Josh Hawley is also <a href=\"https:\/\/missouriindependent.com\/2023\/02\/09\/missouri-agencies-launch-investigation-into-health-center-for-transgender-youth\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">looking into allegations<\/a> at the Transgender Center and recently sent a letter to the University with instructions to preserve records.<\/p>\n<div class=\"video-container\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">We launched a CID into Planned Parenthood when we realized they were blatantly advertising these practices on their website- and they rushed to court to avoid handing over any documents.<\/p>\n<p>What are they hiding? <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/Rl4vVaf9Uh\">https:\/\/t.co\/Rl4vVaf9Uh<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&mdash; Attorney General Andrew Bailey (@AGAndrewBailey) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/AGAndrewBailey\/status\/1651990656242397199?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">April 28, 2023<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/div>\n<p><strong>Missouri AG Investigation of Planned Parenthood<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>According to the <a href=\"https:\/\/apnews.com\/article\/transgender-health-planned-parenthood-missouri-a26bddc0a5658ba60c9ed8c23606917f\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Associated Press<\/a>, Attorney General Andrew Bailey demanded documents from Planned Parenthood of the St. Louis Region and Southwest Missouri (PPSLRSWMO) after learning that the facility provides \u201clife-altering gender transition drugs to children without any therapy assessment,\u201d spokeswoman Madeline Sieren said in a statement. She described that as a departure from standard care.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The attorney general\u2019s office is leading an investigation into the allegations, with the assistance of the Missouri Department of Social Services and Division of Professional Registration,&#8221; wrote the Missouri Independent.<\/p>\n<p>According to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.missourinet.com\/2023\/03\/31\/planned-parenthood-sues-missouris-attorney-general-over-investigation-into-transgender-healthcare-program\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Missourinet.com<\/a>, Bailey\u2019s office said Planned Parenthood was asked to provide \u201cbasic documents to explain several things, including why its procedures depart so far from any recognized standard of care.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;In an email statement from his spokeswoman responding to the lawsuit, Bailey claimed Planned Parenthood is not following the recognized standard of care for its transgender patients,&#8221; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.krcu.org\/politics\/2023-04-03\/planned-parenthood-sues-missouri-attorney-general-over-transgender-care-investigation\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">KRUC.org<\/a> reported.\u00a0 &#8220;As evidence, the attorney general\u2019s office pointed to\u00a0<a class=\"Link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.plannedparenthood.org\/planned-parenthood-st-louis-region-southwest-missouri\/patients\/our-services\/hormone-therapy\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Planned Parenthood\u2019s website<\/a>, which says the organization offers hormone replacement therapy to patients 16 years and older and that &#8216;you don\u2019t need to participate in therapy or provide information from a mental health provider to receive hormone therapy.&#8217;\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The attorney general\u2019s office said it also has \u201cadditional sources that have been uncovered by our ongoing investigation,\u201d according to KRUC.<\/p>\n<p>In response to the investigation, the Planned Parenthood affiliate <a href=\"https:\/\/www.plannedparenthood.org\/planned-parenthood-st-louis-region-southwest-missouri\/who-we-are\/press-releases\/planned-parenthood-sues-attorney-general-bailey-for-sham-transgender-care-investigation\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">filed<\/a> a lawsuit after &#8220;Bailey sent a Civil Investigative Demand to PPSLRSWMO that contained over 50 separate demands,&#8221; Planned Parenthood&#8217;s St. Louis <a href=\"https:\/\/www.plannedparenthood.org\/planned-parenthood-st-louis-region-southwest-missouri\/who-we-are\/press-releases\/planned-parenthood-sues-attorney-general-bailey-for-sham-transgender-care-investigation\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">wrote<\/a> in its release. The Planned Parenthood lawsuit <a href=\"https:\/\/missouriindependent.com\/2023\/03\/31\/planned-parenthood-sues-missouri-attorney-general-over-transgender-care-investigation\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">claimed<\/a> there was nothing in Reed\u2019s affidavit pertaining to their facilities.<\/p>\n<p>The Planned Parenthood lawsuit is asking the judge to strike down Bailey\u2019s demand for records, which Planned Parenthood says included &#8220;HIPAA-protected patient health information and every document that references \u2018social media\u2019 or \u2018TikTok,'&#8221; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.columbiatribune.com\/story\/news\/2023\/03\/31\/planned-parenthood-sues-missouri-attorney-general-over-transgender-care-investigation\/70069135007\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">claimed the Columbia Tribune<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Planned Parenthood abortionist Colleen McNicholas, who once <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/planned-parenthood-abortionist-abortion-moral-valid\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">confessed<\/a> that \u201cviability\u201d does not necessarily depend on gestational age and is PPSLRSWMO&#8217;s chief medical officer, described Bailey\u2019s investigation as a &#8216;fishing expedition&#8217; to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ksdk.com\/article\/news\/local\/planned-parenthood-st-louis-sue-missouri-attorney-general\/63-8e118271-bb0b-4517-bab4-797c3cbcdbdb\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">KSDK.com<\/a>. She also alleged that Bailey was using the \u201csame playbook\u201d that anti-abortion activists and elected officials have used to restrict abortions.<\/p>\n<p>McNicholas <a href=\"https:\/\/www.news-leader.com\/story\/news\/local\/ozarks\/2021\/08\/06\/planned-parenthood-adds-gender-affirming-health-care-uninsured-transgender-community-springfield-mo\/8077250002\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">serves<\/a> as co-director of the TRANSforming Community TRANSforming Care program.<\/p>\n<p>Attorney General Bailey responded to the Planned Parenthood lawsuit, telling Missourinet.com, \u201cPlanned Parenthood is a member of the activist organization WPATH, which has long called for \u2018extensive exploration of psychological issues before any physical interventions are considered.\u2019 But rather than provide a single document to explain why it is departing so far from WPATH\u2019s standard, Planned Parenthood is running to court to try to hide everything. Missourians should be very concerned.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The Attorney General&#8217;s Office also published this March 31, 2023, response in an <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/AGAndrewBailey\/status\/1641878459461914627\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">X (formerly Twitter) thread<\/a>:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Following discovery that Planned Parenthood provides life-altering gender transition drugs to children without any therapy assessment, Attorney General Bailey asked Planned Parenthood to provide basic documents to explain several things, including why its procedures depart so far from any recognized standard of care. Missourians should be very concerned.<\/p>\n<p>There is also a growing recognition that there is not yet solid evidentiary support for gender transition interventions. As the U.S. Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality has <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ksdk.com\/article\/news\/local\/planned-parenthood-st-louis-sue-missouri-attorney-general\/%7C6120498b2d6044c9e36108db320f4275%7Cccd8a79b7268413b878971f8b6f4c0df%7C1%7C0%7C638158813840816172%7CUnknown%7CTWFpbGZsb3d8eyJWIjoiMC4wLjAwMDAiLCJQIjoiV2luMzIiLCJBTiI6Ik1haWwiLCJXVCI6Mn0=%7C3000%7C%7C%7C&amp;sdata=qQOmqi+sbEP8CcIihPrDTi3sORjTS+rbt3bC0pfzIss=&amp;reserved=0\">determined<\/a>, &#8216;There is a lack of current evidence-based guidance for the care of children and adolescents who identify as transgender, particularly regarding the benefits and harms of pubertal suppression, medical affirmation with hormone therapy, and surgical affirmation.&#8217;<\/p>\n<p>That\u2019s why Finland, Sweden, and the United Kingdom, among others, have declared this to be &#8216;experimental&#8217; and have substantially limited the circumstances where these interventions can be prescribed. Planned Parenthood\u2019s decision not to follow the science, and not to even explain why it will not follow the science, is very concerning.<\/p>\n<p>We look forward to prevailing in this request for information and learning what is truly going on with Planned Parenthood in connection with gender transition issues.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><strong>Planned Parenthood Affiliate<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&#8220;In 2021, Planned Parenthood, the Missouri Foundation for Health and the Metro Trans Umbrella Group launched the aforementioned program called <a class=\"gnt_ar_b_a\" href=\"https:\/\/www.news-leader.com\/story\/news\/local\/ozarks\/2021\/08\/06\/planned-parenthood-adds-gender-affirming-health-care-uninsured-transgender-community-springfield-mo\/8077250002\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-t-l=\":b|e|k|${u}\">TRANSforming Community TRANSforming Care<\/a>, which expanded access to gender-affirming care. According to\u00a0<a class=\"gnt_ar_b_a\" href=\"https:\/\/www.plannedparenthood.org\/planned-parenthood-st-louis-region-southwest-missouri\/patients\/our-services\/hormone-therapy\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-t-l=\":b|e|k|${u}\">PPSLR&#8217;s web page<\/a> on &#8220;hormone replacement therapy,&#8221; the organization offers hormone injections &#8220;to patients who are 16 and older and does not require a letter of support from a mental health provider,&#8221; the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.news-leader.com\/story\/news\/local\/missouri\/2023\/04\/06\/planned-parenthood-sues-mo-attorney-general-for-trans-care-inquiry\/70077623007\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Springfield News-Leader<\/a> claimed.<\/p>\n<p>PPSLRSWMO recorded seeing 121 \u201ctransmen\u201d and 38 \u201ctranswomen\u201d in their <a href=\"https:\/\/www.plannedparenthood.org\/uploads\/filer_public\/fd\/9c\/fd9c2107-2874-4f29-91d2-a8472eea25b4\/ppslrswmo_2021_annual_report.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">FY2021AR<\/a>, writing that in March of 2021 the affiliate rolled out the &#8216;TRANSforming Community, TRANSforming Care&#8217; program. The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.plannedparenthood.org\/planned-parenthood-st-louis-region-southwest-missouri\/patients\/our-services\/hormone-therapy\">website<\/a>\u00a0claims to \u201coffer hormone replacement therapy to patients 16 years and older. If you are 16 or 17, there are additional requirements.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>But recently, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.columbiatribune.com\/story\/news\/2023\/03\/31\/planned-parenthood-sues-missouri-attorney-general-over-transgender-care-investigation\/70069135007\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Columbia Tribune<\/a> claimed that &#8220;Planned Parenthood says [this program] has provided gender-affirming care to more than 1,000 patients.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>In <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/missouri-law-minors-transgender-planned-parenthood\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">August<\/a>, Missouri\u2019s SB 49 took effect. The law, which would protect minors from transgender services or procedures in the state, has prompted some providers of \u201cgender-affirming\u201d services to minors to announce that they are \u201ccanceling pre-existing prescriptions for puberty blockers or hormone-replacement therapy,\u201d reported the <a href=\"https:\/\/missouriindependent.com\/2023\/09\/11\/washington-university-the-second-missouri-provider-to-stop-transgender-care-for-minors\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Missouri Independent<\/a>.<\/p>\n<div class=\"video-container\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Recipients of the letter include Washington University (St. Louis), Southampton Healthcare (St. Louis), Children\u2019s Mercy (Kansas City), Planned Parenthood Great Plains, Planned Parenthood St. Louis, and AIDS Project of the Ozarks (Springfield).<\/p>\n<p>&mdash; Attorney General Andrew Bailey (@AGAndrewBailey) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/AGAndrewBailey\/status\/1696915053578981517?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">August 30, 2023<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/div>\n<p>\u201cMissouri\u2019s Planned Parenthood clinics had been ramping up available appointments and holding pop-up clinics to start patients on treatments before the law took effect,\u201d ABC News claimed.<\/p>\n<p>Transgender services have become\u00a0a <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/planned-parenthood-promotes-benefits-transgender-ideology\/\">significant source of business<\/a> for Planned Parenthood, which is a\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/top-abortion-provider-planned-parenthood-transgender-care\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">top provider<\/a> of so-called \u201cgender-affirming care\u201d nationally.<\/p>\n<p>But even while the Missouri law protecting minors was being challenged,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/planned-parenthood-abortion-hand-transgender-profits\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Planned Parenthood<\/a>\u00a0of the St. Louis Region and Southwest Missouri had\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.plannedparenthood.org\/planned-parenthood-st-louis-region-southwest-missouri\/patients\/our-services\/transgender-care\">vowed<\/a>\u00a0to \u201ccontinue to see minors (age 16+) in Missouri for gender-affirming care, as long as they begin care before August 28, 2023. Patients who have begun care before August 28 can continue their care in Missouri.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;After August 28, Missouri minors looking to start gender-affirming care can come to our health center in Fairview Heights, Illinois,&#8221; the Planned Parenthood affiliate <a href=\"https:\/\/www.plannedparenthood.org\/planned-parenthood-st-louis-region-southwest-missouri\/patients\/our-services\/transgender-care\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">states<\/a> on its website.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.liveaction.org\/stop-planned-parenthood\/?utm_campaign=sex_ed_petition&amp;utm_medium=LAN&amp;utm_source=website\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\"
