Wade"},"content":{"rendered":"<div style=\"margin-top: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px;\" class=\"sharethis-inline-share-buttons\" ><\/div><p>According to the latest <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rasmussenreports.com\/public_content\/politics\/biden_administration\/majority_now_approve_scotus_abortion_ruling\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Rasmussen Reports<\/a> national telephone and online <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rasmussenreports.com\/public_content\/politics\/questions\/questions\/june_2023\/questions_roe_v_wade_june_25_27_2023\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">survey<\/a>, the majority of Americans now support the <em>Dobbs v. Jackson Women&#8217;s Health Organization<\/em> Supreme Court ruling one year after it overturned <em>Roe v. Wade<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>According to the poll, &#8220;52% of Likely U.S. Voters approve of the court overturning Roe v. Wade, including 37% who Strongly Approve&#8221;\u00a0of the decision. That is an increase of two percent over polling from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rasmussenreports.com\/public_content\/politics\/general_politics\/june_2022\/abortion_half_of_voters_approve_supreme_court_ruling\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">June 2022<\/a> when just 50% approved of the <em>Dobbs<\/em> ruling. Forty-four percent (44%) currently disapprove of the Dobbs ruling and 36% strongly disapprove of the decision.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">Majority Now Approve SCOTUS Abortion Ruling<\/p>\n<p>One year after the Supreme Court overturned the 1973 Roe v. Wade ruling, so that each state can now determine its own laws regarding abortion, a majority of voters approve the decision.<a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/77nDmgcpC2\">https:\/\/t.co\/77nDmgcpC2<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/QlJCkiBUJZ\">pic.twitter.com\/QlJCkiBUJZ<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Rasmussen Reports (@Rasmussen_Poll) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/Rasmussen_Poll\/status\/1674425738190295043?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">June 29, 2023<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>The survey was conducted from June 25-27, 2023, a full year after the June 24, 2022 ruling that led to violent <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/fbi-70-threats-violence-pro-lifers\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">attacks<\/a> against pro-life organizations. The Supreme Court decision did not prohibit abortion but allowed states to pass laws protecting preborn children from abortion at any point in pregnancy. Under <em>Roe<\/em>, states were forced to allow abortion until the so-called age of viability, largely viewed to be 24 weeks though children born as early as 21 weeks have survived.<\/p>\n<p>Rasmussen Reports asked those surveyed, &#8220;Last year, the Supreme Court overturned the 1973 Roe v. Wade decision, so that each state can now determine its own laws regarding abortion. Do you approve or disapprove of the court overturning Roe v. Wade?&#8221; Fifty-two percent said they did approve.<\/p>\n<p>In January 2023, a Knights of Columbus-Marist Poll <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/marist-poll-80-percent-oppose-unrestricted-abortion\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">revealed<\/a> that 69% of Americans want abortion to be significantly restricted, despite the fact that 61% of those surveyed consider themselves to be pro-choice. According to that poll, 79% of Americans <em>do not<\/em>\u00a0want abortion on demand through all nine months of pregnancy, as was allowed under\u00a0<em>Roe v. Wade<\/em>\u00a0and as abortion advocates and pro-abortion politicians are\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cassidy.senate.gov\/newsroom\/press-releases\/cassidy-votes-against-abortion-on-demand-bill-to-allow-abortion-up-to-birth\">seeking<\/a>. In addition, the poll indicates that 69% of Americans want abortion restricted even earlier than six months, the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/three-reasons-viability-rule-abortion-unsound\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">so-called assumed point of \u2018viability\u2019<\/a>.
