Planned Parenthood, one of the largest providers of cross-sex hormones, has decried a decision by the Ohio legislature to ban so-called “gender-affirming care for transgender and non-binary youth,” and to “bar young Ohioans from participating in high school or college sports aligned with their gender identity.”<\/p>\n

Planned Parenthood is\u00a0among the organizations<\/a>\u00a0praising legislation\u00a0seeking<\/a>\u00a0to codify access to transgender services by\u00a0shielding those providers<\/a>\u00a0\u2014 much like they did for abortion. In addition,\u00a0abortion facilities<\/a>\u00a0across the United States are also cashing in on the proliferation of transgender confusion, with some openly advertising \u201cgender-affirming\u201d services to minors.<\/p>\n

But a growing number of parents and lawmakers like the ones in Ohio are pushing back<\/a> to oppose this agenda and urging states<\/a>\u00a0to pass legislation to protect minor children.<\/p>\n

Ohio Legislation Protects Minors<\/strong><\/p>\n

The legislation (HB68<\/a>), known as the “Ohio Saving Adolescents from Experimentation (SAFE) Act” was vetoed<\/a> by Governor Mike DeWine in December. According to the\u00a0Cincinnati Enquirer<\/a>, DeWine had argued that “decisions about gender transition care should be left to families and their medical providers.”<\/p>\n

Instead of signing the bill into law, the media outlet reported that “DeWine signed an executive order<\/a> banning Ohio hospitals and surgical facilities from performing gender transition surgery on minors. His administration also proposed rules to collect data on transgender medical care and regulate the treatment of adults and children with gender dysphoria.”<\/p>\n

But in January, the Ohio House voted to override Gov. Mike DeWine\u2019s veto<\/a> against Ohio House Bill 68 in a 65-28 vote, according to ABCNews.com<\/a>. Days later, on January 24, 2024, the Ohio Senate overrode the Governor’s veto by a vote<\/a> of 24 to 8. The law is set to take effect in April of this year.<\/p>\n

Planned Parenthood Responds<\/strong><\/p>\n

In response<\/a> to lawmakers overriding DeWine’s veto, Planned Parenthood, a top provider<\/a> and profiteer of so-called “gender-affirming care” \u2014 which normalizes<\/a> changing gender anytime someone \u2018feels\u2019 like it and willingly refers minors<\/a> for life-altering drugs \u2014\u00a0lashed out by labeling lawmakers “extremists” who were “working overtime to dehumanize transgender, nonbinary, and intersex Ohioans \u2013 especially our youth.”<\/p>\n

Planned Parenthood of Greater Ohio, which “offers initial and follow-up gender-affirming hormone therapy visits through telehealth,<\/a>” even posted a message on their website boasting<\/a> that they would continue to offer “gender-affirming hormone therapy to adults 18+.”<\/p>\n

But are opponents of injecting children with experimental cross-sex hormones truly extreme and attempting to dehumanize them? Or is Planned Parenthood simply (like it has done with abortion) attempting to normalize something which has the potential to do serious and irreversible harm to children? Even adults<\/strong> claim regret after taking these body-altering drugs.<\/p>\n

Helena Kerschner, a 23-year-old detransitioner from Cincinnati, Ohio, who was born a biological female, previously claimed<\/a> to the New York Post that she felt political pressure to transition.<\/p>\n

“In Helena\u2019s case<\/a>, all it took to get a testosterone prescription was one trip to Planned Parenthood when she was 18. She said she was given four times the typical starting dose by a nurse practitioner in less than an hour, without ever seeing a doctor,” the media outlet reported.<\/p>\n

One trip.<\/p>\n

“For Helena, testosterone caused emotional instability that culminated with two hospitalizations for self-harm,” the NY Post wrote, “While in the hospital she came to the realization that her transition was a mistake.”<\/p>\n

\u201cI saw a montage of photos of me, and when I saw how much my face changed and how unhappy I looked, I realized this was all f****d up and I shouldn\u2019t have done it. It was a really dark time,\u201d Helena said.<\/p>\n

“Today, the largest group of people identifying as transgender are adolescent girls,” Helena told<\/a> an Ohio legislative committee last year. “I was one of those trans youth that activists claim to support. But since I was harmed by gender medicine I’m reduced to just ‘a bigot,'” she said with firm emotion.<\/p>\n

“You know a child, or a teenager cannot consent to lifelong consequences regardless of what they say or what the adults around them involved in activism say,” Helena pointed out. “Do the right thing even if its unpopular and protect the young and vulnerable with your vote….”<\/p>\n
