Another <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/rtwngsavages\/status\/1674541491530903554?s=20\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">mocked<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Planned Parenthood\u2019s \u201c[v]irginity is a social construct\u201d graphic with one that read \u201c[a]ge is a social construct.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<div class=\"video-container\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Once again Planned Parenthood is gaslighting the youth, this time into thinking virginity doesn\u2019t exist, and that they should throw it away immediately. <\/p>\n<p>Why? Could it be because virgins aren\u2019t paying customers to Planned Parenthood?<\/p>\n<p>Stop telling children they are sexual\u2026 <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/nB11koCmlB\">https:\/\/t.co\/nB11koCmlB<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&mdash; Gays Against Groomers (@againstgrmrs) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/againstgrmrs\/status\/1674587739725938688?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">June 30, 2023<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/div>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">While \u201cvirginity\u201d does carry social connotations, it\u2019s generally understood to describe something one possesses before they\u2019ve engaged in sexual activity with another person. <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.merriam-webster.com\/dictionary\/virgin\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Merriam-Webster<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> dictionary and <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dictionary.com\/browse\/virgin\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Dictionary.com<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> each attest to this view of virginity while including additional characteristics surrounding purity and being single.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Planned Parenthood\u2019s <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.plannedparenthood.org\/blog\/what-is-the-definition-of-a-virgin\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">website<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> similarly says that \u201c[t]he most basic definition of virginity is never having had sex.\u201d On <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.plannedparenthood.org\/learn\/teens\/sex\/virginity\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">another page<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, the group says the \u201cdefinition of virginity is complicated, and it\u2019s really up to you to decide what you believe.\u201d Both pages note that some people may consider sexual activity other than vaginal intercourse to impact their status as virgins.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">One user <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/memeheadroom\/status\/1674509978369945616?s=20\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">said<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, \u201cWe get it: virgins are a threat to your bottom line.\u201d <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Author Samuel Sey similarly wrote that \u201cTeenage virgins are bad for Planned Parenthood\u2019s baby-killing business.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The group\u2019s most recent annual report showed it receiving <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/planned-parenthood-report-record-high-abortions-drop\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">record-high<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> funding and committing 374,155 abortions in 2021-2022. It also <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/cdn.plannedparenthood.org\/uploads\/filer_public\/25\/ed\/25ed2675-fbbc-453b-8b35-f8ddaa025b57\/281222-ppfa-annualreport-c3-digital.pdf\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">reported<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> providing 2,348,275 contraceptive services, including 543,046 emergency contraception kits and 1,650,350 reversible contraception clients.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Planned Parenthood arguably has an incentive to degrade society\u2019s notion of virginity. It serves as a virtual epicenter for facilitating sexual activity \u2013 whether that be through abortion, contraception, or sex education that eschews traditional morality.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">According to a Claremont Institute <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2023\/03\/03\/the-sex-ed-industrial-complex-revolves-around-planned-parenthood-and-is-fueled-by-your-tax-dollars\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">report<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, Planned Parenthood and its affiliates dominate the sex education grant process:<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><em><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">80 percent of HHS sex education funding, went to grantees partnering with Planned Parenthood. Seventy-nine percent of successful programs used Planned Parenthood-endorsed curricula. Planned Parenthood and its affiliates won 86 percent of TPP [Teen Pregnancy Prevention] funds, 90 percent of PREP [Personal Responsibility Education Program] funds, and about three-quarters of SRAE [Sexual Risk Avoidance Education] funds.<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The organization\u2019s \u201cReducing the Risk\u201d curriculum <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/idahofreedom.org\/planned-parenthood-endorsed-sex-ed-is-in-these-14-public-schools\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">reportedly promotes<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> the \u201cNew Abstinence,\u201d which means \u201cchoosing not to do any sexual activity that carries a risk for pregnancy or STI\/HIV.\u201d <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Live Action News&#8217; &#8220;Selling Sex in Schools&#8221; series describes <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/selling-sex-schools-whos-behind-ed-children?_ga=2.34908193.1642411185.1687144645-584125488.1653765069&amp;_gl=1*7rwcne*_ga*NTg0MTI1NDg4LjE2NTM3NjUwNjk.*_ga_V8PHJBDT1H*MTY4ODA5NTUyOS4xNzg2LjEuMTY4ODA5NTU0Mi40Ny4wLjA.\">who is behind<\/a> Planned Parenthood&#8217;s sex education, how their sex ed <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/selling-sex-children-groomed-early-sexual-activity\/\">grooms children<\/a> for early sexual activity, how their sex ed is <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/selling-sex-schools-ed-designed-failure\/\">actually <em>designed<\/em> to fail<\/a>, and the fact that population control and eugenics groups are <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/selling-sex-schools-population-control-eugenics\/\">funding<\/a> this sex ed. In addition, Live Action&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=4WNsKJkru2A&amp;list=PLRCroccSjXWR4KSRwZQ3yBgv88kkorkCr\">Sex Ed video series<\/a> (content warning) uncovered Planned Parenthood employees encouraging young teens to use pornography and to experiment sexually with things like BDSM (sado-masochism).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It\u2019s unclear what exactly prompted the abortion provider\u2019s tweet on Thursday and it wasn\u2019t the first time the group has made such a statement. As far back as 2012, the group\u2019s website <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.plannedparenthood.org\/blog\/is-a-person-still-a-virgin-if-they-have-oral-sex\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">declared<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> that there\u2019s \u201cno one universal definition of virginity\u201d before telling readers that only they can answer whether \u201coral sex counts as sex.\u201d In 2019, it similarly <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/PPFA\/status\/1192187633516056577\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">tweeted<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> \u201cA virgin is someone who\u2019s never had sex. But \u2018sex\u2019 means different things to different people, so \u2018virginity\u2019 does too. Many don&#8217;t care what it means or think it matters.
