(Pregnancy Help News<\/a>) — After JoAnna took the first abortion pill in the autumn of 2022, she and her partner Tommy regretted the decision. Thanks to\u00a0Abortion Pill Reversal<\/a> they [celebrate] the holiday season with their healthy baby girl.<\/p>\n

Like many couples who find themselves unexpectedly pregnant, JoAnna and Tommy experienced fear and uncertainty. They both already had children from previous relationships, and their own relationship was just a few months old. They went to Planned Parenthood where JoAnna was given the first abortion pill.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf you take a look from the outside in, it\u2019s not the most ideal situation,\u201d Tommy told Pregnancy Help News<\/em>. \u201cWe listened to the voices inside our heads of other people. The negativity in our heads led us there.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI was focused on what everyone else would think,\u201d JoAnna said.<\/p>\n

After the New Jersey couple returned to JoAnna\u2019s home, guilt and sorrow set in.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe both knew we had made the wrong choice,\u201d Tommy said. \u201cIt wasn\u2019t something we should have done. My soul was ripped from me.\u201d<\/p>\n

He recalled trying to talk with JoAnna about what happened, but she told him, \u201cI need time.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI was left alone,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Tommy remembers thinking, \u201cI can\u2019t live with this.\u201d<\/p>\n

He also recalled looking out the window of JoAnna\u2019s home and seeing a little girl\u2019s birthday party next door, a yard filled with people, laughter, and balloons.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey were celebrating life and look at what we had done. It just killed me,\u201d Tommy said.<\/p>\n

Searching for help<\/h4>\n

\u201cI went on a run to just clear my mind,\u201d Tommy said. \u201cWhen I came back, I thought, \u2018This just can\u2019t be it.\u2019 So, I immediately went to the internet, and I started searching \u2018how do you reverse this?\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

He found\u00a0success stories\u00a0<\/a>and information about the\u00a0Abortion Pill Rescue\u00ae Network<\/a>\u00a0(APRN). Hope arose, and Tommy acted.<\/p>\n

\u201cI called APR,\u201d he said. \u201cI spoke to the nurses there, and they said, \u2018We can\u2019t do anything without her.\u2019 I pleaded with JoAnna to call them. She had her concerns as well, but I had done the research, and I said, \u2018No, people are saying it\u2019s possible.\u2019 I begged her to talk with them.\u201d<\/p>\n

READ: She never considered fostering children, until God opened her heart<\/em><\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n

JoAnna said her primary concern was that the first abortion pill had harmed the baby, but she made the call. She said the nurses reassured her that would not be the case, but they also told her taking the second pill could be detrimental and that timing was crucial \u2013 getting to a doctor and starting the progesterone process as soon as possible was an important factor.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe were able to connect with a provider that night, and he prescribed it [progesterone],\u201d JoAnna told\u00a0Pregnancy Help News<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Within a few days, JoAnna and Tommy connected with\u00a0Bridge Women\u2019s Center<\/a>\u00a0for an ultrasound. They were brought aboard one of the center\u2019s mobile units for the sonogram.<\/p>\n

\u201cEverything was fine, thank God!\u201d JoAnna said.<\/p>\n

She said the abortion clinic staff did not offer her information on any other pregnancy options, but that they did tell her there was no way to reverse or stop the abortion.<\/p>\n

\u201cI wanted to vomit up that [first] pill,\u201d she recalled. \u201cThey said the abortion couldn\u2019t be reversed.\u201d<\/p>\n

They were wrong.<\/p>\n

A life saved<\/h4>\n

Bridge nurses monitored JoAnna\u2019s pregnancy for several months through ultrasound while she continued the progesterone. This past summer, JoAnna gave birth to a healthy little girl. She and Tommy named their child Francesca Celeste, meaning \u2018free\u2019 and \u2018heavenly,\u2019 respectfully.<\/p>\n

\u201cShe\u2019s beautiful, and she\u2019s a blessing,\u201d JoAnna said.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere\u2019s very little crying. Every time you look at her, she\u2019s got a smile on her face,\u201d Tommy said. \u201cI can\u2019t help to think that because of what she\u2019s been through and what we\u2019ve been through, she\u2019s a testament to that [APR success].\u201d<\/p>\n

Their daughter is among\u00a0more than 4,500 babies saved<\/a>\u00a0through Heartbeat International\u2019s\u00a0Abortion Pill Rescue\u00ae Network<\/a>\u00a0and centers\u2019 and doctors\u2019 provision of APR, according to the APRN\u2019s\u00a02022 Impact Report<\/a>. Around the world, 1,300 providers, clinics, and hospitals are part of the APRN. That includes physicians in New Jersey where JoAnna and Tommy live, and Bridge Women\u2019s Center.<\/p>\n

Earlier this fall, the couple introduced their little girl to Bridge staff members, including the organization\u2019s\u00a0new director<\/a>, Victoria Dean.<\/p>\n

\u201cAfter she had the baby, she called and wanted us to see her,\u201d Dean said. \u201cShe\u2019s a beautiful little girl.\u201d<\/p>\n

Bridge Women\u2019s Center has been involved with APRN for more than two years. Dean said she and her staff are happy to provide ultrasounds for APR patients. Through their mobile units parked near abortion clinics, the staff and volunteers watch women walk out \u201cwith that bag in their hand.\u201d They take opportunity to let those women know about APR.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe know they\u2019ve taken that first pill [and] we can tell them \u2018You can reverse it, there\u2019s time,\u2019\u201d Dean said. \u201cWe have done that so many times. Just knowing that [APR] is there, the phone number is there, knowing that option is available, is huge.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cLife-changing\u201d in several ways<\/h4>\n

Tommy and JoAnna are thankful for the Bridge Women\u2019s Center mobile unit, something Tommy said he hadn\u2019t known about.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve never seen that before,\u201d he said. \u201cTo see that \u2013 you know, this is a community. I felt safe instantly.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThose women on that bus are doing God\u2019s work,\u201d said Tommy.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey were amazing, wonderful,\u201d JoAnna said. \u201cThey were life-changing actually.\u201d<\/p>\n

Not only did Bridge Women\u2019s Center help save the life of their baby, but staff encouraged them to deepen their faith walk.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe invited her to church, and they\u2019ve been coming to church,\u201d Dean said.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey really did transform me into restoring my faith in Christ and really just being on fire for more,\u201d Tommy said. \u201cI really felt connected with their message, and to me, that is what a Christian is. They are out there, boots on the ground, trying to save lives; it aligned with me so much. Now I go walking around with a Bible. I joke that if you would have known me a year-and-a-half-ago, I wouldn\u2019t have been walking around with a Bible.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThey call Calvary their home church,\u201d Dean said. \u201cWe just love on them whenever we see them.\u201d<\/p>\n

Thankfully celebrating<\/h4>\n

Just as Tommy watched that family celebrate a little girl\u2019s birthday last year, he and JoAnna and their children are joyfully and thankfully celebrating this holiday season with their baby girl.<\/p>\n

\u201cGod gave us a second chance,\u201d Tommy said.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur baby has siblings, and they love her,\u201d JoAnna added.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere\u2019s nothing like holding your own child in your hands,\u201d Tommy said. \u201cAll those thoughts of how you\u2019re going to do it and what you\u2019re going to do, you just get it done. You figure out a way. And if you put your faith in God, you give him those problems, and it will all work out.\u201d<\/p>\n

Dean is also thankful.<\/p>\n

\u201cWith APR and being in the APRN, women have another option, a second chance,\u201d she said. \u201cEven just giving them the information \u2013 that helps.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cMost women don\u2019t know they have that option after taking the abortion pill,\u201d said Dean. \u201cTo be connected with Heartbeat, to know they can call that number and to know they are going to be immediately connected with us and we can help them, is very important.\u201d<\/p>\n
