In his book <\/span>Sexual Behavior in the Human Female<\/span><\/i>, the so-called \u201cFather of the Sexual Revolution,\u201d Alfred Kinsey, claimed:\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

There are, of course, instances of adults who have done physical damage to children with whom they have attempted sexual contacts \u2026 But these cases are in the minority and the public should learn to distinguish such serious contacts from other adult contacts which are not likely to do the child any appreciable harm if the child\u2019s parents do not become disturbed.<\/span><\/i>[<\/span>1]<\/span><\/p>\n

Kinsey\u2019s sexual obsessions and bizarre personal habits were explored in part one<\/a> of this series, and part two<\/a> examined the ways in which his research project and books on human sexuality were methodologically flawed.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

But the most troubling aspects of the two Kinsey reports \u2013 “<\/span>Sexual Behavior in the Human Male” <\/span>and “<\/span>Sexual Behavior in the Human Female”<\/span> \u2013 concern the ways in which they have affected children…\u00a0both directly, by means of the abuse they sanctioned and encouraged, and indirectly, by means of their effects on modern sex education.<\/span><\/p>\n

Kinsey used so-called \u2018data\u2019 collected by predatory pedophiles to support his predetermined conclusion that humans are sexual from birth. In the Yorkshire Television documentary “<\/span>Kinsey\u2019s Paedophiles<\/span><\/a>,” both authorized Kinsey biographer Jonathan Gathorne-Hardy and Kinsey co-author Paul Gebhard told interviewers that the point<\/em> of Kinsey\u2019s books was to convince the public<\/em> that human beings are sexual from birth.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Predatory pedophiles \u2013 with Kinsey\u2019s blessings and encouragement \u2013 kept detailed diaries of their crimes, timed their molestations of children as young as infancy with stopwatches (in sessions lasting as long as 24 hours in some cases), and turned over all of their \u201cobservations\u201d to Kinsey, who in turn presented this information as science in his “<\/span>Male”<\/span> and “<\/span>Female”<\/span> volumes.[<\/span>2]<\/span><\/p>\n

VIOLENCE AS \u201cSCIENCE\u201d<\/b><\/p>\n

Chapter 5 of “<\/span>Sexual Behavior in the Human Male”<\/span> presented a detailed discussion of male childhood sexuality, and, according to Kinsey biographer James H. Jones, \u201cmuch of this chapter was based on materials [pedophiles] presented.\u201d[<\/span>3] <\/span>\u00a0Jones continues, \u201c[T]he text and charts suggested that infants less than a year old had been stimulated [read: \u2018molested\u2019] and observed for as long as an hour at a stretch; four-year-olds for as many as twenty-four hours.\u201d[<\/span>4]<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

In “<\/span>Kinsey\u2019s Paedophiles<\/span><\/a>,” Jones states: \u201cKinsey \u2026 gives pretty graphic descriptions of [children\u2019s] response[s] to what he calls sexual stimulation. If you read those words, what he\u2019s talking about is kids who are screaming, kids who are protesting in every way they can the fact that their bodies \u2026 are being violated.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

But Kinsey defined children\u2019s expressions of pain and struggle as \u201corgasms.\u201d Specifically, he defined \u201cviolent convulsion,\u201d \u201cviolent arm and leg movements,\u201d \u201cweeping,\u201d \u201csobbing, or more violent cries, sometimes with an abundance of tears (especially among younger children),\u201d \u201cfight[ing],\u201d \u201cextreme trembling, collapse, loss of color, and sometimes fainting\u201d as evidence of orgasm.[<\/span>5]<\/span> \u201c[S]ome \u2026 suffer excruciating pain and may scream\u201d during so-called orgasm, according to Kinsey.[<\/span>6]<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cChildren gasping for breath, sobbing, screaming in pain, fainting, and desperately struggling to fight off the assailants Kinsey dignified as \u2018partners\u2019 \u2013 these were descriptions of hapless victims,\u201d writes Jones.[<\/span>7]<\/span> But Kinsey insisted that \u201cadult males who have had sexual contacts with younger boys \u2026 are able to recognize and interpret the boys\u2019 experiences.\u201d[<\/span>8]<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

One critic, however, noted what should have been obvious: \u201cLooking to sexual molesters for information on childhood sexuality is like drawing conclusions on the sexuality of adult females from the testimony of rapists.\u201d[<\/span>9]<\/span><\/p>\n

Kinsey Institute associate John Gagnon stated that \u201cA less neutral observer than Kinsey would have described these events as sex crimes[.]\u201d[<\/span>10]<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cTRAINED OBSERVERS\u201d<\/b><\/p>\n

It is worth discussing the identities and actions of the predatory pedophiles characterized by Kinsey as \u201ctrained observers.\u201d Two have become known to the public.<\/span><\/p>\n

The first, Rex King, \u201cmolested at least 800 boys and girls, recording the details in explicit handwritten diaries\u201d over the course of at least 20 years; the so-called data in the infamous tables 31 and 33 in the “<\/span>Male”<\/span> volume came from these diaries, <\/span>according<\/span><\/a> to Yorkshire Television documentarians. According to Jones, King also had sex with 17 of the 33 relatives with whom he had contact, including his father and grandmother.[<\/span>11]<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cKinsey treated [King] like a colleague, a fellow seeker of truth who had compiled valuable scientific data,\u201d writes Jones.[<\/span>12]<\/span> Kinsey viewed King as \u201ca hero,\u201d according to Kinsey associate Vincent Nowlis, because \u201cthe guy ha[d] the courage and the ingenuity and the sexual energy and the curiosity to have this fantastic multi-year odyssey through the Southwest and never get caught.\u201d[<\/span>13]<\/span><\/p>\n

Kinsey\u2019s letters to King expressed both flattery and explicit approval; in one, Kinsey told King that \u201cEverything that you have accumulated must find its way into scientific channels,\u201d an outcome Kinsey personally ensured.[<\/span>14]<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cBetraying a huge moral blind spot,\u201d Jones writes, \u201cKinsey took the records of [King\u2019s] criminal acts and transformed them into scientific data.\u201d[<\/span>15]<\/span><\/p>\n

Another of Kinsey\u2019s \u201ctrained observer\u201d molesters was Dr. Fritz von Balluseck. <\/span>According<\/span><\/a> to Yorkshire Television documentarians, von Balluseck was the Nazi commandant of the small Polish town of Jedrzejow from 1942-44. There, he targeted children for sexual assault, making them \u201cchoose between [him] and the gas oven,\u201d according to the German newspaper “<\/span>Der Morgenpost<\/span>.”[<\/span>16]<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Von Balluseck was tried in Berlin in 1957 for a child sex murder. His diaries, which documented in chilling detail his violations of countless children and which were shared with Kinsey, were found during the trial. The presiding judge, Heinrich Berger, commenting on the content of these volumes, at one point exclaimed, \u201cThis is no longer human! What was this all for? To tell Kinsey about?\u201d[<\/span>17]<\/span><\/p>\n

Von Balluseck indeed \u201cnamed the so-called sexual psychologist Kinsey\u201d as a \u201crole model for his perverse actions,\u201d and said that \u201cKinsey himself\u201d asked him to collect \u201cdata\u201d and report back, according to the German press.[<\/span>18]<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Judge Berger noted that \u201cInstead of answering his sordid letters, the strange American scholar should rather have made sure that Mr. von Balluseck was put behind bars.\u201d[<\/span>19]<\/span> But Kinsey refused to cooperate with the investigation and prosecution of von Balluseck,[<\/span>20]<\/span> and even warned von Balluseck to \u201cbe careful\u201d in one of his letters.[<\/span>21]<\/span><\/p>\n

WHITEWASHING CRIMES AGAINST CHILDREN<\/b><\/p>\n

Kinsey described pedophiles as the \u201cpartners\u201d of their child victims, and described molestation and rape as \u201ccontacts\u201d and \u201cplay.\u201d These terms imply consent and whitewash the trauma incurred by sexual abuse.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Jones writes:<\/span><\/p>\n

Hoping to counter the public\u2019s image of pedophiles as predatory monsters, [Kinsey] attempted to put child molesters in a benign light. Blaming the victims, Kinsey reported that in many incest situations children often initiated additional contacts after the first incident, and he noted that sexual contacts between children and adults who were not family members \u2018often involved considerable affection.\u2019 \u2026\u00a0<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

And while he admitted that \u2018some 80 percent of the children had been emotionally upset or frightened by their contacts with adults,\u2019 he likened the level of their fright to how youngsters typically reacted to \u2018insects, spiders, or other objects against which they have been adversely conditioned.\u2019\u00a0<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

\u2018If a child were not culturally conditioned,\u2019 he observed, \u2018it is doubtful if it would be disturbed by sexual approaches[.]\u2019 \u2026 His definition of harm in young girls \u2026 exclude[d] \u2018a very few cases of vaginal bleeding,\u2019 which, he insisted, \u2018did not appear to do any appreciable damage.\u2019 <\/span><\/i>[<\/span>22]<\/span><\/p>\n

Jones notes that it was Kinsey\u2019s hatred of traditional morality that led him to \u201ctake a benign view of child molestation and incest.\u201d[<\/span>23]<\/span> Kinsey was indeed \u201cblind to the coercion inherent in any sexual contact between an adult and a child.\u201d[<\/span>24]<\/span><\/p>\n

AN INSIDIOUS LEGACY<\/b><\/p>\n

Kinsey\u2019s ideas about children\u2019s alleged sexuality have, tragically, infected our contemporary culture, particularly in the area of sex education. This was part of Kinsey\u2019s plan. According to Jones, \u201cKinsey sensed an opportunity to use sex education to advance his private war against traditional morality. \u2026 He was eager to transform his hidden war against Victorian morality into a socially acceptable public crusade.\u201d[<\/span>25]<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

By all appearances, Kinsey succeeded in that goal, as will be discussed in the next installment of this series.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
