With a quick search of the internet, they found Abortion Pill Rescue Network and made a life-changing call. * Maggie’s story came in through the Abortion Pill Rescue Network. Maggie is a pseudonym.<\/em><\/p>\n

A\u00a0recent study<\/a>\u00a0reports 70% of women experiencing abortion state the\u00a0abortion decision<\/a>\u00a0was\u00a0inconsistent<\/a>\u00a0with their own values and preferences, and shockingly one in four abortions are unwanted or coerced.<\/p>\n

Abortion activists commonly\u00a0contend<\/a>\u00a0that access to abortion is central to a woman\u2019s ability to define and carry out her own life plan. They assert that infringing upon this right has only negative impact on a woman. Yet the unrestricted access to chemical abortion has likely empowered\u00a0those who abuse women<\/a>\u00a0far more than empowering women themselves.<\/p>\n

Readily available, delivered to doorsteps across America, chemical abortion has removed medical pre-assessment prior to taking abortion drugs, as well evaluation for psychological coercion. Some are\u00a0stockpiling abortion drugs\u00a0<\/a>for\u00a0future needs\u00a0<\/a>for themselves and others.<\/p>\n

The Charlotte Lozier Institute\u00a0reports<\/a>\u00a0\u201cat least 72 unique websites that sell either just Misoprostol (10) or both Misoprostol and Mifepristone (62) in MTP (medical termination of pregnancy) kits.\u201d More than 20 of these websites have no gestational limits for sales.<\/p>\n

Abortions of the past took place primarily at an abortion facility where the patient was typically separated from any apparent support people, giving opportunity for the woman to provide uncoerced informed consent. There was some time and opportunity for the woman to stop the abortion if she was being forced or having second thoughts. Today, most abortion websites require no proof of pregnancy and sometimes even offer a discount for buying\u00a0the drugs<\/a>\u00a0in bulk. As the\u00a0FDA<\/a>\u00a0continues to\u00a0erode safety protocols<\/a>, those seeking to abuse women and end their pregnancies have been emboldened.<\/p>\n

Today\u2019s abortions take place in utter isolation,\u00a0empowering abusers<\/a>\u00a0to have complete control over the pregnancy decision. These cases have been described by some close to the cases as \u201cdevious, diabolical and disturbing.\u201d\u00a0Some abusers<\/a>\u00a0have even poisoned their girlfriends more than once.<\/p>\n

Media headlines reflect what we hear commonly at the\u00a0Abortion Pill Rescue Network<\/a>\u00a0\u2013 those seeking to control women are coercing and forcing abortion. These include boyfriends, aunts, husbands, friends, mothers, and\u00a0those who pimp or traffic human beings<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Without consent, the pills are forced into the mouth\u00a0or vagina<\/a>\u00a0of a victim to end a pregnancy. Some women are\u00a0held captive<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0threatened<\/a>\u00a0until they agree to consume the abortion pill.\u00a0Others<\/a>\u00a0have their\u00a0medication swapped<\/a>, only to learn later it was replaced with abortion chemicals. Still others consume a\u00a0poisoned dinner<\/a>\u00a0or soft drink that threatens the life of their child. Often women sadly experience the loss of their babies assuming miscarriage and sometimes have no idea their\u00a0breakfast pancakes<\/a>\u00a0or\u00a0tea<\/a>\u00a0or\u00a0water<\/a>\u00a0or\u00a0smoothie<\/a>\u00a0was poisoned. Even in court, these cases are sometimes referred to as \u201cmiscarriage<\/a>\u201d rather than forced abortion.<\/p>\n

Some<\/a>\u00a0of these children have been born alive, surviving only for minutes.\u00a0At least one baby<\/a>, born prematurely, survived the forced abortion induced by his father.<\/p>\n

In the U.S. domestic violence is a growing tragedy. The\u00a0National Coalition Against Domestic Violence<\/a>\u00a0reports that 20 people per-minute are physically abused by an intimate partner in the United States, which equates to more than 10 million cases each year. One in three women report have experienced some form of physical violence by an intimate partner.<\/p>\n

The Justice Foundation<\/a>\u00a0confirms that forcing a woman to have an abortion, including a minor, is illegal in all 50 states of the United States of America and subject to prosecution.<\/p>\n

Sadly, women who experience these horrific acts state they feel violated and describe the experience as a living nightmare.\u00a0One woman<\/a>, whose boyfriend swapped her amoxicillin for chemical abortion drugs, stated \u201cThere\u2019s just no words for the horror I wake up with every day that this is my reality. There\u2019s no escaping it, there\u2019s no turning it off.\u201d Another, grieving the loss of her preborn child, said in court, \u201cI never even got the chance to listen to the heartbeat.\u201d<\/p>\n

With\u00a024% of women<\/a>\u00a0now reporting coercion or an unwanted abortion, this violence against women undoubtedly continues to increase. Woman\u2019s rights are being violated when they are coerced, unduly pressured, or forced into an unwanted abortion.<\/p>\n
