Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Justin Jefferson has been sued, accused of impregnating a woman and pressuring her to have an abortion.<\/p>\n

According to Andrea Galea, a licensed attorney, she and Jefferson were romantically involved<\/a> while both were in college at Louisiana State University (LSU). They then rekindled their relationship in April of 2023, and Galea became pregnant. She gave birth to a little girl, Stella Anastasia, in December \u2014 but Jefferson, she alleges, tried to pressure her into an abortion, and has refused to pay any child support.<\/p>\n

The Daily Mail reported<\/a> that Jefferson has countered with his own suit, demanding a paternity test. \u201cDefendant [Galea] has a substantial presence and following on various social media platforms and apparently has strategically positioned herself over the last several years to become an \u2018online influencer,\u2019\u201d Jefferson’s suit claims, adding that Galea was \u201cusing the [c]hild\u2019s birth, and her assertions of the Plaintiff\u2019s alleged fathering of the child as an apparent promotion on her various online platforms to self promote her online presence and following.\u201d<\/p>\n

Galea has argued otherwise, stating in her suit:<\/p>\n

Although he earns millions of dollars per year, Defendant has not provided a penny of financial support for the Child. In addition to his physical absence from his newborn’s life, Defendant has unmistakably and reprehensibly evidenced a firm unwillingness to voluntarily support the Child in any capacity, be it emotionally, financially, or otherwise.<\/em><\/p>\n

Additionally, Galea provided text messages, allegedly between herself and Jefferson, in which he pressured her to have an abortion after the Plan B pill did not work. The Daily Mail shared:<\/p>\n

‘So are you okay with getting this [situated],’ Jefferson wrote Galea in one text message included in his filing.<\/em><\/p>\n

In another exchange, Jefferson questions if Galea used Plan B, also known as the morning-after pill, to end the pregnancy.<\/em><\/p>\n

‘The more u wait the harder the situation will be that’s why I wanted to get you the planB [because] I didn’t want to be in this situation but it’s totally my fault I shouldn’t have done it in the first place,’ he wrote in one text message.<\/em><\/p>\n

Galea then responds: ‘Justin I took the plan b though it was just too late for it to be effective. Sometimes depending on the cycle unless you take it within like 2 hours it can be too late\u2026 and two people are always at fault in this. Personally I’ve never faced a situation like this\u2026’<\/em><\/p>\n

After that, he is alleged to have pressured her to have an abortion, according to Galea’s lawsuit. “Upon his realization that he could not persuade the Plaintiff to abort the pregnancy, Defendant began acting towards her with great insensitivity and extreme cruelty,” the lawsuit said. “The Defendant blocked the Plaintiff from communicating with him, and coldly told her to ‘[T]alk to me when the legal stuff come up.”<\/p>\n

More text messages, allegedly from Jefferson, further showed a cold attitude towards the baby after she was born when he was asked to come visit her in the hospital.<\/p>\n

“U wanted the kid you can take care of it [sic],” he allegedly wrote. “Again u don’t know me for the last time. u swear I know me. AND THIS IS A KID. A WHOLE CHILD. I tried to tell u this was how it was going to go u didn’t believe me. Call your mom and talk to her she the one that influenced you to go through with it. Tell her to come and help you.”<\/p>\n

The lawsuit situation comes at an inconvenient time for Jefferson, who is in the middle of contract talks<\/a> with the Vikings.<\/p>\n
