An abortionist with an extensive criminal history has died, and his Michigan abortion facility is allegedly closing permanently as a result.<\/p>\n

Protect Life Michigan reported<\/a> the death of abortionist Thomas Gordon. Lynn Mills, who runs Pro-Life Michigan, said<\/a> he spent his last day alive committing abortions at Heritage Clinic for Women in Grand Rapids.<\/p>\n

“Abortionist Thomas Gordon of Heritage Clinic for Women has died,” Protect Life Michigan wrote on Facebook. “We never rejoice in death, and we pray that Gordon received Christ and repented before he passed. While we wait to see how this will impact our state, we hope you join us in prayer for an abortion-free Grand Rapids.”<\/p>\n

Gordon had a history<\/a> of assault and domestic violence, yet Heritage Clinic for Women is still listed<\/a> as a National Abortion Federation (NAF) affiliated abortion facility. It describes<\/a> Gordon as having “a strong sense of dedication, professionalism, and integrity.”<\/p>\n

In 2017, the state of Michigan suspended<\/a> Gordon’s license to practice medicine for failing to notify state officials of his criminal history. He had been convicted of aggravated assault in 1992, with more crimes to come. In 2010, Gordon\u2019s wife, Shelly, filed a Personal Protection Order against him, alleging that he had been violent toward her and threatened her with a gun. In the order, she wrote,\u00a0\u201cThomas has beat (me) several times in the past 3 years, he has even put his 45 mm pistol to my head when I was sleeping.\u201d<\/p>\n

She also claimed that he was unable to control his violent temper while they were on a trip to Jamaica, where, she said, a \u201clayover and wrong transport made him snap.\u201d She said that while she was sleeping in their hotel room, Gordon entered the room and \u201cstarted hitting me in face, body said he doesn\u2019t like me \u2013 hit me and damage [sic] my nose\u2026.”<\/p>\n

Furthermore, a Kent County Sheriff Department Affidavit of Probable Cause from November 2011 stated:<\/p>\n

Suspect Thomas Gordon, did commit a felonious assault upon his wife, Shelly Gordon. The Gordons were involved in a verbal argument, in the finished basement of their residence. Thomas had a Kimber Combat Carry, semi auto pistol, chambered in .45 ACP, resting on the counter of a kitchenette area. The victim, Shelly Gordon, stated that she was going to go upstairs. Thomas stated \u201cI\u2019ll shoot you and anyone that f**ks with me.\u201d He then ran over to the counter top, picked up the pistol, racked the slide and pointed it at Shelly. <\/em><\/p>\n

Shelly then grabbed hold of the pistol and Thomas\u2019 hand. She stated \u201cyou are not going to shoot me,\u201d as she tried to pry the pistol from his grasp. They continued the physical struggle and Thomas fell against the wall and then on to the floor. Shelly was able to grab the gun and run upstairs. She secreted the gun under a pillow, on the upstairs couch. Shelly then ran outside and hid, where she called 911. <\/em><\/p>\n

Thomas did submit to a breathalyzer, upon arrival at the jail. This yielded the BAC results of .21. It should be noted that the magazine for the pistol, although loaded with six rounds, was not in the grip of the pistol. Shelly stated that she believed the firearm was loaded.<\/em><\/p>\n

In 2012, Gordon was convicted of two more charges \u2014 \u201cweapons-firearm-possession under the influence\u201d and \u201cdomestic violence.\u201d Then, in 2015, he was convicted again of two separate charges \u2014 first of \u201cdisorderly person jostling\u201d and then of \u201coperating while intoxicated.\u201d<\/p>\n

Gordon was said to be one of the only independent abortionists in Michigan, meaning he was not affiliated with an abortion chain such as Planned Parenthood.<\/p>\n
