The conversation between the 911 dispatcher and the Planned Parenthood staffer indicated that the woman may have suffered a lacerated or perforated uterus.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We have a patient post-procedure hemorrhaging,&#8221; the staffer began, saying the patient was under sedation before giving more details about the situation. &#8220;Doctor has inserted a catheter, she has, um, added sutures. She&#8217;s gonna receive Methergine.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>As usual for abortion emergencies, the ambulance was instructed to go to the back of the building.<\/p>\n<p><center><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"YouTube video player\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/Uc1wtOXsYig\" width=\"640\" height=\"355\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/center>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The comments about the patient hemorrhaging and needing sutures indicate that the woman potentially had her uterus or another vital organ lacerated or perforated, though no specific details are known at this moment. Operation Rescue also noted that Methergine is often used to treat or prevent excessive bleeding after childbirth&#8230; but that a clinical trial testing its usage after an abortion found that it caused more bleeding, not less. A foley catheter is also known to be used stop heavy bleeding; it&#8217;s a tactic <a href=\"https:\/\/www.operationrescue.org\/archives\/woman-hospitalized-with-uncontrolled-bleeding-after-abortion-at-planned-parenthood\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">previously used<\/a> by the Flossmoor Planned Parenthood facility.<\/p>\n<p>Lacerations and perforations are also <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/pubmed\/18772096\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">known risks<\/a> of surgical abortions, particularly those taking place in the second or third trimester. Numerous organs can be injured during the procedure, including the uterus, cervix, bowel, bladder, rectum, and more.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.liveaction.org\/target-petition\/?utm_source=lan&amp;utm_medium=display&amp;utm_campaign=lan_website&amp;utm_content=target_petition\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-292702\" src=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/06\/LA23MAY_TargetPetition_resized-700x180.jpg\" alt=\"Target petition\" width=\"700\" height=\"180\" srcset=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/06\/LA23MAY_TargetPetition_resized-700x180.jpg 700w, https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/06\/LA23MAY_TargetPetition_resized-300x77.jpg 300w, https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/06\/LA23MAY_TargetPetition_resized-768x198.jpg 768w, https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/06\/LA23MAY_TargetPetition_resized-500x129.jpg 500w, https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/06\/LA23MAY_TargetPetition_resized.jpg 1200w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 700px) 100vw, 700px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>This particular facility also has a history of <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/illinois-planned-parenthood-calls-911-twice-bleeding\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">injuring women<\/a>, with two women there injured <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/two-women-injured-days-illinois-planned-parenthood\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">within two days<\/a> in 2020.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe hope and pray this woman survived this horrific ordeal,\u201d Operation Rescue President Troy Newman said in a statement. \u201cIt is all so senseless.
