Now, news reports reveal that the<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0proposed late-term abortion facility is slated to open on February 11th.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">According to its <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/equity-clinic.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">website<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, Equity Clinic in Champaign will offer same-day appointments and weekend hours as well as financial assistance to individuals requiring help with \u201ctransportation, lodging and procedure cost.\u201d It will also be a training center for abortionists. \u201c<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Equity Clinic provides high-quality, compassionate reproductive health care, including first- and second-trimester abortions and contraception, while ensuring future access to care by teaching learners within our practice.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">While <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.news-gazette.com\/news\/local\/health-care\/new-abortion-clinic-to-open-in-west-champaign\/article_aee97822-9239-5e2e-a202-dcfb4382837d.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">local news reports<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> omitted the detail, Equity Clinic will provide the abortion pill through 10 weeks gestation as well as surgical abortions up to 23 weeks and 6 days gestation, at the gestational age when many children can survive outside the womb with appropriate medical care, though babies as young as <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/premature-baby-celebrates-first-birthday\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">21 weeks<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> have survived.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">At 23 weeks, babies are around 11 inches long and weigh over a pound, according to the popular pregnancy website <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.whattoexpect.com\/pregnancy\/week-by-week\/week-23.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">What to Expect<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. Abortion this late in pregnancy has to be done by dilation &amp; evacuation (D&amp;E) abortion. Also known as dismemberment abortion, this procedure involves the child being torn apart limb by limb inside the womb.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><center><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"YouTube video player\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/eR1Ut4BPbOw\" width=\"640\" height=\"355\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/center>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Abortion at this gestational age is <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/researchers-abortionists-abortion-second-trimester-dangerous\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">also much riskier for the mother<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/15051566\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This study<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> found \u201c<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">that a woman\u2019s risk of death from abortion increased by 38% for each additional week of gestation\u201d after eight weeks. Risks include uterine wall perforation, damage to nearby organs, cervical injury, incomplete abortion, infection, and hemorrhage, potentially requiring a hysterectomy.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Equity Clinic\u2019s main provider will be Dr. Keith Reisinger-Kindle. Dr. Reisinger-Kindle is currently employed by<\/span> <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/dangerous-ohio-abortion-facility-injures-another-woman\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Women&#8217;s Med Dayton<\/span><\/a>,<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0an <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/report-abortion-performed-on-impaired-ohio-woman-without-consent\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Ohio abortion facility<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> with a <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.lifenews.com\/2021\/01\/29\/woman-rushed-to-hospital-after-shes-injured-by-botched-late-term-abortion\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">troubling history<\/span><\/a>\u00a0that includes safety violations and injuring women.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.liveaction.org\/walgreens-cvs-petition\/\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-283198\" src=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/01\/Keep-Abortion-Pill-Out-Of-Walgreens-CVSLAN-Horizontal--700x180.jpg\" alt=\"Walgreens CVS banner\" width=\"700\" height=\"180\" srcset=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/01\/Keep-Abortion-Pill-Out-Of-Walgreens-CVSLAN-Horizontal--700x180.jpg 700w, https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/01\/Keep-Abortion-Pill-Out-Of-Walgreens-CVSLAN-Horizontal--300x77.jpg 300w, https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/01\/Keep-Abortion-Pill-Out-Of-Walgreens-CVSLAN-Horizontal--768x197.jpg 768w, https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/01\/Keep-Abortion-Pill-Out-Of-Walgreens-CVSLAN-Horizontal--500x128.jpg 500w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 700px) 100vw, 700px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Dr. Reisinger-Kindle himself was listed as the ordering physician for five patients in a four-month timespan in 2022 who experienced failed chemical abortions and subsequently underwent surgical abortions due to ongoing pregnancies (four of the cases) or retained clots (one of the cases). <\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/abortiondocs.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/07\/Reisinger-ru486-complication-reports-2022.pdf\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Documentation<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> provided by Women&#8217;s Med Dayton to the State Medical Board of Ohio in accordance with state law showed that in one of the four cases of ongoing pregnancy, the ongoing pregnancy was not addressed <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">for five weeks<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, at which point the patient underwent a second-trimester D&amp;E abortion.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The opening of Equity Clinic is one way Illinois continues to respond to the alleged \u201csoaring demand\u201d for abortions after the overturning of <em>Roe v. Wade<\/em>. The state has wholeheartedly embraced its status as an abortion tourism destination, and Governor JB Pritzker <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/illinois-governor-abortion-endangers-women\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">recently signed legislation<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> promising to expedite license applications for out-of-state nurses and other healthcare staff specifically seeking to provide abortions in the state. The legislation further \u201cshields\u201d from legal liability healthcare providers who lost their licenses in other states for illegally assisting with or performing abortions.
