She added that followers should \u201cget a burner phone. use library computers. please stop doing criminal sh*t in a way that you&#8217;ll get got.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In a follow-up tweet, she <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/AngryBlackLady\/status\/1635324519190786049?s=20\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">said<\/a>, \u201c[Y]ou have to think like criminals because that&#8217;s what you are. Righteous criminals, sure. But criminals nonetheless. The four women communicated about the abortion largely through text messages that are now being used in the lawsuit. In August, a mother and her teenage daughter were <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/mother-daughter-arrested-nebraska-death-6-months\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">arrested<\/a> in Nebraska after the mother gave her daughter abortion pills at 24 weeks \u2014 beyond the legal gestational age for an abortion in the state at the time. They then burned and buried the baby. Facebook messages between the two revealed details of the crime.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A bio on the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.allamericanspeakers.com\/celebritytalentbios\/Imani+Gandy\/443510\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">All American Speakers Bureau<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> describes Gandy as a \u201crecovering lawyer\u201d who received her law degree from the University of Virginia. It\u2019s unclear if she is still licensed but she appears to have received plenty of accolades from pro-abortion groups.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">She currently co-hosts the \u201cBoom! Lawyered\u201d podcast which discusses \u201cthe latest legal battles in the fight for reproductive justice.\u201d Her tweets come at an important time for the abortion pill regimen (mifepristone and misoprostol), which has been viewed as a more covert alternative for women and human traffickers facing broader restrictions on abortion.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.liveaction.org\/walgreens-cvs-petition\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-large wp-image-283198 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/01\/Keep-Abortion-Pill-Out-Of-Walgreens-CVSLAN-Horizontal--700x180.jpg\" alt=\"Walgreens CVS banner\" width=\"700\" height=\"180\" srcset=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/01\/Keep-Abortion-Pill-Out-Of-Walgreens-CVSLAN-Horizontal--700x180.jpg 700w, https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/01\/Keep-Abortion-Pill-Out-Of-Walgreens-CVSLAN-Horizontal--300x77.jpg 300w, https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/01\/Keep-Abortion-Pill-Out-Of-Walgreens-CVSLAN-Horizontal--768x197.jpg 768w, https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/01\/Keep-Abortion-Pill-Out-Of-Walgreens-CVSLAN-Horizontal--500x128.jpg 500w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 700px) 100vw, 700px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The abortion pill regimen posed threats to women\u2019s health even before the FDA\u2019s decision to drop the in-person dispensing requirement. Dispensing them illegally and without proper medical oversight is incredibly irresponsible and, based on pro-life doctors\u2019 comments, could be fatal. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">According to the Association of Pro-Life Obstetricians and Gynecologists, in-person medical visits can help ensure the detection of potentially life-threatening ectopic pregnancies, as well as determine whether a woman should take RhoGam, a medication for Rh-negative women to prevent Rh isoimmunization, a reaction that can cause harm to even future preborn children. It can also help women accurately determine their gestational age, which is key for a method that the FDA says is used \u201cto end a pregnancy through ten weeks gestation.\u201d About <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/obgyn-severe-complications-abortion-pill\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">six percent<\/a> of women who take the abortion pill will require a visit to the emergency room or urgent care.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Gandy appeared to acknowledge the danger in illegally taking the pill, <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/AngryBlackLady\/status\/1635324723625353216?s=20\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">noting<\/a>: \u201cAnd again if you take abortion pills and end up in the hospital and healthcare workers ask you what you took, YOU DON&#8217;T HAVE TO TELL THEM. DO NOT TELL THEM.\u201d This leaves doctors without vital information in regard to the woman&#8217;s health, and creates inaccuracies in the reporting of abortion complications.<\/span><\/p>\n<div class=\"video-container\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">And again if you take abortion pills and end up in the hospital and healthcare workers ask you what you took, YOU DON&#39;T HAVE TO TELL THEM. Mailing the pill is also prohibited under the federal Comstock Act, which many pro-life attorneys general cited in a <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/ago.mo.gov\/docs\/default-source\/press-releases\/2023-02-01-fda-rule---walgreens-letter-danielle-gray.pdf?sfvrsn=ff1e6652_2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">letter<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> to Walgreens last month. In it, the AGs denounced the Justice Department\u2019s \u201cbizarre interpretation\u201d of Comstock as only applying to situations where the mailer intends to commit a crime by sending the abortion pill.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The post-<em>Roe<\/em> legal environment has created uncertainty for the abortion pill as a host of lawsuits have challenged rules surrounding its availability.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">\u00a0<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"YouTube video player\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/gnEHZiud8dg\" width=\"640\" height=\"355\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><span data-mce-type=\"bookmark\" style=\"display: inline-block; width: 0px; overflow: hidden; line-height: 0;\" class=\"mce_SELRES_start\">\ufeff<\/span><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In January, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) finalized a rule allowing retail pharmacies to dispense the drug but more recently, pro-abortion attorneys general sued, alleging that the rule was overly restrictive. Meanwhile, lawsuits in <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/abortion-pill-manufacturer-west-virginia-violated-constitution\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">West Virginia<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/north-carolina-legislators-intervening-abortion-pill\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">North Carolina<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> have attempted to argue that the FDA\u2019s regulation of the abortion pill has ensured access despite state restrictions on the practice.
