Operation Rescue has received<\/a> a 911 recording that reveals an abortion injury occurred on February 15 at Everett Health Center-Planned Parenthood in Everett, Washington.<\/p>\n

During the 911 call, the Planned Parenthood facility informed the dispatcher that the patient was a woman in her twenties suffering \u201cpossible perforation needs going to the hospital.\u201d When the dispatcher asked if he should send ALS (advanced life support) transport or BLS (basic life support transport), the employee responded, “I think BLS transport,” even though a uterine perforation would be considered a serious emergency.<\/p>\n

Uterine perforation, where one of the layers of the uterine wall is torn open, is one of the possible complications of a surgical abortion. As a result of the injury, the patient could experience<\/a> heavy bleeding, nausea or vomiting, and abdominal pain. It is a serious injury that requires immediate medical attention.<\/p>\n

The Everett Planned Parenthood facility advertises<\/a> abortions up to 13 weeks and 6 days, which means the woman likely underwent either a suction dilation and curettage abortion (D&C), or a dilation & evacuation abortion (D&E). During the D&C procedure, the baby is suctioned out of her mother’s womb via a large vacuum; during the D&E procedure, she is pulled apart limb by limb with a Sopher clamp.<\/p>\n
