The Hope Clinic for Women in Granite City, Illinois, has sent three more women to the emergency room, all in less than two months.<\/p>\n

Operation Rescue reported<\/a> that the emergencies took place in August and September, with all of the details given to 911 dispatchers being vague and non-descriptive.<\/p>\n

The first emergency took place on August 4, when an ambulance was requested. “We have a patient that needs to be transferred,” the staffer began. “She needs to go to a higher level of care for evaluation.” While it’s not unusual for abortion facility staffers to downplay a woman’s injuries, in this circumstance, the 911 dispatcher asked no questions whatsoever. That meant EMS personnel were dispatched without any knowledge of the emergency they were being sent to, or what kind of care was needed.<\/p>\n

Just over one month later, on September 7, another emergency took place. Again, the facility staffer was vague. “We have a patient we need to transfer to Barnes,” she said. “She is having some bleeding.” The dispatcher asked how old the patient was, and the staffer ignored the question, repeating, “Currently she’s stable, but yes, we do need her to go to Barnes.”<\/p>\n

The dispatcher again asked how old the patient was, and the staffer finally answered that she was 35, and though she said the bleeding was controlled, she added, “We do need someone ASAP.”<\/p>\n
