He poisoned his wife\u2019s water and sports drink with misoprostol, an agent often used to induce abortion. When his wife grew suspicious of the cloudy water, he persevered and encouraged her to <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201c<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2024\/02\/08\/us\/texas-abortion-drug-sentence.html\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">stay hydrated<\/span><\/a>,<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201d<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> even refusing to leave until she finished his concoction.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"YouTube video player\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/X69_a1DLEsU?si=PoErQhiVrFh0ldGo\" width=\"640\" height=\"355\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><span data-mce-type=\"bookmark\" style=\"display: inline-block; width: 0px; overflow: hidden; line-height: 0;\" class=\"mce_SELRES_start\">\ufeff<\/span><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">According to a February 8, 2024 article by the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2024\/02\/08\/us\/texas-abortion-drug-sentence.html\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">New York Times<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, Herring \u201cpleaded guilty to injury of a child and assault of a pregnant [woman] as part of a plea agreement.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Catherine Herring, the suspect&#8217;s wife, became suspicious when her husband took out the trash. She stated in her <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">complaint<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> that it was \u201cout of character for\u201d him, because \u201che does not do chores around the house&#8230;.\u201d When she investigated what was in the trash, she found empty Cyrux packages in the bin.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">According to the New York Times, \u201c<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The main ingredient in Cyrux is <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2023\/04\/11\/health\/misoprostol-abortion.html\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">misoprostol, which is used for abortions<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> in some countries.\u201d\u00a0 The United States is one of those countries and the abortion pill regimen (which consists of two drugs &#8211; mifepristone and misoprostol) accounts for <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.guttmacher.org\/article\/2022\/02\/medication-abortion-now-accounts-more-half-all-us-abortions\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">over half of U.S. abortions<\/span><\/a>,<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> according to 2022 statistics. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Misoprostol is the second drug in this regimen to complete a chemical abortion.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"YouTube video player\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/gnEHZiud8dg?si=1GsEbVJ6AHWUglIZ\" width=\"640\" height=\"355\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><span data-mce-type=\"bookmark\" style=\"display: inline-block; width: 0px; overflow: hidden; line-height: 0;\" class=\"mce_SELRES_start\">\ufeff<\/span><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">According to <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">the Abortion Pill Reversal Network,<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201c<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/abortion-pill-reversal-safe-doctor-explains\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">over 4,000 babies have been saved through abortion pill reversal<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201d which consists of the administration of progesterone in an effort to out-compete the mechanism of mifepristone, the first drug in the abortion pill regimen. However, the abortion industry is hastily developing a <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.npr.org\/sections\/health-shots\/2023\/04\/10\/1168857095\/misoprostol-only-medical-abortion\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201csingle drug\u201d strategy <\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">to induce abortion in case mifepristone is restricted.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Remarkably, the Herrings&#8217; daughter, <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2024\/02\/08\/lawyer-pleads-guilty-to-spiking-drink-abortion-drug\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Josephine<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, survived but was born prematurely and with developmental delays.
