{"id":290829,"date":"2023-05-12T06:40:18","date_gmt":"2023-05-12T11:40:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.liveaction.org\/news\/?p=290829"},"modified":"2023-05-11T17:08:26","modified_gmt":"2023-05-11T22:08:26","slug":"flouting-law-fda-abortion-ways-abort-children","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/flouting-law-fda-abortion-ways-abort-children\/","title":{"rendered":"Flouting law and FDA regulation, Big Abortion seeks new and barbaric ways to abort America\u2019s children"},"content":{"rendered":"<div style=\"margin-top: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px;\" class=\"sharethis-inline-share-buttons\" ><\/div><p>(<a href=\"https:\/\/pregnancyhelpnews.com\/flouting-law-and-fda-regulation-big-abortion-seeks-new-and-barbaric-ways-to-abort-america-s-children\">Pregnancy Help News<\/a>)\u00a0Atrocious procedures are never in short supply for those who demand or provide abortion.<\/p>\n<p>Big Abortion and its <a href=\"https:\/\/pregnancyhelpnews.com\/media-coverage-of-fda-abortion-pill-case-promotes-dangerous-drugs-over-women-s-health\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">echoing cheerleaders<\/a>, many in the form of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnn.com\/2023\/04\/11\/health\/misoprostol-medication-abortion-pill\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">media minions<\/a>, demand abortion availability any time, any place, no matter the cost of human life.<\/p>\n<p>In yet another attempt to maintain unfettered access to abortion, the latest push is towards \u201cmisoprostol-only\u201d abortion.<\/p>\n<p>Despite there being no current restriction of mifepristone, with the abortion drug\u2019s approval <a href=\"https:\/\/pregnancyhelpnews.com\/breaking-supreme-court-rules-to-preserve-abortion-pill-access-thomas-alito-dissent\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">subject to legal challenge<\/a>, radical abortion protagonists fear a future with limited access to the life-ending procedure of chemical abortion.<\/p>\n<h4>What is the abortion pill?<\/h4>\n<p>The abortion pill process in the United States as approved by the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fda.gov\/drugs\/postmarket-drug-safety-information-patients-and-providers\/information-about-mifepristone-medical-termination-pregnancy-through-ten-weeks-gestation\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">U.S. Food and Drug Administration<\/a> involves two different drugs, given at two different times, for two different purposes.<\/p>\n<p>The first is mifepristone, which works to break down the pregnancy and <a href=\"https:\/\/pregnancyhelpnews.com\/the-need-for-and-availability-of-abortion-in-post-roe-america\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">end the life<\/a> of the growing child.<\/p>\n<p>The second, misoprostol, works to cause uterine contractions and bleeding that empty the uterus.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"YouTube video player\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/gnEHZiud8dg\" width=\"640\" height=\"355\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><span data-mce-type=\"bookmark\" style=\"display: inline-block; width: 0px; overflow: hidden; line-height: 0;\" class=\"mce_SELRES_start\">\ufeff<\/span><\/iframe>\n<\/p>\n<p>Marching to its own beat and moral code, without FDA guidance or approval, the international health journal <a href=\"https:\/\/www.contraceptionjournal.org\/article\/S0010-7824(23)00060-4\/fulltext#gr1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><em>Contraception<\/em><\/a> is supporting misoprostol-only abortion in a special May 2023 article.<\/p>\n<p>The new protocols are based on &#8220;adjusted research&#8221; and very little supportive data.<\/p>\n<p>Working hand in hand with self-styled \u201chealth organizations\u201d that claim abortion is a type of healthcare, such as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.plannedparenthood.org\/learn\/abortion\/the-abortion-pill\/how-do-i-have-an-abortion-using-only-misoprostol\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Planned Parenthood<\/a>, they are sadly <a href=\"https:\/\/pregnancyhelpnews.com\/planned-parenthood-will-go-forward-with-pill-abortions-with-or-without-mifepristone\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">promoting this painful, miserable process<\/a> as a substitute for the two-drug process.<\/p>\n<p><strong>With the future of mifepristone still held up in the courts, this appears to be a warning of how Big Abortion will still win the war.\u00a0<\/strong>When a chemical abortion is started without the use of mifepristone, that first drug typically given in a chemical abortion, the pregnancy is still thriving and attached to the uterine lining. And thus, with the intake of misoprostol, strong contractions begin suddenly.<\/p>\n<p>But because as far as the mother\u2019s body is concerned the pregnancy is meant to continue, many doses of misoprostol are typically needed to empty the uterus.<\/p>\n<p>In a display of considerable bias, one of the authors of the <em>Contraception<\/em> article, is <a href=\"https:\/\/bixbycenter.ucsf.edu\/daniel-grossman-md-facog\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Daniel Grossman<\/a>, who held the position of Health Specialist at the Population Council in Mexico City \u2013 the same organization that brought the abortion pill into the U.S. and formed <a href=\"https:\/\/www.earlyoptionpill.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Danco Laboratories<\/a>. Danco exists solely to manufacture and sell the abortion pill.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/abortiondocs.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/Daniel-Grossman-_-ANSIRH.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Grossman<\/a>, who <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/tangled-web-money-deception-abortion-pill\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">teaches and provides abortion<\/a>, has served as a <a href=\"http:\/\/unmfamilyplanning.pbworks.com\/w\/file\/fetch\/120098451\/Grossman_OBGYN%202017.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">consultant to Planned Parenthood<\/a> and a board member for NARAL, and <a href=\"https:\/\/pregnancyhelpnews.com\/grossman-refutes-grossman-on-safety-of-self-managed-chemical-abortions\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">his research<\/a> has primarily focused on contraception and abortion.<\/p>\n<p>Further bias toward abortion is displayed through another author of the <em>Contraception<\/em> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.contraceptionjournal.org\/article\/S0010-7824(23)00060-4\/fulltext\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">study<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/abortiondocs.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/Creinin-Mitchell-Curriculum-Vitae.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Mitch Creinin<\/a>, who admits to being \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/abortiondocs.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/Physicians-for-Reproductive-Health-_-Mitchell-Creinin-MD.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">passionate<\/a>\u201d about providing abortion. Creinin is a <a href=\"https:\/\/escholarship.org\/content\/qt8vh5795x\/qt8vh5795x_noSplash_e7c22a2fb76e3ba50878a12340029372.pdf?t=q4gfae\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">consultant for Danco<\/a>, and the father of the abortion pill.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/pregnancyhelpnews.com\/pro-abortion-activists-attack-life-saving-abortion-pill-reversal-protocol-want-feds-to-squelch-pregnancy-help-speech\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Creinin<\/a> admitted to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.medscape.com\/viewarticle\/990705\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><em>MedScape Medical News<\/em><\/a> that the misoprostol-only protocol is not as effective as the combination treatment and requires much higher doses, stating, \u201cTo get misoprostol by itself to have relatively high efficacy, you have to use multiple doses. It causes significantly more side effects, and it&#8217;s less effective.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Organizations with abortion agendas, like the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.acog.org\/clinical\/clinical-guidance\/practice-bulletin\/articles\/2020\/10\/medication-abortion-up-to-70-days-of-gestation\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists<\/a> and the <a href=\"https:\/\/srhr.org\/abortioncare\/chapter-3\/abortion-3-4\/medical-management-of-induced-abortion-recommendations-27-30-3-4-2\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">World Health Organization<\/a>, say the <a href=\"https:\/\/pregnancyhelpnews.com\/skipping-ahead-to-misoprostol-only-won-t-let-the-fda-off-the-hook\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">one-medication protocol<\/a> is an \u201cacceptable choice\u201d and sadly dismiss the safety of women in their pursuit of ending as many pregnancies as possible.<\/p>\n<p>Yet patients using <a href=\"https:\/\/www.npr.org\/sections\/health-shots\/2023\/04\/10\/1168857095\/misoprostol-only-medical-abortion\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">misoprostol alone<\/a> experience days and possibly weeks of a miserable process.<\/p>\n<p>Yes, weeks.<\/p>\n<p>This prolonged process <a href=\"https:\/\/www.clevescene.com\/news\/what-does-a-misoprostol-only-abortion-look-like-41789064\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">can last a week or two<\/a> and include a greater intensity of uterine cramping, nausea, vomiting, fever, chills, and diarrhea.<\/p>\n<p>How can that be \u201cacceptable\u201d?<\/p>\n<p><strong>Other considerations for those considering this type of abortion:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Misoprostol is actually not an abortion drug and is made to prevent and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.drugs.com\/misoprostol.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">treat ulcers<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Misoprostol is <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fda.gov\/drugs\/postmarket-drug-safety-information-patients-and-providers\/misoprostol-marketed-cytotec-information\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">not approved by the FDA for abortion<\/a> and even has a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pfizermedicalinformation.com\/en-us\/cytotec\/boxed-warning\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">\u201cblack box warning\u201d<\/a> for use beyond eight weeks of pregnancy.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022<a href=\"https:\/\/www.reliasmedia.com\/articles\/51239-searle-sends-a-warning-about-misoprostol-use\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"> Searle<\/a>, which manufacturers misoprostol, adamantly warns consumers not to use this drug for abortion purposes.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Many points in<\/strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.contraceptionjournal.org\/article\/S0010-7824(23)00060-4\/fulltext#gr1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>this study<\/strong><\/a> <strong>appear to bend the science in order to fit the agenda. Just a few of which to take note:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">\u2022 The researchers suddenly counter years of traditional obstetric care by claiming that Rh testing and provision of Rh immune globulin are unnecessary prior to medication abortion before 12 weeks of gestation.\u00a0<em>Could this \u201cnew science\u201d leave women vulnerable to future pregnancy losses?<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">\u2022 Admitting that dosing must be repeated a number of times, the protocol specifies that each patient should receive \u201cthree or four doses of misoprostol 800\u2009\u00b5g at the clinician\u2019s discretion, plus an additional dose for use in case of need.\u201d <em>How many doses are too many? There seems to be a wide range of dosing and giving extra \u201cjust in case\u201d casts serious doubt it the efficacy of this drug.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">\u2022 As a solution to the days or weeks of repeated dosing required to accomplish this type of misery, the sample protocol specifies that clinicians should provide or recommend antipyretics, analgesics, antiemetics, and antidiarrheal medication. <em>In an attempt to cover for the misery of this process, abortion providers are instructed to give more medications.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">\u2022 The study boldly contradicts itself by stating that \u201cLimited data are available on the expected timing or duration of patient symptoms after successful abortion with misoprostol-only.\u201d And similarly states that \u201cNo data are available that establish the effectiveness of continued misoprostol dosing to terminate a viable pregnancy that has already been exposed to three or more prior doses.\u201d Yet completely contradicts itself by stating, \u201cPatients should be reassured that misoprostol-only is a <strong>well-studied and recommended regimen<\/strong> for abortion.\u201d <em>So which is it? \u201cLimited data\u201d or \u201cwell studied\u201d?<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">\u2022 The study ends with a political statement which is obviously out of place in a medical protocol. \u201cAfter more than 22 years on the U.S. market and clinical use for more than 3 decades throughout the world, the safety and effectiveness of mifepristone are conclusively established. From a medical perspective, to prohibit the use of this drug for abortion care is senseless.\u201d <em>Since when does a medical \u201csample protocol\u201d speak directly to our courts? They do not even attempt to hide their political motivations.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.liveaction.org\/walgreens-cvs-petition\/\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-283198\" src=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/01\/Keep-Abortion-Pill-Out-Of-Walgreens-CVSLAN-Horizontal--700x180.jpg\" alt=\"Walgreens CVS banner\" width=\"700\" height=\"180\" srcset=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/01\/Keep-Abortion-Pill-Out-Of-Walgreens-CVSLAN-Horizontal--700x180.jpg 700w, https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/01\/Keep-Abortion-Pill-Out-Of-Walgreens-CVSLAN-Horizontal--300x77.jpg 300w, https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/01\/Keep-Abortion-Pill-Out-Of-Walgreens-CVSLAN-Horizontal--768x197.jpg 768w, https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/01\/Keep-Abortion-Pill-Out-Of-Walgreens-CVSLAN-Horizontal--500x128.jpg 500w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 700px) 100vw, 700px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Is this harmful protocol some sort of threat to those who hope to take mifepristone off the market?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Researchers and organizations that claim to have the best interest of women in mind once again are failing to protect women and provide true healthcare.<\/p>\n<p>How do they plan to answer for the many inconsistencies in this protocol?<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">\u2022 Off-label use of a drug, not approved for abortion?<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><em>\u201cNo problem as long as abortion continues.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">\u2022 Black box warning on misoprostol?<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><em>\u201cThe FDA ignores the warning it so why shouldn&#8217;t everyone?\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">\u2022 Manufacturer warning not to use misoprostol for abortion?<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><em>\u201cMaybe no one will realize it&#8217;s not even an abortion drug.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">\u2022 Very little data to support this protocol or effectiveness?<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><em>\u201cWho needs credible research to protect women and children from harm?\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">\u2022 Multiple doses of misery for women over the course of days and weeks?<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><em>\u201cJust look the other way. We must have boundless access to abortion.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Women are entitled to real healthcare, truth, and supportive data that is free of political bias.
