Massachusetts has launched an “abortion hotline” in an attempt to make the heavily pro-abortion state even more abortion-friendly.<\/p>\n

According to a press release<\/a>, the Abortion Legal Hotline is “a free and confidential resource to connect Massachusetts-based health care providers, helpers, and patients obtaining care in Massachusetts with free legal advice and resources about abortion access.” It was launched by the Reproductive Equity Now Foundation in partnership with Attorney General Andrea Joy Campbell, the Women\u2019s Bar Foundation, the ACLU of Massachusetts, and five law firms.<\/p>\n

Callers to the hotline will be connected with attorneys who can answer their questions about abortion access in the state.<\/p>\n

Attorney General Campbell held a news conference to announce the launch. Among the female-only speakers were\u00a0U.S. Rep. Katherine Clark,\u00a0Sen. Elizabeth Warren, and U.S. Rep. Ayanna Pressley.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt will help people and families, including those who travel from out of state seeking care, access these critical health care services,\u201d Campbell said.<\/p>\n

\u201cAbortion remains legal in Massachusetts and no anti-abortion extremist should be able to reach across our borders and challenge that,\u201d Rebecca Hart Holder, President of the Reproductive Equity Now Foundation, remarked.<\/p>\n

“With this hotline, Massachusetts is fighting back against misinformation, deception, and outright lies. This hotline ensures that both health care providers and patients can confidently go to one centralized place for free to learn about the protections afforded to them under the law,” Warren said.<\/p>\n

What callers to the hotline won’t<\/em> find is information about help available to them should they want to proceed with the pregnancy. That information, along with tangible help and resources, is found at the state’s pregnancy resource centers. Unfortunately, these PRCs have been the subject of a smear campaign headed<\/a> by Warren herself. In addition, they won’t learn the truth about what abortion does to human beings<\/a> growing in the womb.<\/p>\n
