Late-term abortionist LeRoy Carhart died last week<\/a>. And though he had several abortion facilities across the country, his facility in Bellevue, Nebraska will stay open, according to his daughter.<\/p>\n

Carhart’s Bellevue facility was being investigated<\/a> by the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services, due to a severely botched abortion. A 35-year-old woman allegedly suffered internal hemorrhaging, coded at least once, and required surgery to save her life. These life-saving efforts were said to be necessary because the staff at Carhart\u2019s facility \u201clet her lie there too long\u201d before finally calling 911. The complainant, whose identity has not been revealed, asked for an investigation into patient care violations at the facility.<\/p>\n

Before his death, Carhart was the medical director of Clinics for Abortion and Reproductive Excellence (C.A.R.E.), with facilities in Bellevue and Bethesda, Maryland, and he was seeking a potential third location in Colorado.<\/p>\n
