California Governor Gavin Newsom is widely rumored to be running for president in 2028, and given Newsom’s commitment to all things pro-abortion<\/a>, it’s a worrying thought. In addition to turning California into a sanctuary for abortion<\/a>, Newsom has been on a media blitz promoting it.<\/p>\n

On a recent “Meet the Press” appearance<\/a>, moderator Kristen Welker quizzed Newsom on his new series of ads attacking pro-life states<\/a>. \u201cLet me press you though, Governor; do you think there is a week that access to abortion should be banned?\u201d Welker asked. Newsom refused to name a point at which preborn children should be protected from abortion.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think we\u2019ve established that firmly in the context of what states are doing like California where we established a constitutional right to access abortion,” he replied. “At the end of the day, I think that’s a determination for women and their doctors \u2014 ”<\/p>\n

“At any week?” Welker interjected, only for Newsom to continue talking as if Welker hadn’t asked for more specifics.<\/p>\n

” \u2014 as it relates to the issue in California, we’ve established that firmly in the state constitution. As it relates to getting into the debate around late-term abortion, that’s a complete canard.”<\/p>\n
