He also\u00a0coarsely joked that abortion should be legal\u2026 <em>even up to four years old<\/em>. In doing so, he unintentionally highlighted the absurdity of the &#8220;pro-choice&#8221; position.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cA lot of people say, \u2018Chris, you shouldn\u2019t talk about abortion. It\u2019s a women\u2019s issue. I\u2019m like, \u2018Hey! I\u2019ve paid for more abortions than any woman in this room,\u2019\u201d the comedian said, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/opinion\/chris-rock-makes-a-powerful-pro-life-argument\">according to<\/a> the Washington Examiner. \u201cWhen I go to the clinic, I say, \u2018Give me the usual.\u2019 When I go in, they give me a punch card. \u2018Here you go.\u2019 Two more, and I get a free smoothie. Mango!\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Rock\u2019s comments, whether intentionally or unintentionally, highlighted the selfishness of pro-choice men. It is not about helping women, but making life easier for the man in question.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Live Action highlighted this in its satirical production, \u201cAbortion Rights Are Pro-Choice Men&#8217;s Rights.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cThe other side will point out that abortion kills a human being. But my right to impregnate a woman and then leave her in the dust outweighs the baby\u2019s right to life,\u201d one pro-choice man <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/satire-reality-pro-choice-men-actual-man\/\">said in the skit<\/a>, echoing the comedian\u2019s sentiments.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"YouTube video player\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/o950k2HffWw\" width=\"640\" height=\"355\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><span data-mce-type=\"bookmark\" style=\"display: inline-block; width: 0px; overflow: hidden; line-height: 0;\" class=\"mce_SELRES_start\">\ufeff<\/span><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Rock then attempts to play both sides of the field, insisting a \u201cpart\u201d of him is pro-life, before justifying the horrors of abortion to the audience.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cI have two beautiful daughters. So there\u2019s a part of me that\u2019s pro-life,\u201d he continued. \u201cBecause I\u2019m definitely pro their lives. &#8230; But since I love my daughters unconditionally, I love them not just as little girls, I love them as grown women. I want my daughters to live in a world where they have complete control of their bodies. And because of that, I am pro-choice. I\u2019m absolutely pro-choice.<strong> I believe women should have the right to kill babies<\/strong>.\u201d (emphasis added)<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The admission that the preborn is in fact a <em>human child<\/em>, but that it <em>should not have the right to live<\/em> is absurd. A preborn child is innocent and did not create himself or herself. He or she did not invade his or her mother&#8217;s uterus. The child is not an enemy of his or her parents. That child has an inherent right not to be executed.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">When he detected the audience\u2019s nervous reaction, Rock reaffirmed that he was pro-abortion, \u201cThat\u2019s right. I\u2019m on your side,\u201d referring to the abortion lobby.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The comedian followed up by confirming his thoughts that the preborn are in fact &#8220;babies,&#8221; but insisted that killing babies is a woman\u2019s right, likening abortions to hiring a hitman. Interestingly, <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/pope-francis-abortion-like-hitman\/\">Pope Francis has made the same comparison<\/a>.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cBecause whenever I pay for an abortion, I request a dead baby,\u201d Rock continued. \u201cSometimes, I call up the doctor like a hitman: &#8216;Is it done?&#8217;\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Perhaps the most disturbing comments made during the rant suggested that even preschool-aged children should be able to be &#8220;aborted.&#8221; No doubt many will defend his words, insisting it was a joke. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">But in reality, Rock may have unintentionally made an important point: <em>killing a preborn child is equivalent in action to killing a child outside the womb<\/em>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cPeople argue. First trimester, second trimester &#8230; I think women should have the right to kill a baby until he\u2019s 4 years old,\u201d Rock said. \u201cF*** \u2018trimester.\u2019 \u2018Semester!\u2019\u201d\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">He concluded by rehashing the punch card joke: \u201cI think you should be able to kill a baby till you get that first report card. Whoo! He ain\u2019t never getting a scholarship. \u2018Okay, you can finish watching <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Stranger Things<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. But when it\u2019s over, we going to the clinic! Hurry up, I\u2019m trying to get a smoothie.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This bit highlights an issue within the culture \u2014\u00a0the growing sense that children are not part of the family, but commodities. We have all heard the term \u201cdesigner babies,\u201d and Rock\u2019s commentary, as disturbed as it is, shines a light on this mentality. If they are not human or worthy of protection, then they can be disposed of without a second thought.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Life is not precious if you can simply swap it for a free meal&#8230; or a smoothie.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">But in reality, every human life \u2014\u00a0born or preborn \u2014 is precious, and all are deserving of the right to life.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Live Action founder Lila Rose addressed this on Fox News, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/video\/6322165753112\">saying of Rock<\/a>, \u201cHe\u2019s an honest comedian, and if you\u2019re sitting and you\u2019re pro-choice in the audience and you\u2019re kind of uncomfortable because he called abortion what it is: it\u2019s killing a baby. It creates a dead baby. He was honest.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Rose added, \u201cHe\u2019s a brilliant satirist. I mean, it\u2019s satire. He\u2019s basically showing people, this is the extremism of being so pro-abortion that you\u2019re proud of paying for women\u2019s abortions. And he calls it murder. I think it\u2019s an underhanded blow against pro-abortion people and I found it very compelling. Good for you, Chris Rock.
