{"id":294593,"date":"2023-07-12T06:39:21","date_gmt":"2023-07-12T11:39:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.liveaction.org\/news\/?p=294593"},"modified":"2024-09-20T16:12:56","modified_gmt":"2024-09-20T21:12:56","slug":"pro-abortion-parasite-claim-children","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/pro-abortion-parasite-claim-children\/","title":{"rendered":"Video silences pro-abortion claim that preborn children are &#8216;parasites&#8217;"},"content":{"rendered":"<div style=\"margin-top: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px;\" class=\"sharethis-inline-share-buttons\" ><\/div><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Monica Snyder, executive director of Secular Pro-Life, recently <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/reel\/276537008381632\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">responded<\/a> to a common pro-abortion claim that preborn children are nothing more than \u201cparasites.&#8221;\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cThe fetus is literally a parasite,\u201d argues a woman playing the part of a pro-abortion activist.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Snyder\u2019s response immediately shows the twisted logic being used to claim that human beings are equivalent to parasites. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cYou think humans reproduce via parasitism?\u201d she asks.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The pro-abortion response is, \u201cThe fetus is a foreign entity that\u2019s tricking the host into accepting and not attacking it.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Snyder&#8217;s response points to the truth of reproduction. \u201cWhy &#8216;tricking&#8217; the host? Why not &#8216;communicating&#8217; with the host? You make it sound like we have a biological imperative to not reproduce. Do you believe that pregnancy that results in the live birth of a healthy infant is a <em>failure?<\/em>\u201d Snyder asked. \u201cI\u2019m not talking about wantedness. I\u2019m talking about biology. You think successful reproduction, the live birth of healthy children, is our body\u2019s failure to defend against invaders?\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The video then shifts the discussion to miscarriage.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cWhat does the &#8216;fetus is a parasite&#8217; nonsense mean for miscarriage?\u201d Snyder asks.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" style=\"border: none; overflow: hidden;\" src=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/plugins\/video.php?height=476&amp;href=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.facebook.com%2Fsecularprolife%2Fvideos%2F276537008381632%2F&amp;show_text=true&amp;width=267&amp;t=0\" width=\"267\" height=\"591\" frameborder=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe>\n<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The other woman states, \u201cMiscarriage is a really good example actually. Our bodies recognize the embryos are invaders and we expel them. Why else would miscarriage be so common?&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Snyder explains, \u201cMiscarriage is more likely to happen if there is a <em>problem<\/em> with reproduction, often a genetic anomaly with the embryo making him or her not viable, but could also be uterine problems such as undiagnosed fibroids or another maternal health conditions such as an acute infection. Miscarriage is the result of things going wrong \u2014 and for the record, it is unbelievably ignorant for you to describe miscarriage as some kind of success story.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The pro-abortion response: \u201cI\u2019m not saying miscarriage is great. I\u2019m saying it demonstrates the adversarial relationship between pregnant women and embryos.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Snyder argues, \u201cYou\u2019re mouthing off to [parents who have lost children] about how our bodies were just way better at defeating our parasitic children than the bodies of parents who got to bring their newborn babies home. Feel free \u2014 feel encouraged, actually, to privately educate yourself about these issues before you try to fit an abortion rights narrative.&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Live Action News previously <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/study-proves-fetus-as-parasite-arguments-false\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">reported<\/a> on a 2016 scientific study that debunked this claim. \u201cPreborn babies have their own DNA from day one, their own heart and other organs, measurable brainwaves, and can move and respond to stimuli while yet inside the womb,&#8221; wrote Live Action News. &#8220;Their stem cells have even been found to migrate during pregnancy to help regenerate any damage to their mothers\u2019 hearts. Preborn human beings are not equivalent to parasites or tumors, and aborting them is not equivalent to extracting a tooth\u2026.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">To insist that a preborn child is a parasite is pseudo-science nonsense and, as Snyder notes, pro-abortion propaganda meant to confuse the public into thinking the execution of a child in the womb is anything but the intentional killing of a unique human.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.liveaction.org\/target-petition\/?utm_source=lan&amp;utm_medium=display&amp;utm_campaign=lan_website&amp;utm_content=target_petition\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\"
