Abortion chain Whole Woman’s Health recently closed<\/a>\u00a0its facility in Texas only to open a new facility across the border in New Mexico less than a year later. And they’ve set an astonishing goal for themselves: to commit 75 abortions each week.<\/p>\n

In a press release<\/a>, the business announced the opening of a facility in Albuquerque, just minutes away from Albuquerque International Sunport Airport (ABQ). Axios reported<\/a> the facility will commit abortions through the second trimester, with a “starting goal” of 75 patients each week.<\/p>\n

This goal raised eyebrows, with some Twitter users noting, “Whole<\/span> Woman<\/span>\u2019<\/span>s<\/span> Health<\/span>, an abortion chain that began in Texas, recently announced a ‘<\/span>goal’<\/span>\u00a0of 75 abortions per week for its new Albuquerque, New Mexico facility. The rich need their body parts and blood. Mom gets nothing,” and “Please explain why you set a ‘goal’\u2026 A New Mexico Abortion clinic has reportedly set a goal to kill 75 babies a week despite the common pro-abort talking point that abortion is about ‘choice.'”<\/span><\/p>\n

Whole Woman\u2019s Health CEO Amy Hagstrom Miller said in the press release, \u201cTomorrow marks nine months to the day that we were forced to shutter our Texas clinical operations; today we are once again able to provide abortion care to New Mexicans, Oklahomans and to the communities we served for 20 years in Texas.”<\/p>\n

Marva Sadler, Senior Director of Clinical Services, added, “In these times when abortion rights, health, and justice are under attack, our Albuquerque clinic will serve as a safe haven for abortion care.”<\/p>\n

Though Whole Woman’s Health complained of being “forced” to close its Texas facility, the business was accused of selling to a pro-life pregnancy center intentionally, solely to keep a rival abortion organization from buying the building.<\/p>\n

\u201cFor years, while clinic escorting at Whole Woman\u2019s Health, we heard antis say that they would turn the clinic into a memorial for the unborn if given the opportunity,” South Texans for Reproductive Justice claimed<\/a>. “Unfortunately, that day has come,\u201d they tweeted, adding, \u201cUnfortunately, our efforts were undermined not by anti-choicers, but by Whole Woman\u2019s Health itself.\u201d<\/p>\n

Regardless, Whole Woman’s Health seems thrilled with its new location, and the ability to commit more abortions \u2014 though if the movement is meant to be about “choice,” setting a goal of committing a specific number of abortions per week seems counter-intuitive.<\/p>\n

“The need is great for people who are being denied abortions in the Southwest region, and so we hope to meet the need,” Hagstrom Miller told Axios. “It’s really gonna be a huge difference for us to be able to say, ‘Yes, we can see you. You don’t have to travel as far.'”<\/p>\n

What women in the area may not know is that Whole Woman’s Health is notorious for not keeping its facilities in safe conditions. Numerous locations<\/a>\u00a0in the abortion chain have had a long history of documented health<\/a> and safety<\/a> violations \u2014 one of the chain’s Texas facilities had 17 pages worth of deficiencies cited in a single inspection.
