Additionally, a fifth woman was released despite appearing to be in distress.<\/p>\n<p>Operation Rescue <a href=\"https:\/\/www.operationrescue.org\/archives\/hope-clinic-for-women-four-women-transported-by-ambulance-in-less-than-two-months\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">reported<\/a> that this year, in March and April alone, at least four women were taken by ambulance to nearby hospitals from Hope Clinic for Women in Granite City.<\/p>\n<h4>March 10<\/h4>\n<p>A 32-year-old woman was taken by ambulance at around 10:00 am after experiencing post-abortion bleeding. Little other information was given, other than she was bleeding \u2014 ostensibly uncontrollably, if she needed to be taken to the hospital \u2014 and was stable.<\/p>\n<p>Operation Rescue was not able to obtain the computer-aided dispatch transcript from Granite City, which could have given more information into the woman&#8217;s injury. Pro-life advocates on the scene said that the ambulance did not turn on its lights and sirens until it was over a block away from the abortion facility, and that it passed the nearest hospital \u2014 Gateway Regional \u2014 on its way out of Granite City. Gateway Regional is located within walking distance of the abortion facility.<\/p>\n<h4>March 16<\/h4>\n<p>Shortly after noon, the abortion facility called 911 for a 22-year-old woman. The abortion facility staffer said she needed to be taken to Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri, which is roughly 20 minutes away. Hope Clinic frequently sends women to Barnes-Jewish, which is a Level 1 Trauma Center.<\/p>\n<p>A computer-aided dispatch was again not available.<\/p>\n<p><center><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"YouTube video player\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/RhjhTSZ5oso\" width=\"640\" height=\"355\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/center>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4>March 23<\/h4>\n<p>A woman was again sent to Barnes-Jewish after a 26-year-old woman was said to be experiencing bleeding. The dispatcher repeatedly apologized for having to ask questions, which are necessary to determine the level of care the injured woman needs. Little information was given beyond the fact that she was stable and the abortion procedure was completed.<\/p>\n<p>For the third time, a computer-aided dispatch was not provided.<\/p>\n<h4>April 12<\/h4>\n<p>On this date, an ambulance was not called, but witnesses said a patient \u201cwas in terrible pain\u201d and \u201cwas still loopy from meds.&#8221; She evidently was not able to walk on her own, and had to be helped to her car. Despite this, the abortion facility released her.<\/p>\n<h4>April 28<\/h4>\n<p>In the fourth emergency, Hope Clinic called a private ambulance company, RuralMed EMS, which is located over an hour away from Granite City. The 911 call was not available, and witnesses at the scene said she appeared to be in distress.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.liveaction.org\/walgreens-cvs-petition\/\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-283198\" src=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/01\/Keep-Abortion-Pill-Out-Of-Walgreens-CVSLAN-Horizontal--700x180.jpg\" alt=\"Walgreens CVS banner\" width=\"700\" height=\"180\" srcset=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/01\/Keep-Abortion-Pill-Out-Of-Walgreens-CVSLAN-Horizontal--700x180.jpg 700w, https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/01\/Keep-Abortion-Pill-Out-Of-Walgreens-CVSLAN-Horizontal--300x77.jpg 300w, https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/01\/Keep-Abortion-Pill-Out-Of-Walgreens-CVSLAN-Horizontal--768x197.jpg 768w, https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/01\/Keep-Abortion-Pill-Out-Of-Walgreens-CVSLAN-Horizontal--500x128.jpg 500w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 700px) 100vw, 700px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<h4><strong>History<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>This abortion facility has injured <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/abortion-facility-injures-woman-walks-er-wheelchair\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">numerous women<\/a>, with seven documented injuries in 2022 and 15 since <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/illinois-abortion-facility-injures-woman\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">2020<\/a>. In <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/broken-elevator-illinois-abortion-emts-carry-woman\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">past emergencies<\/a>, EMTs have struggled to get injured women out of the abortion facility; during the COVID-19 pandemic, a woman had to be carried down the stairs while on a stretcher, as the elevator was broken.
