Stevie Nicks, one of the vocalists for rock band Fleetwood Mac, had an abortion<\/a>, which she said she owed her success to.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf I had not had that abortion, I\u2019m pretty sure there would have been no Fleetwood Mac,\u201d she said. \u201cThere\u2019s just no way that I could have had a child then, working as hard as we worked constantly. And there were a lot of drugs, I was doing a lot of drugs… I would have had to walk away.”<\/p>\n

She chose abortion so she could continue with her career, but the song “Sara” is about the child she aborted. \u201cHad I married Don and had that baby, and had she been a girl, I would have named her Sara,\u201d she said in a 2014 interview<\/a> with Billboard.<\/p>\n
