stripped women of their rights.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><center><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"YouTube video player\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/MUb57RiExgA?si=lzA3Ti-NUB6tw4e7\" width=\"640\" height=\"355\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/center>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Hyperbole and propaganda<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cIt was shocking and devastating. From state to state, abortion bans went into effect, threatening the health and lives of women across the country,\u201d Biden said of the Supreme Court\u2019s overturn of <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Roe v. Wade<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> in June 2022.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cWhile also threatening doctors with prosecution for simply doing their jobs,\u201d Aguilera continued.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cAnd now, extremists are even threatening the right to access IVF and contraception for so many families,\u201d Biden claimed. In actuality, a recent Alabama Supreme Court decision simply stated that under that state&#8217;s wrongful death act, families had legal recourse if their preborn children created by IVF (who were, under that statute, to be treated as human beings) were destroyed without their permission. The court decision did not change any law with regard to whether or not IVF would be allowed, and in fact, the state legislature quickly passed another law protecting IVF, which the Republican governor signed immediately.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> In other words, IVF and contraception are not actually under threat \u2014 but of course, this ad doesn&#8217;t have to prove any of its claims. It simply disseminates propaganda.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Text on the screen in the ad also claimed that abortion restrictions threaten to \u201crip away\u201d the fundamental rights of women across the country. Interestingly enough, what the U.S. Supreme Court decided in <em>Dobbs v. Jackson<\/em>, which overturned <em>Roe v. Wade<\/em>, is that the Constitution has never supported a &#8216;right&#8217; to abortion, adding that <em>Roe<\/em> was &#8220;egregiously wrong from the start,&#8221; just as the <em>Dobbs<\/em> decision <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/leaked-scotus-draft-roe-egregiously-wrong\/\">states<\/a> on page 65 (emphasis added):<br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><em>We therefore hold that <strong>the Constitution does not confer a right to abortion<\/strong>. Roe and Casey must be overruled, and the authority to regulate abortion must be returned to the people and their elected representatives\u2026 <strong>procuring an abortion is not a fundamental constitutional right because such a right has no basis in the Constitution\u2019s text or in our Nation\u2019s history.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cSecrecy, shame, punishment, danger, even death,\u201d the first lady said. \u201cExtremists are working harder than ever to drag us back to a past we thought was long over. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">We should have the freedom to make our decisions about our bodies.\u201d But only someone who <em>ignores<\/em> and <em>denies<\/em> <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/abortion-data-cdc-increase-2021\/\">nearly 500 known legal abortion deaths<\/a> from 1973-2020, and does the same regarding the <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/post-abortion-trauma-real-researchers-denying\/\">very real existence of post-abortion trauma<\/a>, could make the claim that these abortion-related things are &#8220;long over.&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"YouTube video player\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/x4m2tpNCxpE?si=ZQhRRjyZQD4oNvMM\" width=\"640\" height=\"355\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><span data-mce-type=\"bookmark\" style=\"display: inline-block; width: 0px; overflow: hidden; line-height: 0;\" class=\"mce_SELRES_start\">\ufeff<\/span><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><strong>What should a nation&#8217;s laws do?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cI will not let my daughter live in a world where politicians make decisions about her body,\u201d Aguilera added, apparently unaware that laws that are passed in this country (laws regarding drinking and driving or seat belt usage, laws regulating the use and ownership of weaponry or ammunition, laws regarding the age one must be before one can legally have sex or consume alcohol, drive a vehicle, vote, or serve in the armed forces&#8230; the list goes on) \u00a0\u2014 whether these laws are about abortion or not \u2014 <em>affect what people can or cannot do with their bodies<\/em>. And laws against the killing of other human beings are meant to protect human life. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Laws that are passed to allow or promote the killing of innocent human beings are <em>unjust laws<\/em>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">On page 32 of the <em>Dobbs<\/em> decision, the idea of bodily autonomy with regard to killing preborn children by abortion is addressed, <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/leaked-scotus-draft-roe-egregiously-wrong\/\">with SCOTUS accurately noting<\/a>:<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><em>These attempts to justify abortion through appeals to a broader right to autonomy and to define one\u2019s \u2018concept of existence\u2019 prove too much. Those criteria, at a high level of generality, could license fundamental rights to illicit drug use, prostitution, and the like.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Despite the inflammatory claims in the ad, abortion restrictions have <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">not<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> threatened the lives of women. Every day, <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/unfathomable-abortions-estimated-since-roe\/\">more than 2,500 preborn lives are lost<\/a> in the United States because of abortions, with only a <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/fraction-abortions-rape-incest-health\/\">tiny percentage done for reasons of threat to the life of the mother<\/a>. Pro-life laws seek to protect these innocent children \u2013 not threaten lives.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Abortion advocates routinely use the phrase \u201cmy body, my choice\u201d to signal their support for abortion, but the preborn child\u2019s body <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/live-action-pro-life-replies-body-choice\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">does not<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> belong to his or her mother. The preborn child is a distinct human being, with his or her own DNA, a heart that beats independently of his or her mother\u2019s, and limbs that are growing and forming within the womb. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">No one has a legitimate right to kill another innocent human being \u2013 not even if that human being is temporarily living within her.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Pro-lifers don\u2019t advocate for shame, punishment, or death; instead, they simply work toward one common goal \u2013 the equal protection of innocent human beings who are routinely slaughtered in the womb. Such killing is never a right \u2013 it\u2019s a tragedy.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/actnow.io\/ARQQhk1\"><b><i>The DOJ put a pro-life grandmother in jail for protesting the killing of preborn children.
