The photo reveals six generations of women from the family. In addition to the pair, the photo contains MaeDell Hawkins&#8217; daughter, Frances Snow; her granddaughter, Gracie Snow Howell; her great-granddaughter, Jacqueline Ledford; and her great-great granddaughter Jasline Wilson. The photo has since gone viral.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">MaeDell Hawkins&#8217; granddaughter, Sheryl Blessing (not pictured), took the photo of the family.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" style=\"border: none; overflow: hidden;\" src=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/plugins\/post.php?href=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.facebook.com%2Flex18%2Fposts%2Fpfbid02xGm2Tw4FjbLQ9RSgNd61W7Sb1fd3BGe2FxheSrUNyiyeRDRBYqWPenao6nQSCubRl&amp;show_text=true&amp;width=500\" width=\"500\" height=\"622\" frameborder=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe>\n<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">According to <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/lifestyle\/kentucky-woman-230-great-great-grandchildren-meets-great-great-great-grandchild-see-photo?intcmp=fb_fnc&amp;fbclid=IwAR2TigYQrHB_BdEVlVsI62ftBHgtxhfaf6WPsWz5NDi5TDMyOH3Z7ggal2Q\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Fox News<\/span><\/a>,<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Howell said an &#8220;all-female&#8221; trip wasn\u2019t intended, but happened as a result of the challenges of scheduling and traveling with families who live in different states. The trip allowed MaeDell Hawkins the opportunity to hold her newest family member and catch up with the rest of the family. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">&#8220;We spent three hours with her that afternoon,&#8221; Howell said. &#8220;We had a really good visit.&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">MaeDell Hawkins was reportedly born and raised in the state of Kentucky.\u00a0In 1940 she married her first husband, Bill Taylor.\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cGrandma was 16 years old when she married my grandpa, Bill,\u201d Howell\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/wpde.com\/news\/local\/a-love-that-stretches-from-kentucky-to-myrtle-beach-south-carolina-6-generations-captured-in-1-photo\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">recalled to WPDE<\/span><\/a>.<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0\u201cHe was 50 and a widower with 10 children; his first wife died while giving birth to conjoined twins at home (the babies did not survive either).\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Mrs. Hawkins took on the role of mother for her 10 stepchildren and then went on to have 13 children of her own. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Raising such a large family would have been especially difficult without indoor plumbing and other modern conveniences.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cGrandpa worked on the railroad and was gone all week,\u201d said Howell. \u201cWith so many mouths to feed, grandma would rise early in the morning, stock the wood stove, go out and gather eggs, grab a couple of chickens (wring their necks and pluck the feathers), fry them up, make biscuits and gravy, and would have breakfast ready before the kids went to school.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><em><strong>READ:\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/family-12-children-viral-large-family-blessing\/\">Family with 12 children goes viral on social media: \u2018Children are a blessing\u2019<\/a><\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The family reported that Mrs. Hawkins never complained about the lack of conveniences. She did whatever it took so her family never went hungry and always felt loved. Howell recalled, &#8220;She would often say, \u2018Hard work is what keeps you going&#8217;.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Gracie, MaeDell\u2019s granddaughter, told <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/people.com\/human-interest\/six-generations-women-pose-sweet-family-photo\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">People<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">that her grandmother, who will be 99 in July, is still &#8220;smart as a tack&#8221; \u2014 and isn&#8217;t afraid to &#8220;tell you how to take care&#8221; of a child.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Guinness World Records reports that the current world record for the family with the most\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.guinnessworldrecords.com\/world-records\/most-living-generations-(ever)\/?fb_comment_id=653356121442491_744011452376957\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">living generations\u00a0<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">ever was reached in 1989 and was awarded to a New York family who had seven living generations.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Janice Taylor, Mrs. Hawkins\u2019 daughter-in-law, created a family chart tallying up Hawkins&#8217; biological and step-descendants. The research shows she is linked to 623 people. Currently, MaeDell Hawkins has 106 grandchildren, 222 great-grandchildren, 234 great-great-grandchildren and 37 great-great-great-grandchildren combined.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Howell said, \u201cShe <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">hopes to meet her third sixth-generation grandchild this summer, as another child, a boy, is on the way.
